Welcome to Paradise, Book 3

Twelve years later, she’s home for a charity event and up for auction. The highest bidder? Jake. This time around, he wants more than a wild ride—he wants it all. But she’s not about to risk her heart on another fling that’ll just leave it in pieces.

Jake once reveled in showing Bree how good it is to be bad. But convincing her he can be good for her is going to take some very special tactics…

Another enjoyable Bishop book this time it is Owen's twin Jake. Jake is former special forces who has been recently honourably discharged though he hasn't told his family that yet, he is in limbo, lost after his last mission which was a disaster and not making the call on a job offer so when he sees Bree again after so many years, she offers a distraction.

He and Bree spent three magical months together boinking like monkeys, he left then going into the army. For Bree he represents her wild past and the guy she almost threw everything away for(SAT's, law school). He is like her drug and she thought she loved him but looking back they only shared sex since Jake never let it be more.

Soon they are doing that again but when Jake tries to just talk to her she acts surprised and he realizes how closed off he is and makes an effort. Things go well until they meet her snob parents and he mouths off. He was justified in a way but he did act immature and I liked how Bree told him that he is a coward with no responsibilities in life.

I loved seeing Lexie and Cooper the most again, wherein Lexie finally has the courage to take the relationship public.

When I read this author I know what to expect, sexy times. Looking forward to Austin's book.

OMG I've finished this book for like, the same date I added it but I totally forgot to leave a darn review! Haha, my bad!

I'm a bit annoyed with Jake's attitude. Because he wants Bree, but refuse to "settle down", but I also frustrated with Bree's action which sometimes could be really.. Rude.

But overall I enjoyed it. I love Lexie and Cooper's story!!! Let's jump to book 4, yes?

The hero, Jake was a former special force, who mastered the ability to never say anything, never get involved and always avoid any kind of inconvenience. Bree, on the other hand, was a more interesting heroine: she faced an internal struggle, when she tried to resist to Jake's renewed attraction, but she soon realized what she really wanted and then confronted him several times and tried to help him communicate and relate with others. She was really instrumental to his development, which I really liked. The secondary story between Lexie and Cooper, which started from the first instalment in the series, found here a few climatic moments that I really liked.
A better one than the previous two.

I’m a sucker for any story where old lover’s reunite and while Born To Be Wild was good, it wasn’t great as far as this type of story goes. I had high hopes, I’ll admit I’m a big Elle Kennedy fan and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series. In the first book Welcome To Paradise, we saw lovers reunited and it was a great story. That was mainly due to a very, very likeable hero and great back story. In Born To Be Wild, we learn more about Jake Bishop (his twin Owen’s story was book 2) and an old flame Bree Lockhart.

Jake has served in Special Forces in the Army and we learn that he’s been honorably discharged. He came home for Owen’s wedding but hasn’t told his family about his discharge. I wanted to like Jake as I’ve liked his brothers very much, but honestly he came across as egotistical, immature, and self centered. He was a “bad boy” in high school and it seems that over a decade later he hasn’t outgrown this type of behavior. He thinks the stigma of being his father’s child has followed him and feels he might as well live up to that reputation.

Bree is an ex-cheerleader turned attorney working out of her father’s firm in Denver, Colorado. She’s home to visit her parents and ends up in a bachelorette charity auction. Bree’s family is one of the founding families of Paradise, Colorado. They are well off, well bred, and expect the best from their children. They didn’t approve of Jake (son of the town drunk and womanizer) when Bree was with him in high school and they don’t like it now any better. Bree is smart but unfortunately she lets her hormones rule when it comes to Jake. She also seems to have a hard time living her life without letting her parent’s wishes come into play.

Jake and Bree had a very adult relationship as kids in high school. While both back in town they resume their relationship, both determined it’s for a short time and it’s strictly sex only. I will say because of their prior association, it doesn’t take long for this to happen and there are some really, really hot scenes. Soon they both find they want more and even though Jake doesn’t like Bree’s family, he agrees to have dinner with them. Suffice it to say, this does not go well and things really go down hill quickly. Jake eventually does the right thing, but personally I felt it all happened to “neatly” and Bree was much to forgiving after not hearing from Jake for almost a month.

It seems with every author I read religiously, there comes a time when they write a book that doesn’t live up to my expectations. This book is one of those books, it’s not bad…it’s just not as good as I’ve come to expect from Elle. Honestly, I feel this book needed more words, more time, more something. It seems rushed and all tied together too conveniently at the end. During this book, we see more of the ongoing relationship between Lexie Price and Cooper Grady. I found their story WAY more interesting and engaging, but then they’ve fascinated me from the beginning. I’m hoping we will see a more in depth story for them in the future. There is also the storyline of Austin (the youngest Bishop brother) and his continuing problem with their mother. I have an idea what that problem is (one of the reason’s I don’t read mysteries because I can always figure them out) and I’m very much looking forward to his story. If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend you do because it is a good "small town" series. While this book isn't my favorite of the series, it's still a good read.

Jake Bishop has always been seen as the town bad boy. Bree Lockhart has always been seen as the town good girl. And no one but them knows about the three wild, reckless months they spent as lovers back in high school. Twelve years have passed and both Bree and Jake have gone their separate ways. But when Bree comes home and is roped into going up on the stage for a charity auction, she’s shocked to discover Jake bidding — and winning — a date with her. The intervening years since high school haven’t dimmed their desire for one another. Bree knows their reunion is only temporary, but Jake seems to be after something more. Can this good girl trust her heart to the bad boy she’s never been able to forget?

BORN TO BE WILD is an insanely addictive story! How addictive? I opened the file to read the blurb on my cellphone and – despite having a fully functioning computer and Kindle – ended up reading the entire book on my phone. I could NOT put it down.

Author Elle Kennedy knows how to write a hot book, but BORN TO BE WILD is off-the-charts erotic! Jake and Bree have sizzling chemistry that practically sweeps them off of their feet…and me, the reader, along with them. But as much as I enjoyed the raw passion of BORN TO BE WILD, it is Jake and Bree themselves that make the story memorable. Jake is wickedly sensual and a soldier to the core, but not many people expect much from him. Bree sees Jake for who he truly is, and I loved learning about him through her eyes. Bree, in turn, is a brilliant woman who has learned to stand her ground when others try to push her around. I respected and liked Bree immensely, so it was easy for me to become invested in her romance with Jake.

BORN TO BE WILD is the third Bishop brothers story in Ms. Kennedy’s WELCOME TO PARADISE series, but it can be read as a standalone. Fans of the series will, however, enjoy revisiting some of their favorite characters. And to my everlasting delight, the overarching series subplot involving Cooper and Lexie moves forward in BORN TO BE WILD, though I definitely won’t spoil what happens there.

I absolutely loved BORN TO BE WILD; it’s scorching, sweet and wholly entertaining. I finished Bree and Jake’s story wanting nothing more than to re-read it, which is always the mark of a great book. Ms. Kennedy is an auto-buy author for me and with stories like BORN TO BE WILD, it’s easy to see why. I can’t wait for the next WELCOME TO PARADISE book!

What a great story! Elle Kennedy weaved such an amazing story with Born to Be Wild, I could not put down my Kindle once I started. This is the third installment to Elle Kennedy' s "Welcome to Paradise" series, but it can very well be a stand-alone read. I have not read the previous two in the series & it still made perfect sense!

Bree Lockhart is the smart, rich and good girl. Yet, she has a wild streak in her. During her senior year of high school, she secretly had a three month affair with bad boy Jake Bishop, the boy from the wrong side of town. Jake knows that Bree deserves better and that's why he left for the military after their affair without a backwards glance. Now 12 years later, both of them are back in Paradise on a brief visit and Jake bids on Bree during a charity auction and wins a date with her. From there, these two get together & agree on a purely physical relationship with no strings attached. However, the sparks of 12 years before have not disappeared; it has only been rekindled & this time it's hotter! And with their week long affair, Jake realizes that this time around he wants more than just a wild ride with Bree.

I enjoyed this story so much I did not want it to end! I love second chances romance novels and this one did not disappoint! What I also loved about this novel was the characterizations with Bree & Jake. They were fleshed out and were likeable characters. Jake, being the bad boy hero, was tough and dominant yet there was a streak of vulnerability to him that made him all the more interesting to read about. And then there's Bree. I loved her as a heroine. She was loving and accepting of Jake & his family and wasn't snobby no matter where she stood in the social circle. What I also loved about this book was the secondary story involving Cooper & Lexie, the Mayor's daughter & another bad boy of Paradise. Although I also loved reading about them, their story did not take away from Bree & Jake's story. However, one tiny complaint that I had was that I wished Ms. Kennedy had included an epilogue. Although Bree & Jake had their HEA, I would have loved to visit with them more in an epilogue (Call me obsessed, lol) Overall, I loved Born to Be Wild. It is the perfect second chance romance story to read if that's what you're looking for! Highly recommend!

A shorter, contemporary romance novel about two reunited lovers who learn how to communicate with each other after ten years. Bree was the 'good girl' in high school who almost gave it all up for her 'bad boy' fling Jake. Her parents were rich snobs; his dad was a philandering abuser. She went to law school; he ran away and joined the military. Reunion 10 years laters, and the issues are still the same.

Although I disliked Jake at the beginning (some very asshole-ish tendencies), I really felt sorry for him later in the book. I particularly felt like I had to take his side during the parent-dinner date event. Poor guy got a bad rap - I'd have probably said the same thing, only louder.

My favorite of the series so far. I love friends to lovers to more books, so this is right up my alley. Overall, while still a short read, I felt like this one had a little more depth to the plot and characters. Plus, I really liked the ongoing subplot of Cooper and Lexi and it's conclusion.

SWEET STORY
I really enjoyed this book. It's full of people falling in love with the wrong people only to find out they're with our a doubt the right people. The sex is amazing and the sexual chemistry is off the charts HOT. The characters were great together. Make and Bred are so meant for each other. I highly recommend this book to everyone. If your looking for a sweet sexy love story this is it.

Jake and Bree have always had great chemistry and their no-holds barred physical relationship was all they needed twelve years ago. From teenage hormones to adult lust, the sexual spark is instantaneous and definitely still there when Jake spots Bree years later. Yet, with Jake’s military issues, he’s too consumed by his thoughts to pursue anything more than a physical relationship again. Add to that the pressures coming from his family and the never-ending small town judgments and Jake is ready to leave. The only thing keeping him in Paradise is the sex agreement he brokered with Bree, but is that all there is? And, this time, is it enough?

Bree’s good girl, hard working appearance hasn’t faltered since the night bad boy Jake broke her heart and got away. When they meet again at a charity auction, Bree is surprised to find those teenage hormones never left where Jake is concerned. However, things are different this time her independent streak argues that she will be the one walking away. A week’s worth of no-string’s attached sex is well worth coming back to Paradise for, but is it worth possibly losing her heart again to Jake?

This couple’s physical chemistry is off the charts amazing right from the beginning. The major hang-ups the couple faces aren’t "small fixable in a week" type of issues. They come from opposite worlds in the town of Paradise and Jake’s own personal problems cast a major shadow on the developing romance. However, I appreciated the realistic route the story ventured in showcasing this with a great build-up. Even the ending isn’t fairytale produced and yet seems very fitting and satisfying. Readers who enjoy reunion stories with a bit of an erotic edge should definitely return to Paradise and witness how Jake and Bree tackle their second chance.

I love Elle Kennedy's style of writing and Born to Be Wild didn't disappoint.

The best part of Born to Be Wild were the characters, primarily Jake. Jake Bishop is incredibly sexy and still has the bad boy vibe that he had growing up and he's back in town on military leave. Bree Lockhart, the good girl who was secretly bad with Jake in high school, is also temporarily back in town. Jake and Bree were from opposite sides of the tracks where paths were never to cross in the minds of her high society parents. The chemistry was ignited for a second time with the same past agreement, temporary and secret.

The storyline was simple and predictable, as expected; yet enjoyable. Bree's parents were the stereotypical persona which created the biggest relationship challenge; however, Jake's privacy with a tendency for shutting down didn't help matters. With a classic storyline, I was craving additional depth and dimension digging into the lives and minds of the primary characters.

The brothers all played a part in the supporting cast of characters increasing the sex appeal to the storyline and a teaser for Austin's story in the remaining book of the series, Since You've Been Gone.

All in all, Born to Be Wild was a light yet entertaining read.

Enjoyable. Though it felt like it went a lot quicker than the last one?

I liked Jake. He had issues. Mostly in communication areas.

Bree, wasn't annoying. I rather liked her.

They had both grown up and changed, and yet not. It worked well.

Her family could take a long walk off a short pier though for all I care.

Lexie and Cooper... well, that was another nice addition to their story.

And the mystery surrounding the riff between Austin and Momma Bishop, well... I have an inkling what that might be.. and I can't wait to see if I'm right.

Bree is not my favorite in the series. Neither is Jake. The make a good couple, but though it worked she was too hard on him and he just accepted it.
