Vanessa lots her husband and vowed never to love again, then she met Emmett. She is still grieving the horrible loss but Emmett vows to be there for her until she is ready to love again. Fast-paced read with loads of drama and emotion. Great characters and plenty of steam. I liked it.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "LADY LUCK". KB WINTERS did a fantastic job writing this mazing book full of suspense, intrigue, angst, murder, trust issues, emotional turmoil, danger, loss, grief, fears, passion, twists that have you on the edge of your seat.
Vanessa lost her husband Lance the love of her life swearing never to fall in love again he worked for the Ashby Crime Family when he was murdered.
Emmett use to be a fighter he deals with PTSD now working for Ashby Crime Family training fighters after getting out of the arm he's aware of what they do he was like family to them even though not by blood.
Emmett loves Vanessa he knows she needs time to grieve her loss hell protect her no matter what until she's ready for more he be waiting for his lady luck.
Emmet deals with his military issues it's hard for him he doesn't want to bring that to Vanessa will she be able to love again give him a chance their attracted to one another can they get a HEA.
Vanessa gets a job at the casino making Emmett go into protective mode for her he takes her home nightly two rivals of Ashby Crime Family target her will survive what's to come you must get this book to see what happens.
I definitely recommend to get the entire Ashby Crime Family Series so well worth the read it won't disappoint I loved Emmett & Vanessa's journey to get a second chance she's his "lady luck" I can't wait to see what KB WINTERS had instore for us next. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!

This is not a gentle or sweet story! This is a story that is brutal and viscous with dabs of romance in between the pages. No one writes it better than KB! It is a story that draws you in even when you do not see it coming while captivating you with men and women that stand together and alone. If you have the pleasure of meeting just one of these people count yourself lucky or maybe unlucky depending on which side your on! It will alarm you with all the sordid details. It has the good bad within each character. If you want to tangle with the Ashby Crime family you better come prepared to lose everything but gain all that you could ever want or need. They are NOT to be trifled with, they will consume you with a urgent brusqueness that will put you on a collision course with a destiny that not many can handle yet want. If you have the pleasure of catching the eye of the Ashbys either by blood or by adoption you better be prepared to pay the piper and play with the devil. They all have attributes that are superior and a wickedness within that at some point you will call upon. So prepare yourself if you fall in with one of these remarkable men or women. They will take you to new heights and bring you low. You will fall in love with them and they will ruin you in such a tremendous way that you will not want to escape. Gather this whole series and be amazed with this incredible family!

Pain comes in many forms…. emotional pain, physical pain, mental pain …. they all hurt and Vanessa knows that all too well.

Everyone has a past to deal with and Emmett is no different. He’s a fighter in more ways than one.

In this continuation of The Ashby Crime Family, don't be surprised if you keep turning the pages. It just draws you in and has you wanting to know what’s happening, what's coming next.

Vanessa is grieving the cruel death of her husband, her childhood sweetheart. Emmett is drawn to Vanessa and will protect her at all costs. After all, this is a book where the really bad guys are out to win no matter what it takes, and the ‘good’ bad guys have your back. Yeah, I know, it sounds complicated. But this author has a way of drawing you into the story so that you love and root for those ‘good’ bad guys.

Yes, there is angst, mayhem and death …. all the things that a world of crime brings. But there also is humor and love. The road Vanessa and Emmett must travel isn’t easy but they find a way to drive up life's narrow, curvy and mountainous road and make it to the top without crashing.

… I took a star away as I have a hard time with reading my creator’s name used in vain, even in a crime family saga.

Emmet worked at the Ashby fight training centre though he wasnt blind to their other criminal activities, he was like family to them and after getting out of the army it was a good job to focus on. Vanessa had lost the love of her life in Lance who was killed and shes been trying to peice together her life and future without him, after being a military wife and moving around alot she never had much time to make friends but between helping nurse Kat back to health after her attack and aiding Maise in wedding plans Vannese felt more hopeful. When Fiona, a card girl at one of the Ashby casinos is brutally murdered the Ashbys go on alert but Kat offers the open job position to Vanessa without her knowing about Fiona and when Emmet learns of Vannessa new job he goes into protective mode. They share a knowing of grief but could their be more between them growing? Can Vannesa move on from her past to accept another future, can Emmet keep Vanessa safe from the enemies of the Ashbys. Well written with a good story line that's nicely paced through out. With action, desires, love, loss and hot scenes this is a great addition to the Ashby Crime family series

I got this book because I enjoy any book written by KB Winters. This is the 4th book in the Ashby Crime Family series. Usually it is not hard to pick up a book in the middle of the series. However, I highly suggest to NOT jump into this series. Please read these books in order. I found that I didn’t have any of the backstories on characters and their relationships or how they became involved.

What I could follow was due to the excellent skills of the author. Ms. Winters gives great depth to the characters and how they interact with each other. I was able to enjoy and complete the book even without having read the previous books in the series. However, I am going to get the rest of the books so I can read the series in order. Even with everything that I have said as to being “lost” at times in the beginning , I still enjoyed the book well enough to rate it a solid 4 1/2 stars.

Overcome the grief
The narrative in this part is a bit grim whether it's the murder of an Ashby staff member, or the past of the main characters of Vanessa and Emmet: she's a widow and she needs time to get over her grief. Emmett is attracted to Vanessa, but his military past is heavy for him and the context of criminal war which begins to rise around the Ashby family increases fears, pressures, doubts.
The guilt that stands in the way of the will to evolve and go on living continues for a long time in the story. It is certainly a choice to make people feel the mourning and overcome it, but at the same time, it weighs on history.
The narrative, however, also has some very steamy scenes which are developping with the story which remaining a romance.

4 1/2 Stars

I had a hard time believing joe Kat placed Vanessa in the middle of danger by having her take Fiona’s place in the underground gaming hall. The same Fiona who was brutally murdered and grotesquely filmed as it happened.
Vanessa’s own grief in losing her husband Lance had left her floundering.
Sadie ran the notorious Ashby family with an iron fist. Her control and approval was highly respected/feared by her grown children.
Emmett and Vanessa were connected to the Ashby’s enough to incur the wrath of their enemies.
I liked the way Emmett was not a dog or a player. It made his attraction and attention on Vanessa romantic and sweet.
In the midst of the dark violent culture and lifestyle, their romance grew.
Dark, well written with intense passion and raw graphic scenes.

Lady Luck or Lady Love? Is she going to find love again so soon?
Vanessa is still grieving the murder of her husband Lance. But her friends, part of the Ashby family have been keeping her busy and now they have offered her a job when they have their private high stakes poker games. But what she doesn’t know is the woman who did the job before her was brutally murdered, and she’s getting very close to Emmet, an employee and long time friend of the Ashby’s. He knows she’s possibly in danger and is trying to keep her safe by driving her home at night. But can he keep her safe when it looks like possibly two different rivals to the Ashbys might be targeting her? I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Vanessa lost her husband, and she is still grieving over him, they had so many plans that they didn't get to do, because he was taken so early. Can she give the protective Emmett a chance or is it too soon to move on? Emmett has links to the same crime family that Vanessa's husband worked for, but he wants more than to just be friends. Will he be friend zone by this stunning widow? I loved the steam between these two, the dangers they faced, and the hints of other series (Reckless Bastards MC). Both Vanessa and Emmett are easy to love, and I couldn't help wanting them to get their happy ending.

Lady Luck...

Ashby Crime Family book 4. So this was a like/ hate read for me. Although I love the Ashby family, this book had me asking more questions than answers. Vanessa is Lance's widow. She falls for Emmet and battles guilt and other things related to Lance death. Emmet has PTSD and deals with it or not as he falls for her. There is a war going on with the Ashby family. Emmet needs to choose who he needs to be. So many questions! What the hell is going on with Calvin and Bonnie? Who killed Fiona? Where is Savannah? Why did Emmet let Brendan go? And is Jasper getting a book? Dramatic and angsty so I have it 3 stars.

Lady Luck🍀

Emmett and Vanessa are the next story in this action-packed series about the Ashby Crime Family and I have to admit I wasn’t expecting them to be next but I can honestly say it was a great addition to the series❣️

Vanessa is still trying to figure out her life now that she’s no longer part of a couple because of her husband’s passing😢 Emmett and Vanessa have become good friends but his feelings are slowly changing but he’s prepared to wait until she’s ready to move on😍

Loved this couple and I’m especially enjoying this series and super excited to see what happens next❤️ I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and I willingly leave my honest review😁

First let me say I have loved this entire series and would recommend it to anyone now I do believe that you need to read this entire series in order You could be confused with out the back stories that you need to really understands this world

Emmet and Vanessa are really not members pf the immediate Ashby family but that doesn't mean that they are not integral parts of the family Emmet has ben adopted by the matriarch and runs their fighting gym after retiring as a fighter Vanessa is a widow of one of the soldiers for the family and they will always care for her. When these two meet there is an instant attraction but can it become more You will have to read to see

I am a fan of this series and this author. This is the 4th book of the Ashby Crime Family. I love how compelling and captivating this fast paced story is. It's a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you engaged from start Don’t get me wrong, this can be a tough read. It has parts in that made me cringe. There’s a lot of violence so be warned but no one write this kind of story better. Read them in order and get the full advantage- trust me this is a series worth it’s weight in gold.

I seriously thought KB couldn't do any better than her MC guys. However, my friends, I was so, so wrong.

This Ashby Crime Family is fantastic. I've read each and every book and in my humble opinion, they just keep getting better and better. Great characters, with deep emotional angst and enough drama and suspense to keep you up way pat your bedtime trying to find out what happens next.

I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good, emotional, sometimes HOT AS HELL love story. Don't miss out on this great series.

An amazing emotional intense romance. This engaging storyline had ghosts of the past, mayhem, drama, fear, danger, death around a crime world based story but also includes love and humor. The characters are interesting, well developed and have great chemistry as they find their HEA but it ending on a cliffhanger around the crime family. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC and can't wait to continue the family drama.

Love

A nice story. Emmett has to let go of the past to find his true family, while he fell for Vanessa. Vanessa has to let go of her grief and learn who she is now. The friendship to love was so sweet really, I mean Emmett is a teddy bear but in control and Vanessa can't resist. It was a good story and once again I love this family and how they come together to handle the threats.

A captivating book four in the Ashby Crime Family series! The storyline is fast pace, action-packed, engaging, funny, witty, and well written with suspense, ups and downs, pain, grief, healing, strong family ties, twists and turns, danger, and more. The characters you will love; the chemistry between them is undeniable and off the charts. Definitely recommended.

Another great read.

Oh my! I couldn't put this down.
(Like, "make your own dinner"- could not put it down)... :)
Emmett is so hot with Vanessa!

I enjoyed this one so much. As usual, KB crafted this story to allow the reader to be completely immersed in the Ashby family. Again. And it was great!!

I strongly recommend reading the series in order to get the most from this story.

I really enjoyed this one, the characters were real and entertaining.
Vanessa is a widow, she has feelings for Emmett...is it too soon to move on?
Circumstances throw these two together, she's in grave danger. Can he save her in time?
Emmett has demons of his own, he's falling for her. Will he slow down enough for her not to run?
Lots happening in this story, I was very entertained.

“We rarely get what we deserve in this life,”

Nessa lost her bearings when she lost her husband. Emmett has tried to stay on the fringes of the family business, but when trouble comes to the door, he doesn’t have a choice. When they come together, will they light an everlasting fire, or just burn? Super read! Amazing series! Enjoy!!!

This is the excellent fast paced story of Nessa and Emmett. Nessa, the grieving widow and  Emmett, the one who wants to help her heal.. Lady Luck is tragically beautiful and though their journey is definitely not easy, these two fight their way through to their happily ever after. Well done Ms. Winters.
