Extremely interesting book, makes so much sense and is really well written.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone thinking they may be suffering from any sort of autoimmune illness. I found it really rang true after researching ME/CFS and Lupus over the years.
The only one criticism would be that I really don't agree about what foods she feels you can absorb high protein, Iron and B12 from (basically only meat which couldn't be further from the mark)and that India has the highest rate of diabetics and heart disease because of high levels of vegetarianism there(this is more likely because they fry everything and eat tons of sweet foods), but apart from this is a super, super book.

Having an autoimmune and various other health issues has really limited my life in recent years. This book has helped me to get my life back. Kristen, the co-author is wonderful and always willing to listen and guide me. I've made some bad nutritional decisions but she helps me see where I went wrong and helps me find ways to eat better. I'm so thankful for the information in this book. So many long hours and research have gone into this and I hope that others will realize how much good they can get from this. If you have an autoimmune this is really the book that will start you on the path of getting your life back.

A condensed way to explain the inner workings of autoimmunity. The authors make clear that the cause is undigested protein constituents. The cure is enzymes and changing diet to include live, fermented, enzyme rich foods. Before eating any kind of protein, eat some sauerkraut, yes there are recipes. This book is dense with studies for all different autoimmune diseases and they all seem to come down to the same thing, nutrient deficiencies. This is a must read for any one who is struggling with any health problem. Its that serious!

This is a must read for ANYONE suffering from any type of autoimmune disease. The author has done a prodigious amount of homework and cites dozens of medical studies to support a theory which is both surprising and sensible.
The only thing left out that would fit well and logically in this book is a discussion of how the genetic mutations involving MTHFR might figure into her conclusions.

very informative if somewhat hard to follow medically. I was interested in urticuliar Vasculitis but found information on my husbands Celiac Disease more informative.

The only problem with this diet is the price of food, finding some of these foods if you do not live in a major metropolis, and it encourages dairy products (which I cannot process. It also recommends you eat/drink fermented foods and drink bone broth. Even smelling the bone broth cooking made me sick. This diet may work for someone out there, but it's not feesable for me.
