Lily McAllister never wanted to see Luke Tanner again after their split two years ago. The by-the-book cop made it perfectly clear he didn't want to marry into the city's first family of crime after he found out Lily was one of those McAllisters. So when he turns up at her house, shutting the door in his face seems like the best thing to do, especially since she's just broken the law. She would have done it too if he hadn't handcuffed her. Now she's got to explain why he shouldn't arrest her for stealing a diamond necklace when her face is on the CCTV footage. And she's got to ignore the feelings resurfacing between them.
Luke Tanner still loves Lily, despite her family. It defies logic but his feelings for her never had anything to do with his brain. Now logic has taken a hike again because he's willing to do anything to win her back, including breaking the law. And grovel. A lot.
YOU AGAIN is a 27,000 word novella, approximately one-third the size of a novel.

Opposites Attract in a Second Chance Romantic Comedy between a Thief and a Cop was just the fun premise that had me one-clicking when this was a freebie. Quick, fun, and sexy crime caper romance!
Review:
Lily expected the cops on her doorstep when she'd just committed a crime, but worse, it was her ex putting her in handcuffs and not looking any happier about it. Lily has some fast talking to do.
Luke made the biggest mistake of his life when he reacted badly to her confession to being the daughter of a notorious thief and broke up with her, choosing his career over her. Now, he has her outlandish story and has to choose once again.
This is a novella-length story so it worked fast. It helped that its a second chance romance so I had no trouble jumping in at this point in their lives when the pair have a new encounter and a new chance. It spiced up quickly when they admitted to having a continuing attraction and feelings. But, they have to get Lily out of her jam. I love 'heist' stories so that made this one even more fun.
I had a good time with this one and would definitely pick up other books from this author under this name or her CJ Arthur name.
This was a short story, but dear God was I booooored. One minute the FMC is declaring her undying hatred for the MMC and declaring he will never have a shot with her again -- EVER (and I could kinda get why -- it sounds like he acted like a fuckbag and dumped her because she was going to harm his upward career trajectory) and literally two paragraphs later, she's propositioning him for sex. Maybe this was supposed to be funny (oh ha ha, she can't control her vaginal twitches or whatever -- someone needs to tell her about kegels), but the humor just wasn't my bag.
The writing wasn't bad, but the plot wasn't grabbing me, the second chance wasn't doing it for me, and the humor wasn't mine. Total personal preference. YMMV.
This a well written short story (or novella... whatever). Shorts aren't my favorite form because I don't feel like I have time to really get to know the characters, but as a sampler, this works. This, I think, is an author worth reading. And it's free. Can't beat that.
Lili McAllister’s father was known as a jewelled thief. The infamous one. The best in his field. So when her police boyfriend, Luke Tunner, learned about this fact he left her and never came back. Well, he’s a police with ambition to become a chief. Having a relationship with a thief daughter would have bad effect to his carier.
And it was a surprise when, after two years later, Lili found Luke on her front door. Trying to arrest her! A surveillance camera caught Lili in action while she tried to break in into the Haywood-Smith residence. And she was accused stealing a necklace from that house. And Luke believed it cause she’s a thief dauhter!
After some doubts and kisses, Luke finally believed Lili’s story that she tried to return a jewel her father stole from the Haywood-Smith. But why the Haywood-Smith didn’t say anything about the return jewel and acccused Lily of stealing another jewel?
While trying to resolve this mistery, the spark between Luke and Lily turn into fire. And eventhough Luke had been promoted to superintendent, he realized that life without Lily felt so empty.
I really enjoy reading this book. Lily’s character make me smile. She’s tough and although she knows her father’s “job” she love him no matter what. Luke kinda annoyed me sometimes. Yes, he’s hot and all that, but when he accused Lily that she’s just like her father make me want to smack him! Luckily, Luke did something sweet that make me forgive him
Jyaaaahh... my first review in english! i hope anyone who read this review can understand what i'm saying. LOL!
Short and delightful novella centered around a master thief's daughter and her relationship with a hunky cop. Unrealistic -- but a good dose of witty banter, some steamy romance, and a funny storyline can help one get over that small hurdle.
This novella seemed extremely pointless to me. The writing was fairly decent. But everything was played out too dramatically and it really was unnecessary. I don't understand how after two years, Luke suddenly realized his mistake and decided that Lily was more important to him than his job. Which, by the way was the reason he left her. Two months I understand, but two years? Too unrealistic and silly. The whole story seemed too far-fetched and with every scene being so dramatic , this story felt ridiculous to me. Its a waste of time. Feels like a couple of chapters pulled out from some other book.

We meet Lily, daughter of known thief, and part of infamous Melbourne Family!
She was still nursing a broken heart after two years, her ex, Luke who happens to be a cop, turns up and quickly handcuffs her, he was tipped off about her breaking into a home to return some stolen jewels.
After getting over her ex turning up, it soon materialises that lily is being a scape goat, by the not so honest home owners of the jewels.
They end up holding a stakes out which is a catalogue of mistakes. Had me giggling. Glad it worked out for them both!
Kind of ridiculous story! She is the daughter of a famous thief, a criminal. He is an ambitious cop. Two years ago he broke up with her, because she told him about her dad. No, it is not right, but I do kind of understand his reasons. Now her dad has died and she has found some stolen jewellery. And.... She decides to break into a house to return the stuff. I mean, how idiotic can you be? He arrives to kind of arrest her and suddenly decides to help her prove her innocence. In the meantime they cannot stop mauling each other. And he forgets he is a cop.
This was a very cute little romance. Very, very short. But cute. I read it while I was getting a pedicure and it was definitely entertaining. I think it could have been easily made into a full-length novel with a lot more added to it to talk about the past that Lily and Luke had and to go more into the investigation and clearing Lily's name. And the sex scenes weren't bad at all. For a short story (which I'm not a huge fan of), it was cute.
A good novella with the potential to become much more. Good characters and a good backstory for them. Really wanted to see what could happen next between them.
