I wouldn't say it's too fast. Their relationship is still a work in progress. Yoi is still figuring things out. But I love the confession so much!! Augh! I love them so much!!

This manga is undeniably one of the prettiest I've ever read, with both main characters being absolute knockouts. They're also probably the worst communicators I've ever read in a manga, thus the four-star rating instead of five. I get that this is Yoi's first relationship, so everything is unfamiliar to her and harder to communicate, but I feel like Ichimura doesn't make things easier even though he has more experience than her.

I hope they learn to express their feelings better in future volumes, and I look forward to seeing how this story unfolds.

Yoi and Kohaku can’t seem to get on the same page, and now there’s Yoi’s coworker causing all sorts of jealousy. But when it comes down to it, true love might win out, depending on what the fox says…

If you like these two, you will love this volume. All the feels go all over the place and we get a little more insight into Kohaku and why he’s really bad at expressing his feelings about things. He’s a little ‘poor little rich boy’, but I like the presentation. He seriously can’t catch a break.

So it comes across even more strongly that not only is Yoi the first girl he’s ever really been interested in, but he can literally pick her out of a crowd in a way that’s terribly well done. I loved the representation of this when it happens.

Which makes things super awkward when Yoi is texting her coworker over schedules and it tweaks Kohaku’s jealousy meter even more than it already is. It’s not a good look, but given his lack of experience actually thinking long-term, it does make sense that his hackles go up over this.

And that’s a great hook when combined with Yoi’s desire to force him to make the first move because she doesn’t want to appear weak and needy, even though she’s super interested in dating. Combined with some
technology fails and you have a full volume of classic miscommunication.

My dissatisfaction remains that I find these two so boring together. I’m not sure if it’s the very realistic art, although that might be part of it because the scant times it goes into super-deformed or chibi art it was much more charming to me. Moment to moment it’s like watching somebody mashing two fashion magazines together.

They read good, the story is interesting, but they do not engage me half as much as I would like. It might be that I find the disconnect here very strange - I know this is a story, but in the thick of it you shouldn’t have me thinking that this is all so very scripted.

Yoi taking the reins of her destiny and fulfilling every shojo manga’s prophecy by showing up in a yukata is great, but the whole business with the mask feels so incredibly artificial. None of that feels real and combined with my dismay at how her dream is to just be every girl ever instead of herself, it’s really something you’re being told should be a moment rather than an actual moment.

Which is why I said at the start that if you love these two, bam, you’re going to love this volume. For me there is just something that isn’t working about them as a couple and I’m certainly not super invested in seeing them working it all out.

3 stars - easily 4 stars if you have the attachment I’m lacking. I don’t think this is a bad manga, I will keep it on hand, but it is certainly one that feels written for somebody else’s tastes versus my own.

A fantastic blend of romance and self-discovery, this was very nicely balanced. The switches between the two protagonist's point of views were fluidly done and it didn't ever feel as though either protagonist had more depth than the other. There was an equal amount of self-exploration for them both.

And then it was littered with sweet romantic moments that never went beyond hand-holding and hugging, and completely perfect art. Everything about this was like a soft and slow hug by the sea with a warm gentle breeze wrapped around you; gorgeous and light.

This volume was such a roller coaster ride for my emotions. I was on the verge of heartbreak with Yoi & Kohaku.

It was a delightful turn of events. I also like how realistic it was for Yoi to put up some boundaries and for Kohako to respect it & patiently wait for Yoi to be ready.

I can't wait to see how their relationship develops further. Volume 1 had already given me high expectations for our couple.

I really loved this confession. It’s so quintessentially Yoi and, while it may seem fast for shoujo, our girl is still trying to figure out what having a boyfriend is like. Her new guideline for dating was hilarious, and Ichimura’s patience may be due entirely to the fact that he can’t get enough of Yoi, but I commend him all the same.

Summary:

Yoi has always been known as "the Prince." This is because she's so handsome that people have trouble thinking of her as anything else. The fact that she acts princely certainly doesn't help things. Given this life, Yoi is completely unprepared for the attention of a boy, any boy. Yet Ichimura can't resist getting to know her.

The experimental dating situation between Yoi and Ichimura-sempai is still in effect. Probably? It's confusing. Ichimura isn't great at communication, and Yoi doesn't know what she should be feeling. Or what she should be saying. With the festival fast approaching, now may be the time for them both to say how they feel.

Review:

Once again, we get to dive back into the romance that is Yoi and Ichimura's life. In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, Vol. 4 continues this story and goes how one would expect – mostly. Neither of our characters are used to feeling this way, causing a bit of drama.

For example, Yoi has never been courted before (unless you count all her female classmates treating her like a boy). So she's not sure how to act or feel. She certainly doesn't know how to express her feelings – and it shows.

Likewise, Ichimura is not used to liking the girls he dates. So he also doesn't know how to handle his emotions. So sometimes readers will want to shake our two leading characters. Other times things line up, making for the perfect moment. It's a sweet young romance at its finest.

Descobrim més a fons l'historial de parelles del noi des del seu punt de vista i què vols que et digui... aquesta cosa de "la Yoi és diferent de la resta/the first of her kind" està suadíssim i és ultra superficial. Com si tu fossis l'únic en el món mundial que la pugui entendre... És que literalment allò que diferencia el tio de la resta és que la veu com una noia i li ho diu, el llistó està baixíssim! Quan per fi la noia es confessa al festival sense petó, però bueeeno li torna a sortir el mode control freak i fa que les coses siguin encara més estranyes, quina necessitat hi havia i com ho aguanta ell?
