In Unseen Danger, Jerusha Agen masterfully merges high-stakes suspense with a rich exploration of Christian faith. Nevaeh Williams, who faces her past trauma while protecting others with her loyal K-9 partner Alvarez, embodies the intricate dance between fear and faith. Her journey through peril is as much about internal battles as it is about external threats.
The novel excels in portraying how faith profoundly fortifies personal resilience. Nevaeh's struggle with PTSD and Branson Aaberg’s challenges with family and career reveal a deeper, spiritual struggle that is as riveting as the action-packed plot. Agen’s writing goes beyond mere entertainment, inviting readers to witness how faith can reshape our responses to life’s trials.
Branson’s character, driven by his dedication to his father and his job, offers a raw and honest view of living out one’s beliefs in the face of adversity. In Unseen Danger, faith is not just an element; it’s a pivotal, driving force that influences decisions, molds character development, and lays the groundwork for overcoming obstacles. Agen crafts a narrative that is both exhilarating and profoundly reflective, making it a compelling choice for readers eager to see how faith intersects with life’s toughest battles.
I received a digital copy of Unseen Danger the author and Celebrate Lit Publicity Group. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. Oh such a beautiful compelling story!! Jerusha Agen delivers a fast-paced, thrilling, and inspirational suspense story peppered with swoony romance. I love how she writes about God working in people's lives to draw them closer to Him. Unseen Danger is filled with mystery, suspense and romance.
Strong and beautiful Nevaeh Williams works for the elite Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency. She struggles from PTSD from a bad attack she experienced six years ago and it rears it's ugly head occasionally, especially when she meets the huge bodyguard and security specialist Branson Aaberg. "Her chest still rose and fell rapidly, and her eyes were full of fear. His stomach twisted. His goal was to protect people, not scare them." "But there was something so magnificent about him, like Hercules come to life. She couldn't seem to look away." He is a sweet, caring and protective man whose faith is important to him.
Neveah's best friend and colleague Jazz, her boss Phoenix, and her grandpa "Pops" all try to help her get over her fear. Soon Branson gets to know her better and sees the signs of PTSD and doesn't want her to fight this alone. "Fear can be our worst enemy. You can't let it fester, or it'll grow until it controls you. You have to beat it." Her wise "Pops" wants her to get right with God. "Thing is, you rejected Him, but He never left you."
As the threats are coming in against Branson's client and Nevaeh, I was kept guessing until the very end of this page-turning suspense!
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own. I am looking forward to purchasing a copy for my keeper shelf!
I am so looking forward to Jazz's story in Lethal Danger the next book in the series!
Unseen Danger by Jerusha Agen Book 3 in the Guardians Unleashed series Rating: 4.5/5
After reading Rising Danger by the author, I was so impressed and couldn't wait to read more. I somehow missed the two books that came after but I was able to get my hands on the ARC for Unseen Danger and it did NOT disappoint! I absolutely just devoured the story. It was so good and I love the K9 unit aspect. I especially liked how the author did not shy away from exploring the aspects of trauma and its repercussions in our lives. If you are interested in a book that is full of fast-paced action and suspense with a heartwarming romance and beautiful message of faith and hope, you should read this story. You can definitely read it as a standalone but I will definitely be going back to read the other books in the series.
Highly recommend if you enjoy books that are fast-paced, delightful, suspenseful and romantic all at once!
My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.
Unseen Danger is the newest release by Jerusha Agen. The suspense, characters - Nevaeh Williams, from Phoenix K-9 Security and Branson Aaberg, a celebrity bodyguard, and storyline kept me engaged from the first page to the last page. I highly recommend this book.I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book with no obligation to post a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Unseen Danger is book 3 in Jerusha Agen’s Guardians Unleashed series.
I love this series, with the intense danger, wonderful romance, and awesome K-9s. So I’ve been looking forward to Nevaeh’s story and learning why she has a protection K-9 and an emotional support K-9. And wow, she has quite the backstory! What she survived, her strength and courage is inspiring! And I loved how the author created a hero in Branson who directly impacts Nevaeh’s fears.
The mystery also has great twists and turns that kept me guessing. Plus I loved seeing Alvarez, Nevaeh’s K-9 partner, in action. Most of all, I loved the characters. They were amazing. And I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
If you enjoy romantic suspense, you’ll want to check out Unseen Danger. It’s a great read!

If there is one thing I can always count on with the Danger Unleashed series it's edge of your seat suspense, and Unseen Danger is no exception. Jerusha Agen had me guessing from early on as I gleefully tried to unravel all of the threads alongside Neveah and Branson – and of course, one cannot forget the very important Alvarez 'Al'...
I've been a real fan of romantic suspense since first discovering the genre over two decades ago. I enjoy the mix of romance and danger and trying to figure out the culprit(s) before it's too late just as much now as I did back then. It's authors like Jerusha Agen and series like Danger Unleashed that keep me eagerly coming back for more – the fact that this series features working K-9s also doesn't hurt either.
Unseen Danger was particularly interesting as it not only shows a person actively dealing with PTSD but Jerusha Agen also lets her Danger Unleashed heroine ask the difficult question of where is God when the unimaginable happens. I also appreciated Branson's struggles with giving an answer for
Unseen Danger has all of the best in Christian romantic suspense and you remain glued to the page from start to finish. There is no real putting this story down because you just HAVE to know what happens next. I can tell you that I am already anticipating the next adventure for the Phoenix K-9 Security team as I know it is sure to be good one...
(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
A dramatic tale with K-9 protectors, danger, a famous rapper to guard, fear, PTSD, past trauma to deal with, a faith struggle, and much more fill this tense novel, which draws you right in. Twists and surprises throw you off guard and keep you flipping the pages to see what will happen next. The unique characters come across as realistic and make you feel for them. Readers can learn along with the main character how to deal with our fears and overcome them. The fast-paced story carries you along with its action, but I think it could have been tightened in places where the situations seem similar and repetitive. I have read other books by this author and have found them all exciting and filled with life lessons. If you enjoy clean thrillers, you should like this book. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
Unseen Danger is the first book of Jerusha Agen's I've read. It was an exciting and inspirational novel. This Christian Romantic Suspense novel was full of thrills and surprises. Nevaeh and Branson were the perfect main characters. I loved both of them as they struggled with fear and believing in themselves and wanting God's help in their lives.
Nevaeh is living with PTSD from an attack when she worked at a prison a few years ago. She still shows such courage in her job as a security specialist at the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency. Branson is a security guard for a celebrity whose life has been threatened. Nevaeh's team joins Bransons as they all face that "unseen" danger that truly is around every corner. These two somehow, with everything going on grow close. I loved how Branson was so kind and supportive of Nevaeh and his own family. Other stars in this novel are the security dogs that work for the Detection and Security Agency. It's amazing what these trained dogs do and how brave they are.
This book is #3 in a series but can be read as a stand-alone. If you are looking for an action-packed, slow-burn romance, with elements of faith and God's love then Unseen Danger will be a perfect read for you.
Unseen Danger is the third story in the Guardians Unleashed series by Jerusha Agen. This is such a great series. While the stories do have the same great characters and follow in order, they are also great stand alone stories. I just love the fast paced, action filled, suspenseful stories. In this one we meet Nevaeh, a member of the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency. She struggling with people and events in her past and the PTSD that followed them. Her current assignment is to keep a musician and childhood friend, D-Hop, safe. With threats coming from so many directions her team and D-Hop’s bodyguard, Brandon, are busy trying to find find who is behind them all.
I enjoy the close friendship the women of the agency have and how they look out for each other. We see the importance some of them put on their Christian faith and how they witness to others. I so enjoyed how the mystery of who is after D-Hop and and the feelings Nevaeh has work together. Even when Nevaeh is struggling, she is willing to do anything to keep those she loves safe.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.
It took a bit for me to really get into the story but once I did, man did it take off. The interaction between characters is as clipped and fast-paced as the story. The characters felt a bit flat to me but Neveah’s [SPOILER] gave a dramatic and riveting depth. Her inner battle against her past raging against her daily duties—and nighttime dreams. The author has crafted a taut story that keeps her reader guessing, generating suspicion on first one character, then another. Each [SPOILER] more daunting and intimidating—and terrifying—than the last. A page turner, this story urges the reader on to the startling end.
ROBIN’S FEATHERS THREE FEATHERS

Unseen Danger (Guardians Unleashed #3) - Jerusha Agen After a brutal attack, it took Nevaeh Williams six years to rebuild her life. Now a security specialist at the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency, she faces danger nearly every day. But when an old friend is targeted, her fragile stability begins to crumble. Celebrity bodyguard Branson Aaberg could lose more than his career if he fails to end the mysterious threat against his client. If the danger is real, Nevaeh's only hope for survival may be the God powerful enough to defeat her worst enemy-the one she doesn't see before it's too late. I loved, loved, loved Unseen Danger! Jerusha Agen managed its complexities and multiple dimensions so skillfully. I was pulled in just by the first sentence and wanted to figure out what was going on. The plot took some unexpected turns that I enjoyed being on the ride for. I was kept on the edge of my seat and didn't want to put the book down. Unseen Danger went deep and really touched my heart. I loved the Phoenix K-9 team and the bond portrayed. All the characters could be related to, and both Nevaeh and Branson were so lovable. Jerusha did a wonderful job showing their growth. I really like how she contrasted them-both at different points in their spiritual life, but both struggling with trusting the Lord. I got so attached to Nevaeh. My heart broke watching her battle her fear and overcoming her fear of Branson. I wanted to weep and enter the book to hug her: she was so broken because of her past. I rejoiced as she learned her safety and peace of mind didn't rely on herself or on Branson-that he wasn't the key to her couarge-but on the Lord. I was so happy when she surrendered to the Lord. Nevaeh is such a lovable heroine: strong, yet vulnerable, tough, yet sweet. I loved how the personalities of Alvarez and Cannenta was like both sides of her! Branson...where do we start?! I loved his integrity, the honesty of his struggle in walking with the Lord, the fact that his eyes were open to the spiritual darkness of the world he worked in, and his gentleness and sweetness with Nevaeh. He was plumb adorable around Nevaeh, and I loved how he was immediately smitten with her. He was also so cute with Princess! I loved him for wanting to do right before the Lord, and watching him grow as he learned to trust the Lord with his job, his life, and Nevaeh was so realistic. It was a joy to see him fully surrender to the Lord and rely on the Lord instead of himself for the safety of others! I didn't mean for this review to be so long...and even still I can't do this book justice! The suspense was amazing and the emotional parts so touching! Branson and Nevaeh are so sweet together! No amount of words can adequately praise Jerusha Agen and Unseen Danger! I wish I could give it more than five stars. Unseen Danger can be read as a standalone, but with how awesome it is...just get the whole series! I received an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this book with no obligation to post a positive review.
Wow! Jerusha Agen does it again. Unseen Danger is filled with edge of your seat suspense along with the sweetest romance imaginable. There is an amazing message about not being ensnared by fear and overcoming it with God’s help. The Phoenix K-9 women are amazing as always, and watching Nevaeh overcome her fear was a truly inspirational thing to read. Every time I read a book in the Guardians Unleashed series it is like visiting old friends, and I always gain something new to think about and take with me by the end of the story. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I was provided a copy of the book from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
Nevaeh Williams deals with the effects of PTSD from her time as a corrections' officer. Now she works as a security specialist with the Phoenix K-9 team. She is tasked with assisting with security for rapper D-Chop's concert. When some of the pyrotechnics appear to be tampered with at the show, D-Chop hires Nevaeh and the Phoenix K-9 team to supplement his security. Branson is worried that his job is on the line as D-Chop has brought in additional security. Are Branson and Nevaeh able to work together to keep D-Chop and his family safe? Will Nevaeh be able to push through her PTSD and be able to safely do her job? This is another great book in the Guardians Unleashed series. I have loved diving deeper into each member of the team through this series.
Danger is all around us every day. For most of us, it is unseen and never thought about. For Nevaeh, her PTSD keeps this at the top of her mind. How can she overcome the intense fear of being attacked again?
Branson is the head of personal security for D-Chop, a hip-hop rapper. There have been threats, various strange incidents, even fire - who has put this man in the crosshairs? A headache for the security, the Phoenix K-9s are asked to help. The threats become more frequent - will they be eliminated before someone gets killed?
An edge-of-your-seat suspense thriller that you will not want to put down. Seamlessly the author has woven the true power of giving all your fear and questions to God, who has promised and is always there. Will Nevaeh unleash that power before her fear ends her?
An early copy of Guardians Unleashed #3 was received through SDG Words. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.
“Unseen Danger” by Jerusha Agen is another wonderful book in this series. The author writes believable characters who aren’t always perfect, but strive to be the best people that they can be.
It’s so refreshing to read a book that has suspense, mystery, friendship, and even budding love but doesn’t stoop to using foul language to tell the story. Even though most of the story revolves around a celebrity rapper and the lifestyle that goes along with that, the author doesn’t dwell on those aspects but writes just enough so you get the point without unnecessary sordid details.
The mystery will keep you wondering and the characters will keep you coming back to learn more about them. Can’t wait for the next book!
Unseen Danger hits the ground running and does not let up. The action is fast and fierce, there are questions swirling around the entire narrative that you are craving to know the answers to, and there are parts where my heart was literally pounding, and I caught myself holding my breath.
Nevaeh is the heroine of the story, and it is clear she’s a fighter with a lot of strength. She is struggling with severe PTSD, but she fights to not let it consume her and interfere with her life, but it’s a constant battle. Watching her face her fears and fight to overcome them is something that was so empowering to me. She is a fighter through and through and her strength is truly an inspiration.
Branson is a Herculean hero after my own heart. He’s a Godly man with a heart of gold who is doing all he can to help his sick father while trying to figure out his own purpose in life. Not only does he have physical strength but his spiritual strength is also strong, as well as his heart to protect others. I loved the interactions that Nevaeh and Branson share together, as their chemistry is natural and beautiful, and it’s natural to root for these two.
My favorite part of the entire novel was the PK-9 unit themselves. I love each of them so much!! Their camaraderie is always fun and I love how solid they are, each having one another’s backs no matter what. One of my favorite scenes involved Phoenix and Nevaeh working through some of Nevaeh’s struggles and it’s clear that Phoenix cares about Nevaeh so much without any words being spoken. It’s so nice to see women who truly care about one another, and lift one another up.
Honestly, this was pretty close to the perfect read for me. The characters are realistic and engaging, the premise is entertaining, and you feel vested in this world, and the writing and overall flow was sheer perfection. The only part I wasn’t too crazy about was the ending of the final showdown as I felt like it was a little too unrealistic, but other than that this novel was great! I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to read a novel in this amazing series and can’t wait until I have the opportunity to read them all!
*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher through JustRead Tours. All views and opinions expressed are completely honest, and my own.
“Fear blinds you and controls you. But you can get rid of fear if you learn to handle whatever scares you and come out on top. Fear loses its power if you know how to defeat the thing that scares you.”
I have been wanting to read some of Jerusha Agen’s romantic suspense books for quite a while, and was very pleased when I could schedule in Agen’s Unseen Danger. A security specialist with PTSD! How on earth is this combo going to work?
I loved many aspects of the story. I loved the close friendship of Niveah and Jazz. They know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and are quick to have each other’s back. I loved the closeness of the Phoenix K-9 group. They are all very different, and some are persons of faith and some not, but all are loving and accepted, without judgment.
The PTSD that Niveah struggles with was difficult to read. As a phobia sufferer myself, I could identify with the feelings, if not the actions. It truly is crippling. I would agree that “Fear can be our worst enemy. You can’t let it fester, or it’ll grow until it controls you. You have to beat it.” However, sometimes a person in our fallen world needs a little medicinal or therapeutic help to get to the point where they can adequately deal with phobias and PTSD. I wish the author would have included a note that not only does one fight a spiritual battle against fear, but sometimes God has provided medicine and wise counsel to help a person be able to deal with those fears.
I thought Agen did a great job of showing the two main characters coming the end of themselves, finding that God is their only hope! I loved the twist at the end, as well as the storybook ending.
I received a copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. I also bought my own copy. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.
Notable Quotables:
“Have you asked God what He wants you to do?”
“Be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. He’d known exactly what he should’ve said. Exactly what would help D-Chop with his guilt and the dark hopelessness of his life.”
“You gettin’ lost in that darkness, child. Focus on the blessings.”
Wow! The suspense had me hooked from the beginning. This is the third book in the clean romance series Guardians Unleased. I have really enjoyed every book of the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection (PK-9) team series. The women on the team are courageous, confident, and are facing real-life struggles. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but I think reading them in order gives you a better understanding of the women’s strong bonds with each other and their dogs. This is Nevaeh Williams and Branson Aaberg’s story. Neveah had stopped believing in God after being assaulted and almost killed when she worked as a prison guard. Afterwards she joined the PK-9 team to help protect others. She thought she had trained and prepared enough to protect herself but when her life is in danger, she realizes the only one powerful enough to keep her alive was God.
“You are God’s greatest gift to me. From the moment we met, I couldn’t shake the feeling we’d been made for each other.”
Celebrity bodyguard Branson Aaberg’s client was in danger and Branson needed to keep his guard up. Even though he hates his job protecting celebrities, he needs his job to help his parents. He was attracted to Nevaeh but her lack of faith in God was one he could never overlook in a relationship.
The book was fast-paced, full of twists, and intense action. It was well-written, easy to read, and the wonderful characters had many layers. It was truly a journey of faith, hope, and suspense. I loved the book and could not put it down once I started it. Be prepared to sit down and spend the day reading because it is that good! I cannot wait for the next book. These women and their K-9s have found a way into my heart and I can’t get enough of them. I highly recommend reading this entire series.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I give Unseen Danger 5*/5*.

Unseen Danger, by Jerusha Agen, seemed to really get my blood pumping, from the very first page. As fire erupted and mayhem ensued, the fact that Rap Music Artist, D-Chop, needed safety became imperative. The security personnel hired to protect D-Chop, had a plan in place. Also hired in as extra security, Nevaeh Williams and her best friend, Jazz, who are a part of the Phoenix K-9 team, had just begun their walk-thru for the event when chaos reigned. Thankfully, because of Nevaeh’s quick thinking, the drummer, “Kicker” had a chance to survive once he was set aflame. That incident proved that the Rapper’s life was in jeopardy, invoking a necessity to keep him secure. In fact, having problem after problem led to too many warnings against D-Chop, and finally Nevaeh. The only solution that D-Chop wanted to entertain was additional security provided by Nevaeh and her team. Nevaeh insisted she should be part of the team walking his grounds, due to a debt her family owed D-Chop. He wanted security, for himself and his children, plus whatever “friend” wanted to visit them on a routine nightly basis. As I read this book, I thoroughly enjoyed Agen’s use of words to paint a picture of the situation as it unfolded. I could almost see through each episode against D-Chop and Neveah, as well as the fear the perpetrator attempted to implant to get his revenge. In the end, her faith finally overran the fear from which she was running from. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the first page to the last page. Author Jerusha Agen gave me this book to read for my honest opinion. I give it five stars out of five!
Although it’s best to read the series in order, this book can be read as a standalone. Nevaeh Williams works for a K-9 team and has spent years working her role after suffering a near death experience. She still struggles with PTSD to the point where she is afraid she’ll be unable to do her job. When Nevaeh meets Branson Aaberg, a bodyguard for a rapper who tried to save her brother’s life, she is afraid of Branson because of his size and strength. When the rapper and his family are threatened, Branson and Nevaeh must work together to protect the family and figure out who is behind the attacks before it is too late. I couldn’t stop reading this book every chance I got. The characters were compelling and realistic as well as the circumstances they faced. The suspense and dangerous situations were heart pounding and the romance was sweet and clean. Reading about the dogs from the K-9 unit was fun and made me appreciate my dog more for his protective tendencies. I especially appreciated the author’s focus on God and biblical truths, especially toward the end of the book. The truths of God’s salvation, trustworthiness, and presence were a source of encouragement to me, as well as emphasis on rejecting fear and its destructive effects. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the emphasis on the characters’ looks, but everything else was substantial and made for an excellent story. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series and I highly recommend this book! I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book for the author. A positive review was not required, and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
Nevaeh is a beautiful young woman with the Phoenix K-9 Security group. She is part of a highly trained group of people, who along with their dogs, dedicate their lives to the protection of others. Recently hired by the famous rapper, D-Chop, Nevaeh, and her co-workers patrol his grounds. She works with Branson, an intimidatingly large man, who provides security inside D-Chop’s home, and anyplace he goes.
As more and more incidents take place that endanger D-Chop, Nevaeh, and Branson endeavor to find out who is behind it. However, being with Branson can trigger Neveah’s PTSD, but she also finds him attractive. Neveah tries to work through both feelings while facing kidnappers, possible bombs, and furious parents that have a grudge with D-Chop.
Despite increasing security, things get worse, and D-Chop threatens Branson with the loss of his job. Danger and suspense dog their every step as they track the bad guy. While there is lots of action and mystery, family ties and friendship also play a big part in this tale.
I enjoyed this five-star story that kept me guessing the identity of the guilty, while the struggle Nevaeh had with believing in God added another tension to the tale. This exciting book will keep you turning the pages to the end. Fans of intriguing puzzles, or well-written books, will love this book.
Thanks to the author for providing Tickmenot with a book to review. Opinions are my own.
"Unseen Danger" is book three in the Guardians Unleashed series. I have read the other books and have really enjoyed them! I love the close knit group of the women K-9 protection unit and their dogs. They all have interesting stories and personal struggles to tell. I love learning how working K-9 dogs have different roles and what they can do to contribute.
Nevaeh was the main characters Guardian in this book. She has PTSD after a traumatic personal attack so she has a personal emotional support animal as well as a working K-9 for her protection job. She tries so hard to personally heal and recover from her anger and fear before it consumes her life and prohibits her from doing her protection job. Her struggles and emotions were real and relatable as we read about her journey towards healing.
Branson was another main character and the main bodyguard to rapper D-chop. After multiple accidents towards the rapper, they call in the Guardian protection team for extra help. Branson struggles with the lifestyle of the celebrities he works to protect, knowing its not the lifestyle he was raised to be in or what God would want him to do. His heart is in the right place with why hes working and what hes using his money for. He was a great friend to Nevaeh and respectful to the Guardian women team.
Emotional suspense with some clean romance along with elements of faith and God's love. I really enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend this series. Each book can be read as a stand alone book but I recommend reading them in order. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and views expressed are my own.
4.5 Stars I have enjoyed every book in the Guardians Unleashed series written by Jerusha Agen. This series follows a group of females and their amazing dogs that make up the Phoenix K-9 Security and Protection Agency. Agen continues the excitement and suspense with Unseen Danger. I was drawn right into the novel from the very first chapter. Who is causing the security issues? Who is the intended victim? A good quality suspense author will keep the reader guessing and turning pages to find out. Agen does just that.
Agen does not shy away from the faith theme in her books. In this story the two main characters are attracted to each other, but one of them does not share the other’s faith. The internal struggle that both face with this issue is realistic and thoroughly developed.
Hard topics such as PTSD are dealt with sensitively. Enough detail is given, but not overly graphic.
One of the elements that makes these books so interesting are the dogs that work with the ladies who make up the security force. Each dog is trained to perform specific duties with his handler. I really enjoyed reading about the various roles that the canines play in the agency.
Although this book is part of a series, Unseen Danger can be read as a stand-alone. If you have read the previous books, you will love to visit with the characters that were introduced in other books. However, if you are new to this series, the author gives enough background information that you can still enjoy the story.
I was given a copy of this book by the author. All opinions are my own.
Two private security teams and 1 rapper. Branson Aaberg was hired to protect a rapper named D-Chop. While prepping for a concert in his hometown, someone plans and carries out an attack, a bomb. Branson Aaberg owns Power Source Security, a private security firm and Branson is D-Chop's bodyguard and now that an attack was carried out, he realizes the threats that the rapper had received were for real. Nevaeh Williams and her K-9 partner Alvarez work for Phoenix K-9 Security, a separate private security firm. Nevaeh also grew up with D-Chop, he was friends with her brother and hung out at their house. Then something happened that she has never been able to express her gratitude about. This may be a good time to do that. In time. From the moment that she met Branson, Nevaeh was uneasy. He was big, muscular, and seemingly imposing, reminding her of someone that she wanted to forget about. Branson on the other hand, took one look at Nevaeh and he was instantly smitten. But he noticed that she seemed very uneasy around him, and he had no idea why. Nevaeh and Branson along with their other team members, had their work cut out for them trying to protect this rapper. Would Nevaeh be able to navigate how she feels about Branson, would she get to a point that he would not make her feel uneasy? Most importantly would she be able to open her heart to God, whom she has walked away from?
Thank you Jerusha for allowing me to be a part of this launch team. Thank you again for your patients.
Technically this is book three in the Guardians Unleashed series. But there is also a prequel-type book to go with the series so I’m saying it’s really book four. So go find the other three books to read first. Trust me when I say you’ll enjoy this book more when you’ve read the other three first. Can you read this by itself? Yes, I guess. If you really think you must. But why would you read only one book when you can read four?! I’m all for reading more books!
Naveah is our main character. She’s got anxiety and some PTSD. Read the first books to know why. Anyway her friend recognizes the PTSD in her and he wants her to get help while her grandpa wants her to get right with God again.
Branson is a bodyguard for celebrity. When his client has threats against them can he stop the danger in time?
Enter the Security and Detection Agency and Naveah.
This book reads fast. Like seriously. You’re going to need to have some uninterrupted reading time here. I started it way too late in the day and might have missed out on sleep but it was worth it. You’re going to be guessing and theorizing who could have done it and who is behind it the whole time. I highly recommend you read this book!

Unseen Danger is the third book in Jerusha Agen's Guardians Unleashed series. It is amazing to me how she continues to come up with the unique storylines in this series. But she does.
Nevaeh is a member of the Phoenix K-9 team. She also has PTSD from a terrible episode in her life. She has a protection K-9, Alvarez, and she has a support K-9, Cannenta. She's been assigned with a security detail for D-Chop, a Hip Hop performer who was a friend of her brother when she was a kid.
After a fire breaks out at the venue, she meets Branson, the head of D-Chop's personal security. It's totally NOT a meet-cute and it triggers a PTSD episode in Nevaeh.
The fire is one of several incidents in D-Chop's life. PK-9 is hired to provide outside security at D-Chop's home.
As they work together, Nevaeh's and Branson's relationship grows. But, Branson is a Christian and Nevaeh has turned away from God. Additionally, someone is stalking Nevaeh.
Of course, the rest of the PK-9 crew becomes involved. I want to be them when I grow up. I loved Nevaeh's grandfather, Pops. He is so wise and loving.
As with all of Jerusha's books, I didn't want to stop reading Unseen Danger. Even though I liked the ending immensely, I did not want the book to end. Because it's so good. I would truly recommend this book to all readers. Because it's so good.
I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review of Unseen Danger.
What I think you should know: Unseen Danger by Jerusha Agen is a Christian Romantic Suspense. It is the third book in the Guardians Unleashed Series, however it is really the fourth due to a prequel. I would recommend that you read the prior books starting with Rising Danger and it introduces many key members of the series in the Ladies of Phoenix K-9 group. This book features Nevaeh Williams and her Rottweiler mix, Al.
What you might need to know: Nevaeh struggles with PTSD due to a violent attack, she tries to hide how much it is impacting her life Branson witnessed a church shooting when he was younger, it guided him to become the man he is today.
What I think about this book: Agen has created a wonderful world with the ladies of Phoenix K-9, each story is full of twists and turns with danger around every corner, but God’s faithfulness shining throughout. Nevaeh's story touched me in a profound way. Oftentimes I struggle with why God allows bad things to happen to his followers. Nevaeh's Pop said “But I learned long ago, I got to trust Him ‘cause there ain’t no stopping Him” what a powerful message. I also appreciate how characters in the book come to realize that in a situation where they thought God had abandoned them, He was really there protecting them! I loved this book and look forward to more of Guardians Unleashed
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
Unseen Danger took me from "difficult to get into" to tears. What an emotional roller coaster. I had trouble getting into the story; I think because I had trouble caring that this promiscuous rapper was in danger. But as the author took me deeper into the internal struggles of these characters, I found myself pouring over the pages, cheering for Neveah and Branson. At first, it was difficult in my spirit to see the way D-Chop lived his life, but I can see how it was necessary to show our discontented Branson, as a Christian, was in silencing his faith. I was also intrigued the glimpse into the world of Black Americans and the struggles and dangers they face as a people group, as it's very different from the world that I grew up in. I liked the connection the author gave D-Chop and Neveah and also the soft side of D-Chop in regards to Neveah's family. This made him more likeable than he would have been otherwise.
By the end of this story, I was in tears. For a romantic suspense novel, Unseen Danger may be one of the most beautiful I've ever read. Neveah's emotional and Spiritual journey touched my heart. I could relate to her struggle to control her fear and heal from past hurt. I thought the author did a wonderful job at showing Branson's struggle to keep from loving Neveah knowing she did not share his faith.
I highly recommend this book for lovers of romantic suspense and for people who need an encouraging boost to trust God as he is "Mighty to Save."
