[Siren Everlasting Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, shape-shifters, HEA]

The erotic torment of his virgin lover…

In high school, Tyler thought Evan was too young, and he reluctantly let him go, but Tyler never forgot their brief but passionate encounter. When Tyler needs help passing chemistry, brainy Evan is the first choice. Tyler doesn’t know Evan is now blind, but that doesn’t change his feelings for his gorgeous tutor.

Evan has saved himself for Tyler, and he can’t wait to have the sexy football player take him to the edge of sexual pleasure. Evan’s hunger for orgasm control turns into an erotic torment that bonds their souls, and the two become twinned bear shifters.

When a madman kidnaps Evan to turn him into a pain-craving submissive, the two must use the strength of their bond to keep the madman from killing Tyler and claiming Evan to gain entry into the Twin Pines Grizzlies. To thwart the villain’s plans, Evan must confess his darkest secret.

When Tyler learns what Evan has done to alter the course of his destiny, will he be able to forgive him, or will Evan pay for his crime with Tyler’s life?

Note: Devoted Alpha [Twin Pines Grizzlies 4] was previously published as Defensive Guard [Gridiron Gods 4]. Due to popular demand, the series has been revised to emphasize the bear shifting. If you have already read Gridiron Gods 1 to 7, you do not need to read Twin Pines Grizzlies 1 to 7 in order to continue with Strong Alpha [Twin Pines Grizzlies 8].

Devoted Alpha will be available on its release date in your bookshelf for download if you have already purchased Defensive Guard directly at BookStrand (this option is not available if purchased elsewhere).

When the hands of fate are involved, anything is possible and this is true for Tyler and Evan. Defensive Guard is an enchanting love story between two young men who lost their way from one another but come together again to seal their fate with the Gridiron Gods.

I absolutely enjoyed this installment of the Gridiron Gods. Evan is blind but it doesn’t keep him down. He’s smart and funny and goes after what he wants. I loved when Tyler and Evan first met. It’s both funny and sweetly sensual.

Tyler has a bit of that bad boy male slut persona going on. He relies a lot on his good looks and his ability to get any man he wants. When he meets Evan his world comes to a screeching halt. It was entertaining reading how this sexually confidant man gets be humbled by a younger Evan.

The story moves really quick. Tyler has come to Evan for help in tutoring him in his studies. But all he wants to learn is what makes Evan tick. Within minutes of meeting they are engaging in some very erotic love acts. Ms. McLeod is fantastic at writing descriptive sexual encounters between her characters and Defensive Guard is no different.

The is a sweet story yet it has a bit of sadness as well. What Evan thinks he gave up to have Tyler is tragic but I couldn’t fault either man because ultimately they came together no matter the reasons. They both are willing to make sacrifices to be with the other.

The conflict added some suspense to this tale. I learned more of the Gridiron Gods' past and an evil villain is exposed. Definitely a page turner.

As the book drew to a close I had a smile on my face. Defensive Guard is a love story where the characters have obstacles to overcome but in the end discover what is truly important.

Defensive Guard is an excellent addition to the series. With every new book the Gridiron Gods gets better and better. The stories get more in-depth and grip you to the very end. I would recommend reading the entire series in order so as to not be confused but it is a series that you will love being sucked into.

2012 Review:

Wow again.

All of these stories so far have a dark undertone that strikes suddenly, shockingly. In that light I am especially grateful that things always conclude the way they do because otherwise these books might crush me.

That really amazes me, how something can be so dark, ruthless even, yet at the same time so… Well, it always ends as happily as can be.

Collective memory, cool stuff. Maybe the emergence and increased variety of their powers makes sense due to the fact that the sloth is growing in size. Looking at things that way, it does not feel suspicious anymore. (Clearly I’ve read too many badly crafted series where powers kept piling up just so there’d be new thrills instead of doing something constructive with what was there already.)

Oh yeah, another thing I probably should note, just because I usually comment on these things, is that I really appreciate the fluctuating nature of the top/bottom issue here. For one, it seems different for each couple, and secondly it never has that feel of typecasting. Which is even more amazing considering the alpha/omega theme of every single couple. But that’s just it; it’s a theme, not a rigid set of rules, and personality and preferences prevail. Essentially, this is the way I most like this handled.

And I am rambling, going nowhere with this. My mind is fuzzy, sorry. Probably won’t have a clue what I was babbling about when I read over this later. :P

Another fun story. It looks like there are some interesting things to come...I like that she is building the overall storyline with the group and why they are forming as well as going into the previous group of shifters too.
