Fornever Yours
Elizabeth Finch thinks Gideon Hawthorne is arrogant, pushy, abrasive, and too cocky by far. While Gideon makes no secret of the fact that he finds Beth to be a smug, condescending, know-it-all. If she could, Beth would avoid him at all cost, but he's her best friend's husband's best friend, and thus inescapable. Their friends have developed a handy Beth Days and Gideon Days, but there's no avoiding the big celebrations, where Beth and Gideon have to grin and tolerate each other. And when Beth finds herself falling into bed with Gideon after one of these celebrations, she knows that she's making a colossal-no-gargantuan mistake. And Gideon makes it clear that he feels exactly the same way. It's a mistake. Never to be repeated, or spoken of, ever again. But these two arch enemies are now aware of each other in ways that they had never been before. And the urge to touch and kiss is becoming even stronger than the need to argue and snipe. I had this ARC siting on my kindle before the publication date, but wanted to wait until I was in the correct mood to read it. And I definitely made the right decision.
I love Natasha Anders and have read all her books, my favorite to date still being The Unwanted Wife. That said, I really enjoyed this one.
The story hits the ground running and we are dumped right into the already-brewed dissension between the H and the h, which I loved. I also loved both Elizabeth and Gideon. They were really great characters and I loved their banter, their hijinks, just everything.
It was the perfect mix of love/hate, sweetness, and soap opera family drama, and it the spot for me. This is definitely one I can see myself re-reading and upgrading later. I also really want Smith and McKenna's story now!!!

Gideon and Beth have mutual friends. Yet, they can't stand one another. They hate each other's everything; personality, morals, and character. They are judgmental towards one another, and it's their prejudices that keep them apart. A classic of enemies turned to lovers.
It took a lot of cruel, hurtful words and misunderstandings to break them apart and to finally bring them together. At times, I felt they were too toxic, especially Gideon, who repeatedly uttered truly hurtful words towards Beth. I think for me that's why i took points away, because i myself couldn't forgive him. But, in the end, Beth was able to change him for the better and fall in love.

Both characters annoyed me and did some pretty fucked up things and made a lot of dumb assumptions (Gideon more so than Beth), but for some reason I still enjoyed this so 🤷🏼♀️
Also very curious if there will be spin-offs from this book? Super intrigued by Gideon’s sister Kenny’s marriage of convenience(?) situation as well as his brother, Nox’s self imposed exile. Those things seemed left open ended and mysterious on purpose so I’m hoping we’ll get their stories!

This author's books often tend to stay with me (in my thoughts) along time after reading....maybe it's the emotional component that always seems to hook me so strongly..and I have to say I especially liked this one.
It sort of got off to a slow start for me but halfway through I was more than enamored and you couldn't have dragged me away from my kindle.
This is more than an enemies to lovers storyline...these two can't even be in the same room together (much to their mutual friends exasperation) but I loved ❤️ watching how Gideon and Beth had to finally reevaluate their false misconceptions and beliefs about each other.
It was much the same for the reader also.
This book had a lot of depth, a wonderful slow-burn quality and a solid storyline.
It was a totally enjoyable read with some serious chemistry clearly evident between these two loggerheads and also some significant grovelling towards the end by the hero.
If you have never read Natasha Anders before, I also highly recommend "The Unwanted Wife" and "A Husband's Regret".... absolutely awesome reads.

This book deserves so much more love. There’s meat to the story. It’s a slow burn with solid development. The start was a little boring and longwinded, but it picks up pace around the middle. I’ve been on a Natasha Anders book binge and whilst some of them have been great, others not so much. 🤪
The MCs here are genuinely mean and spiteful to one another. Sometimes the enemies to lovers trope is very thinly done, and washed out, but these two really wound each other up and felt hurt whenever the other would say something particularly cruel and awful, often rooted in misconception. They simply don’t know each other well.
Beth and Gideon have been in one another’s lives for two years. They are the respective best friends of Cam and Cat, who are now a couple and cause them to interact despite their animosity.
Gideon believes Beth is arrogant, self righteous, and a know it all who looks down on others. She was aloof and cold when she first met him, and this behaviour continued in lieu of his reaction. Beth believes that Gideon is a entitled freeloader (now living across the street from her, renting his best friend’s Cam’s former home). I don’t think either held a torch, so there wasn’t necessarily any “love” lost between the two. They just mutually disliked each other and would interact few and far going so far as to alternate days with their best friends. But, Gideon probably misinterpreted his attraction to Beth as she would always shun him, which left him attempting to get her attention by being mean. He’s an extrovert that’s typically humorous and the life of the party, so her adverse reaction to him left him reeling. It’s clear that he always found her beautiful but hard to digest her complete disregard of him. I really like opposites paired together in books.
One day he spots her crying, asks her what’s wrong, distracts her and the book opens up the next day with them having slept together, leading to them navigating the new parameters of this relationship/enmity.
Good grovelling for me, after they have a fight near the end of the book!
Safety: For me, yes. I like books with that crisis-hatred-angst element without owd/omd. There’s no information on the last two years so they probably weren’t celibate (let’s not go crazy) but nothing is mentioned memory wise by either of them. Focus is all on them. Slight other man drama when this guy takes her on a date.
P.S. I really want the book with Gideon’s brother. My guy was so bitter, and toxic and then he just fell off the face of the planet for THREE years. Find him his girllll 😩😝 I need another bitch boy who’s mean and then feels guilt during his self reflection and totally caves in.

I couldn´t put it down!!! Layer after layer Natasha Anders reveals what this enemies to lovers romance is about. And you will find no superficial drama but a very well designed emotional story! Beth and Gideon are showing all the feels all the emotions. In a perfect arc the author guides us through their fighting, their passion and the way they take to find the love for each other under all that is happening between them and what happened to them.
If you are fan of enemies to lovers stories, a romance fan, a connoisseur of wonderful worldbuilding, amazing character creation, the beauty of the english language this is your book. This book literally pulled me out of a reading slump and I know I will re-read it several times.
If you are a fan of Natasha´s you will not only find new characters to love but also faces from other books and I am loving this so much. And ... as soon as you read this book you will see how perfect how amazing this cover is. It might look "just" like your decent romance cover. But I promise you will be delighted about all the lovely details you find that are not there by accident.

I really liked this book; unfortunately, it probably won’t be very memorable for me. It was a cute, light-hearted story which I wasn’t exactly expecting from the Queen of Angst. My expectations might have been misaligned for this one - there wasn’t all that much substance to this story and I got a little bored just waiting for something interesting to happen.
Beth and Gideon’s feud was understandable but it became too repetitive. They would be having a normal conversation and then one of them would spontaneously say something out of line, the other would get offended and storm off, the offending person would feel bad or apologize, rinse and repeat. So. Many. Times. This is enemies-to-lovers so I know that’s the point, but again, I was just waiting for something… more.
In real life they’d probably be the token toxic couple in your friend group. But Gideon’s grovelling in the end was really cute.

3.5 stars. I keep reading Anders hoping that another book will deliver angst on par with The Unwanted Wife. That’s perhaps an unfair expectation. This one did have some angst due to a meddling, obNOXious brother.
I really didn’t like the MC, Beth. She was a know-it-all and arrogant. I felt sorry for her in many ways. I like a stronger (mentally) heroine. Gideon was also obnoxious. Overall, the flow of the book was good and very engaging. The groveling at the end was OTT. Not sure why Beth was such a catch, honestly. If I were Gideon, I would’ve moved on!

It was OK read. It’s my fault I had high hopes. It was too much focus on sex. The author jumped into it right at the beginning of the story. The action moved at a snail pace also the plot felt predictable.
I preferred the H and it took me long time to warm up to the heroine who felt rather uptight. I wanted more angst but the story was dragging. In the last 20% of the book there is a misunderstanding and some angst because of that. It was too little too late but still an improvement. I liked author’s earlier books especially “His unlikely lover”. I’m sorry to say it but the later ones weren’t my cup of tea. I really wanted to like this one though.

I really wanted to love this one because the 'Enemies to Lovers' dynamic was so well done at the start. The tension between hero and the heroine was palpable, and their banter was sharp. However, the story became incredibly winded in the middle. There were far too many subplots and 'filler' scenes that didn't move the story forward. At 400+ pages [or insert length], it felt like it could have been 100 pages shorter and much more impactful. An interesting premise that unfortunately got bogged down by slow pacing.

Fornever Yours is an enemies to lovers romance with great banter. Beth and Gideon have an undeniable chemistry and I loved watching them overcome their initial dislike and misconceptions and show each other care and love. This is such a beautifully emotional story with well-written characters and some humorous moments. I adored this romance and I couldn't put it down.

Another perfection by Natasha Anders. There's just something about her novels... Enemies to lovers, growing chemistry, constant push and pull.
There were some boring parts, and butting in of their mutual friends bugged me, but overall I enjoyed it!

This is a great love hate romance book. The relationship between the hero and heroine is so funny with all their back and forth banter. Elizabeth and Gideon Hate each other which normally wouldn't be an issue. You hate someone you move on with your life and never see them again. Except for two small problems. They live across the street from each other and even worse Elizabeths best friend is married to Gideon best friend.
Their friend circle makes concessions for both Gideon and Elizabeth having night with Gideon and separate nights with Elizabeth. Unfortunately some events force these two enemies to be together and their friends birthday is one of them. Fast forward a few hours and both Gideon and Elizabeth are shocked at the turn of events and how it makes them feel.
Both are sure they will always hate each other till they seem to be in each others space more than ever before and maybe they dont hate each other like they were both so sure they did. But this long hate relationship has history and both aren't so sure they can let for of feels they cemented for each other even if new information seem to change each of their perspective of the other and there the pesky attraction that seems to be getting stronger with the day.
This was a really fun enemy to lovers book. Both Gideon and Elizabeth are brutal with the other in their thoughts and feels towards the other giving us some really funny moments. And we also get to see both of them realize that they weren't right about the other persona and had a lot of assumptions that were wrong. This is a really fun weekend read that you pick up to just get away and enjoy yourself getting wrapped in the story.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a Natasha Anders and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think she’s at her best when writing an angsty romance with a lot of conflict between the main characters, and this is a good example of this. The story is good: the interactions between Beth and Gideon are genuinely antagonistic and it’s messy. They both do things that make them hard to like - they both behave poorly and selfishly towards the other.
I liked Beth’s character. Her insecurities and shyness hit home; they were really well-done, as were Gideon’s observations about how her shyness led to her making herself “useful” to their friends. I also liked Gideon; I liked how caring and protective he became as the book went on.
But there’s so much genuine conflict between them. It can get a little repetitive, but the author lets them argue, fight, take petty umbrage over small slights. It’s messy! And that’s really fun to read. It made the book really angsty, especially when combined with the external plot - her grief from losing her loved ones and his feelings of resentment towards his family. Plus the chemistry between them is good, and the sex scenes are hot and well-written.
I do think the writing is a little bit choppy and stilted at times; some of the dialogue doesn’t scan well, for example, but Natasha Anders really does angst and grovelling so well. I was thoroughly engaged throughout. I was upset for the characters, happy for them, I felt angry at times. Reading it made me emotional, whilst I also enjoyed the cuter, sweeter side of it.
I just enjoyed reading it. Aspects of it were predictable, but that’s what made it enjoyable to me. Both characters had to learn, had to improve themselves for the relationship to work - and I really liked seeing how they did that over the course of the book.

I went back on Kindle Unlimited for this book!! :) That's what I do for a book by Natasha Anders. She is a talented writer; she knows how to set a story up, develop characters, set the pace. there are no superficial gimmicks; it all is well constructed and feels very natural in its unfolding. That is hard to find in the romance book world. I will read everything she writes. Having said that, however, I can be picky in which books of hers I like best. Fornever yours was good, but not my favorite. My favorites by her are:
The Wingman, A Ruthless Proposition, and The Unwanted Wife...
This book was a good story, but I didn't love the characters as much. Beth was a bit too uptight for my liking and some things she said/did seemed a bit unrealistic at times for how I envisioned her. Also, I felt that the story did drag a bit toward the last third of the book (or maybe I was just impatient).
If you haven't read Natasha Anders before, do yourself a favor and read my favorites :)
By the way, everytime I say the title I can't help but hum the song "Forever young." lol

I honestly thought I wouldn’t like this book, but I gave it a try because Natasha Anders is one of my very few one clicks…and she did it again.
Anders has always been queen when it comes to conflict and drama, but she takes a new turn with Fornever Yours. Gideon and Lizzy’s enmity has a lighter, almost rom-com feel, with constant banter that kept me engaged from the beginning to the last page.

This is the very first time I have read such a toxic heroine. She is literally the worst, I really feel bad for the Hero, man he deserved the Best.
If they weren't fiction, I would put on a bet right now that he would divorce her toxic self in the next five years, they were THAT incompatible.
Also, all throughout the book she used to insult, look down on the Hero and whatnot, but in the end, she would act as a victim and make Hero feel guilty for pointing out her mistakes. Man, she was TERRIBLE!!

Natasha Anders Delivers Chemistry and Earned Redemption—Despite a Rocky Start
After loving Finding Forever, I went hunting through Natasha Anders' backlist for more Hawthorne siblings stories. Fornever Yours is Gideon's book, and while this isn’t linked to Finding Forever (which is annoying), this one's worth reading.
Beth Finch and Gideon Hawthorne loathe each other. Or at least they think they do. From their first meeting, they're intensely drawn to but completely misunderstand each another. I'm not usually a fan of the misunderstanding trope, but their chemistry kept me interested.
Beth appears exceedingly uptight, but Gideon? I liked him. He's protective and sexy—exactly my type. However, there's one moment where Gideon makes fun of a personal issue Beth has, and it felt cruel and completely out of character for him. That moment aside, Anders nails his protective nature and the way he shows up for Beth.
The first half of the book got tedious with the back-and-forth dislike. It took too long to figure out what was really going on between them, and the constant bickering wore thin. But once they start actually communicating? The way they overcome their enmity feels earned. They're both protective and loyal, and watching them separately stand up for each other is lovely.
There are two moments in this book where I laughed out loud, both about the same subject, and that kind of humor consistency is exactly what I love. The chapters dealing with Gideon's family are excellent, especially since I remembered them from Finding Forever. Watching Gideon unravel his family issues added depth to his character.
The supporting cast is solid. I'd love to see Kenny and Smith's story. Can't say I liked Nox, but I'd probably read his book anyway because Anders knows how to write complicated characters.
The chemistry between Beth and Gideon is undeniable once they stop fighting it. They're both strong people who deserve each other's loyalty and protection. While the misunderstanding trope and that cruel moment from Gideon knocked this down a notch, Anders delivers an enemies-to-lovers romance that ultimately earns its happily ever after.

3.75-4 stars. This is the third book I've read by Natasha Anders. Fornever Yours is her most recent publication, and because I really do like the way she writes, I'm now going to have to read all her previous books.
So why did I give it 3.75 to 4 stars? As someone who has been married over 41 years, I know what it takes to stay in a long-term marriage. Let me tell you, it's a lot of hard work. In the end, I have learned that if I'm having issues, it's really not about my husband. It's about me. That doesn't mean my husband has been a saint throughout our marriage, but a lot of the reason why our marriage is now successful is because we are kind and loving to each other most of the time, and we don't look at each other as the reason why either of us may be agitated, etc.
The MMC, Gideon, was a cruel and mean guy. The MFC, Beth, definitely had her own issues, but I have to say that Gideon was a piece of work, and was a big reason why their relationship was so horrible from the beginning. He could be a real p___k. Again, Beth could certainly throw some verbal punches, but based on how he would initiate their interactions, he set the stage. Both of them needed to grow up.
So, unless Gideon & Beth could totally change their characters, they were in for some hard work. I know it's romance novel, and everyone is supposed to have their HEA. Realistically, they will both have to grow up and do a lot of personal work in order to make their marriage truly happy.
Most of the time, I write off these romances, and don't put that much weight on how the romances will actually work out. I guess the reason why I have such a strong opinion concerning this book is because the author writes her characters with a lot of depth, & makes sure her characters are multi dimensional.
Of course, I could totally change my opinion if I reread it at a different point in my life. So no matter what, it's definitely worth a read.

Enemies to lovers is an amazing trope, when done correctly. This book is a good example of that trope being written wrong, so so wrong.
We have two adults that bicker, pick on each other, are so very immature and can't even stand to be in the same room as each other. So much so, that their friends have to schedules nights to hang out with each other on different days.
The MMC decides of course to call Beth by two names that she hates cause "haha, it's funny to be a teenage boy masquerading as a man" and of course the FMC allows it.
I just can't read about two grown ass people in their 30's acting like children.

This would have been a five star book if the ending wasn’t so rushed. I wanted to actually see them together as a couple. I didn’t like the third act break up. It came out of nowhere and the misunderstanding was so dumb. I wanted to see them navigate being in a relief ship within their friend group. It was such a big deal and plot point and they completely glossed over it. I feel cheated 😩 This book was like 500 pages - I don’t think we needed all of the family drama. Should’ve just focused on the couple 🤷🏽♀️
This was a banger though. I like that it wasn’t just insta-list. Great writing and the characters actually seemed mature. Might read more from this author.

One thing I will say is that I noticed that Natasha immediately jumps into the storyline with her books. Which isn't always a bad thing.
I was intrigued from the get go and loved the h and H banter. This was such a good new adult enemies to lovers.
Natasha writing is great and I loved being able to immediately recognize places bejnc mention in the story. It was so nice hearing things related to my culture and the way Natasha used words that made sense to me as a Capetownian.
I hoped the story wouldn't end as I loved the character development and world that she built.

In Fornever Yours, Beth and Gideon have an intense dislike of each other. They are so stuck on not liking each other they fail to see how much in common they have and how they compliment each other. However, they do enjoy their sexy times together. The story almost has a rom-com feel, with their non-stop verbal clashes and insults. Beth thinks she is smarter than Gideon and he is just a little to proud and obstinate. Neither wants to admit that they are great together but it was enjoyable watching them falling in love.

I am beyond disappointed. Natasha Andres is one of my favorite authors. This was such a let down. It went straight to sex and therefore killed the buildup. The plot dragged. Beth wasn’t a likable character. A technical writer with a stutter and dead bird? Huh?? I also miss the tie ins to Riverside and it’s residents. (Was that the town name?)
Normally, I love Natasha’s books and finish it within a day. This took forever because it was so dull. This could possibly be my least favorite of her novels. Maybe her next book will dive into Nox. That could be interesting.

This was a nice read! I liked that the story started after their first hook up- it made it fun and interesting. Then seeing the MC’s come to terms with their feelings (yes there was A LOT of back and forth and it dragged for a bit). The h’s stutter explained why she was shy and nervous and could only talk to H when they were rude to each other. I found it funny how they both watched each other. I don’t think this will be a book I remember but it was a nice read.
