In the age of Amazons, fighting spirit and a courageous heart revealed a warrior’s true strength. Threso proved her prowess a decade earlier, in an epic battle against invading Spartans. Now, as she enjoys the continued peace, she looks forward to a possible future with her young recruit, Kreousa. But the gods lay a challenge to discover who has the strongest warrior spirits: Amazons or Spartans. Because the gods have a wicked sense of humor, the Spartans are undead. To make matters worse, they have chosen the unseasoned Kreousa to accompany Threso. Will Threso lose the one woman who has instilled a song of love in her?

Nether Regions is the first f/f romance story I've ever read, and I will say that I was extremely happy that I allowed Jadette Paige to introduce me to the beauty of f/f romance.

The story was engaging, and as a mythology buff, I was captivated with the way she wove in some hints of mythology into her story. I also loved the fact that the story was fast paced and didn't drag unnecessarily.

I found her use of description, and the way she used her words to show us the characters and their actions extremely brilliant and it helped to make the story even more real to me.

Kreousa's almost death, with the contamination she received from the blood of the demon was a very nice touch as it kept the story from ending blandly, with the end of the fight. The suspense, although not long still made for a good finish.

All in all, Nether Regions turned out to be an amazing read that I will recommend to anyone starting out with the genre, and I am interested in reading more stories from the author.

The book was enjoyable although I thought that it should have been a novel instead of a novella. Too much happened within the 44 pages and it could have been fleshed out better in a novel.

All the best for the future, Jadette!

First off, I received a free copy of this book from the author via GoodReads group Making Connections, for a fair and honest review. I do not know the author personally.

I came to this book with certain expectations, which I own fully. The fact that it is presented as a fantasy story featuring a lesbian romance excited me greatly. While the book kicks off with a sex scene between the veteran warrior Threso and the attractive young recruit Kerousa, sex seems to be all that really is between these two women.

In my opinion this story fails as a lesbian romance/erotica. The sex scene, while very detailed failed to come across as sexy to me. The stylized language utilized to give the story the feel of another era is primarily to blame for this. While it works very well in other scenes, but when it was used to describe the scene with an almost clinical detached details it destroyed the mood utterly.

This book is more successful as a horror/historical fantasy story. I found the idea behind the story intriguing. Sadly, my disappointment over the poorly represented lesbian sex left me put-off for the rest of the story.

I would not recommend this to fans of lesbian erotica or romance, but rather to fans of fantasy and horror. That is where the stories strengths lie and part of me wishes the author would have omitted the romance/erotic aspect of the story as it felt like more of a token inclusion to than a true representation.

I am woman hear me roar! I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was different sub-genre for me for a number a reasons and is part of the Lesbians vs. Zombies series. Zombie’s are not my usual cup of tea – too close to horror for my taste. Also the copy didn’t work well on my reader. That being said, this erotic tale is teased with tidbits of Greek Mythology as the Amazonian Warriors and the Spartan Warriors compete to avoid Zeus’s wrath. A war by any other name is still a war as the warriors each want their loved ones home and safe. Threso & Kreousa are no different as they each pray for the others safety as both are chosen for battle.

The ending felt abrupt and rushed. For me that weighed heavily against the world and character building that preceded it. The denouement, climax and finale were almost in the same paragraph which doesn’t give the reader a moment to breathe or decide if it was a fulfilling read. It also felt a little strange that the only males were definitely the bad guys – it might have been better to leave them out all together. So the feminism was a bit heavy handed I thought.

I didn’t care for this story and wouldn’t continue the series due to my own dislike of the sub-genre.

I have never reviewed f/f sub-genre paranormal romance before.

However, romance is romance, action is action and erotica is erotica. Simply put, no matter what sex the characters are in this lusty novel, they are hot!

The novel starts off the bat with an older and wiser superior Amazon warrior Threso taking a shine to the up and coming trainee Kreousa. Threso a strong person already pines away and thinking a little bit too much about her trainee.

As they grow closer Threso calls Kreousa a pet name all the time, “Kitten.” I thought that term of endearment was so special and it made me warm to the character.

Visited by a hellish demon from the underworld, the Amazon women are given an assignment to battle the Spartans who have been resurrected as zombies for the pleasure of the Gods.

I liked everything about this book, yes, I did. I thought it was sexy, erotic, action-packed and fun!

Warning this book is RR for Really Racy and not for the kiddies! This was a very good read from Ms. Paige and I will be reading the rest in the series!

I have to give Jadette Paige’s “Nether Regions” a 5 out of 5 stars for its sexiness, spunk and creativity!

I’ve known Jadette Paige for almost a decade and, honestly, I didn’t know she was so much of a history buff until she wrote Nether Regions. Amazons and Spartans and gods issuing challenges, great stuff!

And zombies, lots and lots of zombies.

The characters are very easy to connect with, despite the distance to reality time setting could provide. An older woman, ready to embrace the peace she's fought so hard and long for. A trainee who is eager to prove her worth, even though she's pushed ahead too early and too hard by forces out of both of their control.

One of the elements which really elevated this story for me was Jadette's incorporation of music. That, along with strong characters and the wonderful sense of connection she creates between them really make this a wonderful read.

Okay, the scene with the entrance to the Nether Regions was down right freaky if you're into these things.

As with any author, even when they are your friend, there are some stories you like more than others. After a decade I've read a lot of her work and I can honestly say this is one of my favorite stories by Jadette, I hope you give it a try.

First things first, I got a free copy of this book from the author via Goodreads group Making Connections, for a fair and honest review. I do not know the author personally.
I give this novelette 3 stars.
This book reminds me of Xena the princess warrior and her sidekick Gabrielle, if they were lesbians.
I found it a quick read, something that you could read on your lunch hour.
The characters are standard stock characters. This is one of two flaws with this story. Because the author chose not to flesh out the characters, I found their falling in love to be flat. Their 'love' is an important part of this story as it is what motivates each of the characters actions/behaviors. However the author substitutes sex for the bases of 'falling in love', and the two are not the same. The romance factor is totally missing, its more about domination/surrendering/control/lust then about attraction/getting to know each other/progression of emotions/then sex. I felt that the lack of build up before the sex scenes weakened the 'believability' of their love.
I found the constant use of the words 'kitten', and 'her lover' to be distractions rather then endearments.
The other flaw in the book was that the pace of the story is choppy. There are times when the story flows nicely (the fight scenes) then rather then have a natural decline of action the author says 'there was no more events for the trip' creating a break in the story flow.
The fight scenes were the best part of the book. I felt the author did a good job describing the actions enough so that I could easily visualize them.
So do I recommend this book? Yes I found the story enjoyable and feel with more development this would be a very good story.
f-f Romance, and fantasy readers might enjoy this novelette.

I got this book for free, from Making Connections, in exchange of an honest review. Get your copy here.

Interesting story.
Glimpses of mythology made it even more fun.
Didn't much like the "instant love" between the main characters but they were sweet together.
I loved that even though the Amazons were supposed to be a warrior race, they weren't completely without fear.
Fast paced and just the right length.
