Rate this book
Welcome to Xambore Academy, a magical school for orphans, located in the belly of an ancient castle, where some of the strangest stories unfold. Professor Oublie, a wise wizard, had one very controversial belief that he passed on to each new student who passed through the academy’s ancient and mysterious ‘Love is more powerful than magic.’ One of his students, Armen, is compelled to explore dangerous corners of the castle, where a young girl named Leena has been frozen in time, held captive by an evil witch. Knowing he may never return from the witch’s lair, Armen will either ignore his heart, or embark on this perilous journey. If he cannot overcome the evil witch’s curse, neither love nor magic will save him. ~ The Girl in Tower Seven is a short-story packed with action, intrigue, and a sweet bond between two magical students. ~

From the paranormal to the magical Ali Kaden never ceases to amaze me with his story telling.

The Girl in Tower Seven captivated me from the start as Armen eagerly awaits the day to come when he will be gifted his wand, a wand that all wizards get as they start their 6th grade year at Xambore Academy.

Not only does the anticipation of getting his first wand have him excited for the year ahead but so does the fact his professor is one of the greatest wizards to ever live.

As Armen and his classmates learn from Proffesor Oublie they learn of a tale so aghast the professor doesn't even wish to speak of it and that only entices Armen more. What if he is the one destined to save the girl in the tower?

That and more are answered in the young adult fantasy short story that not only captivates the love that children have for others but also the story of a long-lost love.

Ali Kaden has captivated me with his other books but there was something about this one that seriously struck me. I believe it is because for such a short story the impact was immensely powerful. Too often short stories don't pack the intended punch, but Kaden hit the mark in every way with The Girl in Tower Seven.

My son and I decided to attack this short story together once he found out it was about witches and wizards. It’s a short story, geared to children so getting his opinion seemed like a solid idea.

The magic within these few pages is solid and it has the potential to turn into something more. This could definitely be made into something more for children that are looking to get into fantasy reads.

My son, loving the magical school element, wishes that there had been more to it. This is his first short story and he seems to prefer novels, but he did ask if there was more coming!

We agreed that 4⭐️ is solid for it. He wants more and honestly - so do I!

You know when you just find an author you click with? Like that author seems to just have this style about them that you love so much and just devour?

Ali Kaden is like that. It doesn’t matter what he writes. I’m first in line with a stick to beat everyone off just so I can have it first. His style is so unique, and I love that he doesn’t stick to a mold. He just… writes.

And as usual, The Girl in Tower Seven is no different. This is not my typical read. It’s a YA Fantasy, but ya’ll. It doesn’t matter because it’s still so good. It revolves around a young man who gets himself tied up in a huge mystery at the magical academy he attends. There are magical signs that point him to all the answers he needs until he finally just decides that, one day, he’s going to be brave and unravel the mystery once and for all.

I wish I had this book growing up. I really do because this is the type of book that would have expanded my mind and my writing and reading horizons at a much younger age. Don’t get me wrong, I love the classics I grew up with, but this… Well, this has the power to be a classic for this younger generation and for so many more in the future and beyond.

It’s really a beautiful book that I’m honored I got to read.

With the story telling Ali Kaden does he never ceases to amaze with his story telling.

The Girl in Tower Seven caught me from the start as Armen excitedly awaits the day to come when he will be gifted his wand, a wand that all wizards get as they start their 6th grade year at the Xambore Academy.

The thrill of getting his first wand has him excited for what's to come but the fact his professor is one of the greatest wizards to make this year all the more thrilling and excitement ahead for him.

Armen and his classmates learn from the Proffesor a tale so out there and hard to grasp that the professor doesn't even wish to speak of it and we all know that will only entice these kids because of the unknown.

Ali Kaden has captivated me with his other books. Not many short stories seem to hit that intended punch, but Kaden hit the mark in every way with The Girl in Tower Seven. And I'd gladly let me pre-teenager read this!!!

I usually do not read book gear toward children but when I was asked to read this I decided to ask my 7 year old if he would like to read it with me. Since he was learning to read we did it together. But he loves anything to do with magic wizards and witches. This book had everything in that and more. My son loved following the adventures of Armen. I do not like to have spoilers in my reviews so I will leave it at this. If my 7 year old enjoyed this I truly believe any child even adult would live to follow the adventures in this book.

For it being a short story I was worried about how much world building would be involved but it was perfect! It was a page turner from the first page. Armen was a very enjoyable character, he is set up with an ultimatum and he sticks true to his decision. I was wanting more, I hope to see more about these characters later on!

A nice story about love!

And also using the title for multiple meanings! Inventive spells too! Some reveals were pretty obvious, but the third person objective POV means we're not blinded by being in the moment like the characters are, and not like those holding secrets were trying hard to hide them! Heh.
