There just aren’t that many girls of marriageable age in Sand Creek.
Young men from Sand Creek venture into the northern wilderness to begin a new town, much as their fathers had before them. And, as was the case with the previous generation, the men find that a town needs families. Against his will
and his better judgment, Tyler Newly is sent to Chicago to get some brides.
Once a wealthy socialite, Jadyne (Jade) Crandall has fallen on hard times. Trusting God’s leading she begins working for an old family friend when a young, ambitious lumberjack from Minnesota arrives. Jade is suspicious of Tyler’s business with her employer and is shocked when she discovers the real reason for his visit. How can she trust Tyler, especially when she discovers that someone is stealing from her old friend? It only makes sense to travel back to Minnesota with him; that way Jade can keep an eye on Tyler Newly.
Will Jade find out the truth about Tyler? Will the new brides destroy the harmony that the men have in the settlement? Who is after the important documents that are entrusted to Tyler’s keeping?
Jade’s Courting Intrigue is the second book in A Newly Weds Series. Join the next sets of couples to settle the northern wilderness and discover how God leads in the lives of his children.
Margo Hansen has worked mainly with children and young people through Christian schools, vacation Bible schools, Sunday school, release time, and church camps as well as homeschooling her own three children for sixteen years. Now a grandmother, she and her husband, Bruce, live in the north woods of Minnesota—the setting of her A Newly Weds Series and TALL TIMBER TRILOGY.
An exciting and delightful sequel to Sky’s Bridal Train, we reconnect with Sky, Russ, and their six children in Jade’s Courting Danger, as well as a sneaky and sweet young woman named Jade. And what’s happening? … Another set of mail-ordered-brides are destined for Minnesota. Jade comes along, but instead of as a bride, as a “young boy” to help Russ and Sky’s handsome son deliver the brides safely to their waiting husbands-to-be.
Margo Hansen has written another wonderful novel to the NEWLY WEDS Series. I was pleased to reunite with Sky, Russ, Randi and all the others … as well as their many children. Jade’s story was spectacular! And of course, there was plenty of beautiful love stories and a splash of suspense. The message of faith was strong and true, as in the book before; and the main characters were once again endearing.
This is definitely a series not to be missed for all those historical-romance fans out there. I am excitedly waiting to read the next three books of NEWLY WEDS!
Very good novel. A story of a young man from the northwoods of Minnesota in the 1800's. He is sent by his friends to interview mail order brides for the new community they are building. He does not intend to find a bride for himself , until he meets Jade Crandall. Fast paced book, filled with intrigue and adventure. Highly recommend.
