Detective Sally Decker s Wyoming trip to visit her newlywed friend, Carly, turns into a dangerous adventure into the unknown when she learns Carly s husband is a master vampire, and there s a pack of werewolves living just up the road. As if that wasn t alarming enough, the sexy Alpha wolf has taken a shine to her.
Jason Moore is an Alpha on a mission to make Sally his own. His very public seduction doesn t sit well with the pack s available females, but instinct tells him that Sally can handle anything, including any werewolf bitch dumb enough to challenge her.
Romance gives way to a call to arms when the pack s children come under attack. Their rescue mission turns into a mating dance and the hunt is on in more ways than one. Their attraction is mind-bendingly hot, though startling revelations about his magic and her origins could drive a wedge between them forever. Can love help them bridge the chasm between their worlds?
Warning: This book contains bombs, bullets, bare-knuckled and bare-naked lust, and some serious ass kicking. Please do not feed the frisky furballs, unless you re willing to risk drawing back a bloody nub. "
Bianca D'Arc is the USA Today bestselling author of over 100 romance titles. She has been published traditionally, by a few notable small presses, and indie. Before becoming a full-time writer, she ran a laboratory, a legal department, and jetted around the country on business while working for a Fortune 500 engineering firm.
I’m a huge Bianca D’Arc fan. I’ve followed every series that she has written and am always excited when I find out that there will be a new release. Brotherhood of Blood was the 2nd series of Bianca’s that I discovered, so when I heard about the release of Wolf Hills I was ecstatic.
The first thing that struck me about this book were the amazing characters. You have a strong, independent, willful heroine, a hunky alpha male hero and the perfect supporting cast.
Sally is a detective on vacation visiting one of her best friends who just happens to be the Mistress of the area – the local master vampire’s wife.
Jason is the Alpha of the local pack and the minute he lays eyes on Sally he knows that they’re meant to be.
Despite warnings from Sally’s best friend Carly and her master vampire husband, Sally can’t ignore the attraction between she and Jason either.
When hunters start targeting the pack’s young, Sally and Jason are thrown together to try and track down the hunters and the kidnapped kids and get justice. As nature takes its course, sparks fly, adrenaline packed action ensues, and each of them learns things about themselves as well as each other.
The world of Wolf Hills was beautifully built, diverse, and captivating. The storyline was action packed and thrilling, yet full of ‘tug-at-your-heartstrings’ romantic moments and intrigue; which is the perfect combination to make you not want to put the book down, and in my personal opinion, the recipe for a phenomenal paranormal romance.
Like the reading warning states: There were bombs, bullets, bare knuckled fights, bare-naked lust, and some serious booty kicking, and I did not want it to end! After completion of the last page all I could say was “I WANT MORE!”.
LITERAL ADDICTION gives Wolf Hills 5 Skulls and would recommend it to everyone. The entire Brotherhood of Blood series (and the rest of Bianca’s Backlist) is fabulous, but this book is amazing and is a wonderful installment to Bianca’s library of literary excellence.
Fabulous line totally worth noting... :) "He really was lickably handsome and built for sin. And Sally, the good girl turned upholder of the law, suddenly wanted to sin like never before."
A good addition to this series as well as being linked to the Tales of The Were series. Looking forward to reading more but as this was the last story about the group of female friends finding their men, I suspect it may be the end. I would think that any continuation be in the Lords of The Were series or a new closely linked series be created.....I could be wrong! But hopefully we will still catch up with the friends and their sexy spouses sometime in the future!
Detective Sally Decker is the last of her college study group girlfriends to settle down. When she goes on vacation to visit one of her best friends, Carly and her new husband Dmitri in Wyoming, she's surprised at what she finds . From the get-go, Sally sees that all is not as it seems, being surrounded by inhumanly tall, muscular males and tall beautiful females. Then walks in Alpha male, Jason Moore, throwing Sally completely for a loop.
When Carly and Dmitri confess that they are Vampires and that gorgeous Jason is the Alpha of the local Werewolf pack, Sally is taken aback until she's quickly given a demonstration. Unbelievably accepting of the confessions she's just heard, Sally becomes fascinated with her surroundings, especially Jason Moore.
As soon as Alpha werewolf, Jason sees Sally he is drawn to her. Not only because of her confidence and her apparent strength, but because something else unknown about her tweaks his interest. When a plot by an group of evil hunters threatens the lives of Were children, Sally throws herself into helping Jason and the Werewolf pack keep them safe. Sally's mix of beauty and determination quickly enthralls Jason into thinking that maybe Sally would be the perfect Alpha female for him, though Sally is convinced that at the end of her two week stint in Wyoming, she will be returning to her old life. That may or may not be the case. You will have to read Wolf Hills to find out!
With action and attraction pretty much happening from the first sentence, Wolf Hills by Bianca D"Arc is a great read. I love how Alpha Werewolf, Jason decides what he wants and pretty much nothing deters him from his goal. Sally Decker is an amazing female with her gritty confidence and her knack of a cool head in times of distress. Wolf Hills is part of the Brotherhood of Blood series, but is fabulous as a stand-alone as well. I highly recommend Wolf Hills by Bianca D'Arc.
Meh. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I wanted it to be either. The story itself was action-y and I liked the idea of werewolf geeks. However, I didn't feel that we got to know the hero or heroine as people.
D'Arc focused pretty heavily on their races. Throw in 'purple' instead of 'werewolf' and you get, 'Oh, he's purple. This is what purple people do and he's the head purple person. You're at least half purple. That makes you special. Oh, look, it turns out you're also half pink. You may identify more strongly with your pink side and this is what pink people do. Aren't you just a special snowflake for being half purple and pink?' Sally, the heroine, had the potential to be a strong female character, based on her personality traits alone, but once D'Arc introduced her pink side, it was all 'Thank the Goddess you're pink! You have saved the day!'
Why couldn't we find out if Jason, the hero, folds his socks or puts the toilet seat down? Why didn't we see Sally think a little more about her decision to be with Jason in Wyoming? I think, in a nutshell, I wanted to read about their relationship, about who they were, not about what they were.
I think this book needs to make up it's mind if it is kinky or regular romance because it was confusing. LOL.
Alpha Werewolf...meet...San Fransisco Police Detective. She can kick some butt, has a green thumb, rides a motorcycle and is handy with firearms. A big turn on for our local Alpha.
She comes to visit her friend who is recently mated to the local Master Vamp and turned herself and steps into the world of all these paranormal beings....Were and Vamp and....well read it to find out. She starts hanging with the Alpha during the day while her vamp friend sleeps and get's into all sorts of trouble with him.
A great first half of the book, attraction, interesting people, plot and action....but I was a little disappointed with the second half. It was okay but kinda petered out for me.
BUT....The cat fight between the heroine and Serena (the ex-slash-boyfriend stalker) was worth reading the book for. :-)

Tough, strong, don't "FWM" female cop meets sexy Alpha male; she wants hot-sweaty sex; they kiss; they have sex indoors; they have sex outdoors (in front of stranger); he claims her; she meets long-lost grandmother; they rescue loved ones with her running in guns blazing; she's in trouble; he rescues her; they fall in love; they declare their love; they mate; she quits her job; and they move in together - ALL IN LESS THAN 4 DAYS!!!!
Come on! Seriously? WTF???
Me, the reader: I read the book; I roll my eyes a thousand times; I shout, "Give me a break!" over and over; I hate the book; I hate the female heroine; I want to put a bullet thru her head; I want to throw the book; I want to burn the book; I want to stomp on book (it's a Kindle); I finish book; I don't recommend the book; I want my money back; I get my money back.

It was pretty amazing. Then the part came where we found out he was a manwhore and slept with all the unmated females. In more detail than was needed. And the part where he was fine with another shifter watching him do things to her while he himself got off watching and seeing her naked body even though Jason was pretty sure she was his mate. That’s not mate behavior. Also the lovemaking/sex was missing something. It was a very short event and felt disconnected or lackluster in some way. Besides those things it was good. Might read the others in this series after I check out some other prn authors to find one I love. If you like prn romance books, I’d recommend this one. I like the addition of magicical beings/power.

This book was very good. This is about a girl, Detective Sally Decker, who goes to Wyoming to visit her newlywed friend Carly. What Sally doesn't know is Carly has married a Vampire, and is going to learn a lot more about the things that go bump in the night. Sally meets up with Carly's neighbor Jason Moore who is an Alpha Wolf . Jason knows right away that Sally is is true mate, but doesn't know how to explain to her about just who he really is, etc. Lots of passion between them in this book and a lot of action as there is someone or other hunters out there hunting children. Very tense in this book. Kept my attention throughout. Highly recommend.
Had to bail when Jason let some friend watch him and Sally have sex and she didn’t object! Ugh! Felt unrealistic as normally shifters who have found their mates are supposed to be both possessive and protective. Also why wouldn’t Sally object to some random stranger just showing up and being allowed to stay? It made no sense and it made me angry.
I really like her Grizzly Cove series but clearly I can’t go back and read her earlier novels if this is the kind of thing happening in them.
First of all, I am so glad that Bianca D'Arc is back to writing again! I really enjoyed the "Brotherhood of the Blood" series and was excited to see her start it up again. I was somewhat disappointed with this installment in the series. This book starts of with Sally going to visit her friend, Carly, from her past study group and and Carly's boyfriend Dmitri. She finds out when she get there that her friend has mated with a vampire and become a vampire herself. As Sally is adjusting to this she is being pursued the by local wolf group'd Alpha, Jason. Sally and Jason start spending a lot of time together during the day while Carly is unable to be out and about. Trouble starts to find the couple and they work together to fix the conflicts that are arising. Jason doesn't like the danger that Sally seems to put herself in but she is a police officer so she is use to living her life this way. She feels he needs to accept it as this is who she is. Jason becomes aware of the fact that Sally is his mate and he will do whatever it takes to have her. I really enjoyed the first part of the book and thought it had great potential to be a real hot, primal read. It fell short for me a little bit on the primal aspect of it. I usually like the werewolves I read about to be extremely possessive and rough and protective. Jason was these things but in my opinion only to a small degree. I found there sex to be enjoyable but not steamy enough.. I usually like the shapeshifters to be more "raw".. The storyline itself was a good one and I will still follow this series..I just think that my preferences weren't fully met with this book. For some, it will be just perfect..for me, I just want grittier!
I have a somewhat hit-miss relationship with this series, which is why I always come back for more in the hopes that I will like the next book. Wolf Hills was definately a hit for me.
I like how there wasn't a whole lot of pussyfooting around about should I shouldn't I. It's a very common denominator in PNR stories that gets boring after a while. I love the characters of the BOB series but Jason and Sally were big standouts for me.
Sally is on vacation trying to reboot herself from potential burnout as a police detective with the SFPD. She just wants to spend the next 2 weeks visiting and reconnecting with one of her best friends who recently moved away and married a handsome college professor.
Almost immediately upon arrival Sally is thrust into a world of vampires, warewolves and magical beings. She takes this all immediately in stride including her strong physical attraction to Alpha Jason. He smells something in her that feels "other" which adds a bit to her character.
Some might immediately dislike this story because Sally just immediately accepts what is going on and falls inline without any histeria on her part, but my take is this isn't a RW story so roll with it people because it's a great ride.
I'm looking forward to the next installment to shee with Ms. D'Arc throws our way!
From the very beginning I found myself being pulled within the pages of Wolf Hills truly magnificent storyline. I quickly fell in love with the strength and emotions of the characters and their stories.
Sally Decker is a San Francisco Detective, her friends have all recently found partners and married. Sally has not seen her dearest friend Carly since her wedding so decides to take leave and go visit her in Wyoming.
Jason Moore is Alpha of the Wyoming Pack he has an alliance with the Master Vampire Dmitri and now Dmitri has taken Carly as his bride several of Jason's pack have started working for her computer company.
When Sally arrives at Carly and Dmitri's home she will soon find out there is more to her friends and their new husband and world she never knew existed. But when Sally sees Jason the connection between them is strong and Jason offers to show her around Wyoming while she is in town. With his pack in danger Jason will need to stop the threat before someone is killed and he will need Sally's help more than he wants especially when he knows it will put her in harms way.
I loved Wolf Hills and would definitely recommend you put it on your TBR list
Sally Decker is a San Francisco detective who has come to Wyoming to visit her newly-wed friend, Carly. Sally is shocked to discover that Carly is not only newly-wed, but that she is a new vampire and married to a master vampire, Dmitri. (Their story is D'Arc's Phantom Desires.) Sally is further shocked to discover that Carly's neighbor is a wolf-shifter, Jason Moore. Jason is the alpha of his wolf pack. Jason immediately recognizes Sally as his mate, even though she appears to be human.
When human enemies attack the children of the pack, Sally's skills are needed. And everyone--including Sally--discovers that there's more to her talents and background than anyone ever suspected. But can Jason and the pack accept her for who and what she is? ~~~~~ Sally is a kick-butt heroine...
Sally, a police detective from San Francisco, visits her friend Carly in Wyoming only to find out that Carly is now a vampire. And her neighbor is Jason, the alpha of a wolf pack. Jason recognizes Sally as his mate right away, but what neither of them realizes is that there is more to Sally than there appears to be. When hunters start taking shots at the youth of the pack, Sally's abilities--both mundane and unique--come to the forefront.
There was a lot of action to this book, and not as much eroticism as I expected. In fact, one of the erotic scenes seemed to stick out like a sore thumb. I'm not even sure what its purpose was--to introduce a character, maybe? Was it a gratuitous smex scene? I'm not sure. In any case, Sally was a kick-butt heroine and Jason was a sexy alpha. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I am so excited this series has continued and I hope Mrs. D'Arc keeps it going. This time we are treated to the last of the "four" Sally. Her story starts with a visit to Carly and changes her life forever. I loved Sally's character as she was a strong female detective from California with a take no bull attitude. She was a perfect match for Jason who is the super HOT Alpha of the local werewolf pack (and I mean "Alpha" in more ways then one). The chemistry between these two was on from the start and only gets better. The story line was different from the past 3 books as we get to/explore the werewolf world versus vampire in more depth. There is of course a HEA, but the ending leaves room for at least one more if not several more books to be added to the series. I hope we don't have to wait too long!
I had not read the other books in the Brotherhood of Blood Series but this book was not effected and could be a stand alone. Jason is the strong Alpha of the local pack who has joined forces with the Vampires in the area. Carly is Sally's best friend. Carly is mated to a Vampire and Sally thinks she is human. As the story unfolds she discovers she has a touch of Werewolf blood, but even more forest magic. Sally discovers a relative she didn't know existed and hears about more relatives she wants to find.
An instant attraction to Jason grows quickly and passionately into erotic, loving and respectful partnership and mating. Both characters are developed to the point of really liking each of them. Although Jason is Alpha through and through he is able to see Sally as a partner not an inferior. Loved the book. Plot, passion and people all well done.
This is the new to me author book. I haven't read any of the previous books in this series and only came across this one upon the recommendation of a group I belong to.
Great story line. Loved the book and will definitely read the other books in this series. There were a couple parts that I were disappointed in but that's my personal opinion. Others will have a different view. For example. When Jason and Sally first meet. I felt like he was a puppy dog instead of an alpha. Other parts would be potential spoilers so I'm not saying anymore.
Not sure if I like the direction the series is apparently going in after this book after reading the end but will reserve judgement because I haven't read the other books and this may be a false perception.
I had so desperately wanted to like this book. I had read a sample and thought it had potential to be a great book, but towards the end it became unbearably unbelievable. This is the first book in reading by this author and also the first book I'm reading of the series so I might be missing some things. The one things that put me off about the book was the time frame. Sally was going to stay for two weeks but the story all took place in three days and this is including steamy and action scenes. By the end of the fourth day they were mated and living comfortably. That is some summer lovin right there. The author had some really great ideas but she couldn't quite get it out on paper to keep me interested.

I really enjoyed this sixth book of the Brotherhood of Blood series. Sally, never quite fitting in uses her differences to take charge and help others. A detective in San Francisco, Sally suffers from burn out and is taking a much needed vacation to visit Carly whom she hasn't seen since Carly's wedding. Then things get interesting.
Enter: the Alpha! Big, powerful, dominant, and all hers; Jason took one sniff and needed to rock her world. Add in villains, teamwork, and long lost relatives; mix it all up and forget the world until you reach the final word.
If you haven't read the rest, start at the beginning and read them in order for the best experience.
I liked the interesting heroine who is not a wilting flower or damsel in distress. She's a cop and gets over the 'omg! weres and vamps are real? golly gee what happens now" phase quick. I didn't get that much into Jason the hero individually but put him with Sally, he was a sweetie. Nothing too special but I enjoyed this book, especially for a paranormal. Great for a light read with nothing to depressing or tortuously sad.
I've read all the books in the Brotherhood of Blood series and this one was one of my list favorites, as was Lords of the Were. It's something about the wolf books that I just don't connect with well. The story meandered along but it just didn't grab me. It was okay...just not stellar. However, it's good to have Ms. D'Arc back writing again.
I enjoyed this novel. It had the hot mating of police detective Sally and alpha werewolf Jason, as well as a decent action plot with the hunters after pack children, and followup on Carly & Dmitri from Phantom Desires.
