Thick, with glossy, colourful pages of excellent photography. This is not only about mountains. It also has photos in chapters (presented with brief introductions) about icy rivers in high-altitude mountains, mountain/rock climbing as a high-altitude sports, people who live in mountains, forests, bases in the mountains and bodies of water therein.
It doesn’t have anything on the Philippines, however. Not even the majestic Mayon (the volcano with a PERFECT cone). A pity.
Nice, easy pictorial book. Beautiful pictures. The book covers all types of mountain aspects such as peaks, valleys, glaciers, reflections, villages, climbers, skiiers, animals.
Very good book for a photographic reference of many mountains across the world. But I couldn't find any reference to many of the famous/known (example: Kanjanjunga - third highest mountain on Earth )mountains in this book.
