i didn’t know that i needed this novella and here i am loving the hell of it. the expression "im officially of the age where i can date you… or your dad" makes suddenly prefect sens. I WOULD DIE TO HAVE AN IRL EDEN MAN.🥲

"Darlin’.” I rolled to my back and took her with me, hauling her onto my chest. “We’re screwed.”
“What do you mean?” She sat up, her eyes narrowing as she tucked a lock of hair behind an ear.

i guess the apple did fall far from the tree sometimes. how come the Eden daddy make me feel for him through these measly pages more than the Eden children ever could in their individual full length novel?? Harrison is officially my favorite Eden. i dont remember how he was in his kids books, but he simply seemed more ‘alpha’ or more ‘man’ than any of the Eden brothers. he has a playful/flirty side, but hes the type who knows what he wants and goes after it. hes responsible, and hes such a family man. ahh i adore him. ♥

the romance in this novella is a second chance. it surprised me that i didnt mind it. something about the story felt straightforward or to the point. the MCs broke up when they were in high school over a conflict that seemed silly or trivial (the h’s virginity). the H never knew the reason he was dumped until they reunited in this short story six years later. i appreciated how the H admitted to being a dumbass and immediately apologized. something about him realizing his past mistake, taking responsibility of it, and conquering what he wanted (the h) speak volume about his character. i love that.

I read Crimson River which is #5 in this series. I was looking for something fun and easy. Just a little tidbit to read. This was a little short story about second chance loves who correct a longstanding misunderstanding. It’s entertaining for a quick romantic read.

The Edens a legacy short story is about the Eden parents! So a sort of prequel if you will that takes us back to the 80s when the Eden parents get their second chance romance, before their 6 kids which the series has been following!

This story starts off on New Year’s Eve Eve, getting ready to ring in 1988! Anne Snow is home from college and ready for a weekend getaway to spend time with her two best friends from high school who she hasn’t seen much of in the past 3.5 years. Things are going great, that is until Harrison Eden shows up, her highschool ex she hasn’t seen in 6 years, and they’re forced to share a room/bed! Harrison is determined to find out why Anne broke up with him back in highschool, and maybe win her back…

“A better man would have bowed out of this trip when he’d learned his ex-girlfriend was coming along. A better man would have let her enjoy the weekend with her friends. Except I wasn’t a better man. And it had been too damn long.”

This was cute and short, like 50 pages or less, and it’s on KU now! It originally was printed in a winter anthology from multiple authors for the bookish box. Snowy cabin Montana vibes, a little second chance romance, and seeing the Eden parents before they decided on those 6 kids they’d later have!

перше підліткове кохання, дурна причина розставання, другий шанс. і не вистачало тоді лише один раз поговорити, щоб не було цих 6 років розлуки.. але Гаррісон у 18 козел, тому Енн все правильно тоді зробила. виріс і ситуація покращилася, але це так кринжово, коли вони ще не встигли зійтися, а дітей уже планують) коротше, не буду про це думати, коли читатиму наступні книжки про Лайлу та Матео.

ставлю 2/5 ⭐️ з натяжкою, бо просто мені подобається ця серія і їхня сім'я.
