Honest, I love the tropes of unrequited love and neighborhood crush, younger sibling with older sibling's friend. Rodeo Queen has all three, squee! Rodeo Queen/Taking Catie draws the reader in right away with the chemistry and desire raging between Catie and Chad. But Chad resists because he's not one to be tied down nor does he want to acknowledge he might have feelings for his neighbor almost 12 years his junior.
And this might have a feeling of ick, if it wasn't handled with the adept skill of Helen Hardt. That, and Catie is no longer a little girl, rather she is 21, wordly from living abroad the past four years, and perhaps more mature than our bachelor and player extraordinaire.
I haven't read too many westerns, But Hardt now has me adding them to my very long TBR list.
