Trick Play was a sweet romance about Reed and Peyton, two people who had an instant connection but let the present interfere with their future. The push and pull between these two had you on the edge of your seat at times with Peyton struggling to hold herself back. Family commitments played heavily in their journey and at times were huge hurdles. The chemistry between these two was off the chart and the heat and steam radiated off the pages. A sweet love story that had Reed pulling all the tricks he could play to keep the woman he loved in his arms.
Another great, short, hot, steamy read by Britney Bell. I can't get enough of the Texas Tornados.
Peyton was out with her friends and on a dare, she kissed the hottest guy there. Only to find out that he is on the Texas Tornados and in her dad's bar to be close to her.
So when she loses her place to live, he offers her a place to stay and a romance. But can they find a happily ever after between her father and his bar?.

I thought this was a sizzling hot romance. The chemistry between Peyton and Reed was scorching from start to finish. I had to admit that Peyton did drive me a bit crazy as I wanted to shake some sense into her. Reed on the other hand was totally swoon-worthy and is such a gentlemen. I am really enjoying this series so far.

My my.. Where can one find herself a man like Reed? I adore him.. Despite her being his choice, I'm not sure she deserves him. The man waited for her for 2 years and at the first sign of trouble she bolted. I get her reasons but come on... Ok moving on
I loved the pacing of the story. Despite it being very short, it didn't feel rushed at any point. I loved him from the beginning, liked her enough and was happy that he got his HEA, which he more than deserved.

Trick Play is the fifth book in the Texas Tornados series. This series is set around the professional football team, the Texas Tornados. The story is about Peyton and Reed, in a friends to more romance. The story is fast-paced, sweet, saucy, delightful, and romantic swirled together with family, friends, rules, and a lot of sizzling chemistry that is just waiting to explode and burn brightly. This is a wonderful addition to the series.
They met when Peyton's friends dared her to kiss the next guy that walked up to her. Reed might have been taken back from the kiss, but quickly took control. When they meet again, it is only to realize they can't be because of her father, but this does not stop Reed from spending time at the bar she works.
Good story with a bit of heartbreak about the time that is waisted. Love the chemistry between Reed and Payton and how he is there for her even when she pushes him away.
Good story.

Trick Play is book 5 in the Texas Tornados series. It is a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, friends-to-lovers sports romance. Peyton is a sweet, sassy, and hardworking bartender at her father's pub. Sparks fly, and they share a steamy night of passion. But Peyton's dad is a stickler about no dating the bar patrons. Further, her father is sick, and Peyton doesn't want to stress him. For 2 years, Peyton and Reed remain friends only, but its killing them both. When her father goes to Ireland for a few months, she and Reed resume their relationship. But what happens when her father returns? Their chemistry was hot enough to burn down a city, holy hotness 🔥🥵. After a bit of family drama, we do get a fantastic HEA. Loved this short and spicy read.

This was such a fun book to read. I quickly git sucked into the dynamics between the MCs, and began rooting for Reed to break through Peyton's shell. The characters of both Reed and Peyton were so nicely developed throughout the story I could see the growth clearly. Poor Peyton was definately struggling with the bar, her father & his illness, abd her own desires. How much was she expected to balance on her two shoulders?!
Reed was so perfect! We all need someone like him in our life. When he was happy, I was happy, but when he hurt, I cried (yeah, yeah...I know). Honestly though, how could I not!?!
These two seemed made for eachother and they had such firey chemistry. But would what they had be enough in the end?
I would say you just have to read this book. It is my first in this series, but I plan to go back abd catch up - quickly. This was an ARC but my review was voluntary.
A good storyline. A forbidden romance. Reed and Peyton meet at her fathers pub. and he doesn't allow her to date the customers. I was hooked from the beginning and I have enjoyed each book in the series. a must read.

I’m loving this series so much! Each character in each book is perfect for each other especially these two! I loved this one just as much as all the others. The chemistry between these two is great! The way the story played out was awesome and the ending to this one was amazing! I can’t wait to read more. Great work!.

A swoony sweet addition to the Texas Tornados series. This story focuses on Reed and Peyton’s obstacle ridden relationship. Very fast paced and filled with controlling family, doubts, chemistry, secrets, hidden feelings, determination, patience, steamy moments,a bit of kink, perseverance, realizations and love. At times I was frustrated with the FMC and her continuing angst and unwillingness to choose Reed. Reed was so gentle sweet and patient (not to mention hot). HEA.

Peyton is a fiesty lady who loves her dad, whom she runs their pub with. They have a lot of the players at their bar, so her dad makes up this rule that she can't date any of them. Well as luck would have it, she has a one night stand with one and they can't forget it each other. But Peyton is loyal to her dad and decides to just be friends.
Reed is a real sweetie and knows about her dad's rules and doesn't want to cause trouble for Peyton, but he still goes to see her every day. When she is suddenly put out by her landlord, Peyton moves in with Reed, and the rest is history. This was a nice short read.

This is a well written sports romance with strong characters in Reed and Peyton. The author does a great job developing their relationship and gives them a smokin hot chemistry. One thing stands in their way of being together ... her father and his rules. This is their story. The story moves quickly and smoothly and is a terrific read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I never thought I would like books about jocks, but man was I wrong. This book made me sad, mad and drool. Lots of passion and hotness. So worth the read!!

So every day Reed goes to Mickey’s which is Peyton father’s Bar to see her. But the father doesn’t approve. So will these two have their happily ever after. Just have to read to find out. There is some hot and steamy scenes thought out the book. I received this as an arc copy and am voluntarily writing this review
Reed has obsessed over Peyton for two years . He hooked up with her but she told him, he needed to zip it and not just his trousers. …..The Irish bar where Peyton Bartends is her father Mickey’s . Reed is a wide receiver for the Texas Tornadoes whose Stadium is close by the pub , and the whole team frequents.Mickey had to fly off to Ireland for a new kidney. His one rule to Peyton is NO fraternising with the Patrons!Peyton is left with no place to go after her landlord gives notice so Reed gives her a solution , his place!Well …. It’s a whole lotta steam and a beautiful cute story that cries out for closure …. Pey whose eyes aren’t the only things open wide to receive Reed’s tongue lashing moments of climatic splendour. He strikes , he shoots he scores ! Enough steam to run an engine. Written in the most sublime ,euphoric and descriptive way the reader thinks she’s playing gooseberry ! I love Brittany Bell’s fluent work, a full head of steam but told in a lovely romantic way. Great relatable characters and scenarios. The back story is superb too and builds the whole thing beautifully.
Trick Play is a fantastic sports romance, which is the fifth book in the Texas Tornados series. Each book that I have read from the Texas Tornados series, has been absolutely remarkably entertaining and an absolute pleasure to read. Trick Play follows the tale of Peyton and Reed who are absolutely amazingly entertaining and enjoyable to see their amazing story come to life. I absolutely loved getting to know both Peyton and Reed. I feel sorry for the way Peyton’s life is dictated by her controlling father. Reed is an amazing guy who is love with a girl from afar for the past year, but he knows that he can’t do anything about his feelings for her from the fear of risking her being hurt from several angles. Reed has decided to stick to being her friend, rather than not having her in his life. Author Britney Bell continues to hold my interest in her amazing romance books. Trick Play is a book that I would certainly give this amazing book as a suggestion to anyone whose looking for a fun sports romance to read.

Trick Play is a sweet and intense novella with a great male lead in football star Reed, and headstrong female lead Peyton driving him crazy. I adore how he loves her and is so devoted to her no matter what. Peyton is a spitfire and yet she always folds to her father’s will. It’s so fascinating to observe this grown woman obey her father’s dictates, and I love how Reed addresses it. This is a quick and dirty story with heat and heart.

Trick Play by Britney Bell is the 5th novel in the Texas Tornados Series, and is the story of Peyton, a hard-working, driven young woman, who has spent years running her father’s pub, and encounters Reed Anderson, an NFL wide receiver who has fallen in love with her. Peyton’s father reminds her constantly that she is there to help him run the pub and that there is no fraternizing with the customers, of which Reed is one of his most loyal and frequent patrons due to his feelings for Peyton. Without a doubt, Ms. Bell knows how to create male characters that leave me breathless! Ms. Bell’s portrayal of Reed is so amazing she has brought to life this physical giant of a man, who dominates a room with his presence and model-like good looks, but who is completely and hopelessly in love with Peyton, a little slip of a woman who is feisty and filled with an ability to multitask with efficiency and accuracy, boundless energy, and good will. Peyton single-handedly not only runs her father’s business, but is also the bartender, waitress, hostess, cleaning crew, and bookkeeper. Family is so important to her that she has sacrificed her own plans and future to stay and help her father who needs a transplant. Peyton reciprocates Reed’s feelings, but is afraid he will be traded to another city and she will remain chained to the pub, with her heart forever broken. Their physical chemistry sizzles, the care and adoration Reed shows Peyton will take your breath away, and their attraction and passion for one another, despite their best efforts, will send you running for a cold shower! I could not put Trick Play down once I started reading and finished it in one sitting. This novel is captivating, emotional, and hot, and you need to read it NOW!!.
Forbidden fruit is always the sweetest! Reed has been in love with Peyton for a while now. They had a great night together, before they knew who the other was. But she's the bartender at the team's favorite place, and her father has a strict no fraternizing with the customers policy. So instead, he'll be the best customer they have. Even though the old man gives him dirty looks every time he goes in. But he gets to see Peyton, so it's worth it. But then Peyton's father goes back to Ireland for his health, and Peyton suddenly loses her apartment. Reed offers her his spare bedroom until she can find another place. You know, just as a friend. Things inevitably heat up between them, as Reed was hoping. But what will happen when her father comes home? Will Peyton be able to put her happiness first? This was a fun read, with a very patient guy waiting for the reluctant girl that he can't let go. She a slave to duty and respect for her father, and she doesn't want to rock the boat. He'll do anything to convince her that what they have is worth it. A great addition to the series. We catch up with the friends and teammates we've met before. Can't wait for the next one!.

Overall, this is a cute, fun, quick read when you need something fast and easy to read.
Reed, a football player, is not like most players, as he has his sights set on Peyton. Peyton, helps run her father’s pub, likes Reed also however refuses to act on it as she knows her father would not approve. When her father has to go away for surgery, she gives in to her own feels and her and Reed become a couple. But they have some uphill battles to overcome.
Since this is a novella a few things I can get past. The plot is solely about the relationship, and a bit rushed. Peyton, not my favorite MC as she doesn’t communicate nor stand up for herself. But that’s my pet peeve and only my opinion.
Love the Parker Airline shout out! Very cute!.

A delightful, sports romance. Reed Andersson is a wide receiver for the Texas Tornados. Peyton O'Connor helps her father run an Irish pub near their stadium. They've known each other for a couple of years, but her father's rules prohibit them from dating.
Britney Bell does a superb job providing the pair a chance at becoming a couple. Characteristic fears and insecurities play significant roles. This story introduces spanking and dominance into their physical relationship. Overall, it's an interesting read.
Reed is a member of the Texas Tornados. Peyton runs her fathers bar near the stadium and has added tension due to her father needing a transplant. Her father also had the strong rule of no dating of customers and Reed always wants his eyes on Peyton. The characters are terrific and the storyline goes through a lot of big decisions before the ending. One of the biggest is Reed being transferred to another team and her not being able to leave her father while he is sick. Such strong feelings and emotions keep them together, ready to overcome whatever tries to separate them. Heartwarming reactions to each other and a strength that can get them through. Loved the ending.

- Friends to lovers - He falls first - Slow burn - Sports romance
This book was a quick and satisfying read. I was so in love with Reed - he knew what he wanted right from their first kiss - Peyton. But Peyton's father doesn't want her dating a football player like Reed.
When Peyton's dad returns to Ireland for medical care and Peyton finds herself as Reed's roommate, they find it impossible to stay away from each other. But with Peyton working at her father's bar and Reed having the possibility of getting transferred, will theirs be a happy ending?.

Hawaiian Style. Fantastic. Reed has been in love with Peyton for two years after their one night together. But, she works for her father at the bar where he and some of his teammates hang out and her father has a strict no fraternization rule for her. So, to everyone they are just friends. When Pey suddenly needs a place to live and her father is out of the country she moves in with him. They start building a relationship and are happy until her father returns and is furious. When Reed returns home from an away game Pey has moved out without a word. What the heck happened?.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. A fast paced easy to read short story that was steamy and sweet. Reed is an absolute sweetheart and his actions are just swoon worthy. Didn't really like Peyton but that's a personal preference since I like strong female leads and she just came across as lacking. The issue with her father isn't resolved on page but he does finally give his blessings with a sweet HEA at the end.
