Unfinished Business

Suga is an only child. At 16, her life completely changes. Her father, Linwood, is incarcerated and her mother, Teesa, is dead. Fortunately for Suga, she has her uncle Redd, who is committed to helping her through this difficult time. Redd spends money showering Suga with material things; it is through this that Suga finds comfort in materialistic items.

A married woman, Suga's life is swimming in drama. She learns that her husband has a dark side. Her best friend Kendra is more of a frienemy and she has more than a few secrets in her own closet. With so much going on in and around her, can she handle what may be lying in wait?

KARMA'S KISS by Snook is overflowing with drama. While drama is nice, the story lacks depth and structure. Readers will find themselves feeling as if they've been left out. Miscellaneous characters have chapters. There are certain parts in the story that make absolutely no sense. While readers get to know the main character Suga, you really don't feel as if you know her as the storyline leaves many blanks as the story goes on. I think with the assistance of good developmental and copy editors KARMA'S KISS could be a much better read.

Grammatical errors aside, this book wasn't that great. My first problem with the book was the timing--one minute Suga is a teenager and the next she's married. The plot was all over the place--family drama, Suga's father felt like a character that was dropped in to the plot just because, and relationship drama. The other big problem I had with this book were the multiple scenes of rape or attempted rape. I think the author had good intentions of trying to write a morality story about the evils of money, but the message gets lost in a chaotic plot.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Nothing but drama and messiness in a very entertaining way. Just when I thought I knew the direction Snook was taking the characters in I was dead wrong! Good read!

This book moved so fast in a good way, all authors should be on the lookout for this author right here. Mind blown, didn’t expect this any of this. This book was mind blowing because just some of the characters you just didn’t see that coming. The book on my mind is Karma’s Kiss by Snook. The book really flowed well as far as the story line. At first, I was thinking I was missing something but then I would continue reading and then I was like no it’s right there. It was small but it was there. So, let’s dive in.
The book is centered around a character named Suga and the different people that get pulled into her world in some way, shape or form. When I first read this character, I felt so bad for her because no one should have to go through that. I thought it really traumatized her, but then her uncle comes along and shows her the finest things in life and I look at her as very selfish. She still had morals and goals that she wanted to accomplish but it felt like she wanted it her way or no way. She meets this guy named Marlon and they grow a rather healthy relationship. I mean Marlon wants her to achieve her goals and go to college and while she is doing that he is building this life for her and growing a business of his own. You would think, wow that is sweet and they are just the perfect couple. No. This is where the Karma stuff start, well some of it did.
I think the most deceiving couple in here was Kendra and Dee hands down. These two are married and in love but they know each other’s secret and are using it to hurt the people that they are supposed to care about. Everyone in this book is not a saint and I loved this author because she took these characters and portrayed them that way and then slowly their skeletons start coming out the closest and you learn not just how they are hurting each other but why they are doing it as well. After Suga and Marlon get married it’s just secret after secret after secret. Be prepared to keep your jaw dropped.
And it’s not just the secrets that made this book so good but how each character uses it. Instead of being just up front and honest they choose to make the situation worse for themselves. Except maybe Marlon he found his secret after it happened but he chose to keep from Suga because oh Suga would have left him and you want to know something and why I am laughing so hard. Suga knew and chose not to tell him that she knew. Ha-ha. Once Suga pulls out some little truths of her own, her marriage slightly changes. She knows she needs to tell the truth but just enough to keep her husband. Then the domino effect starts where everyone is just tired of lying and some people just the truth and here comes some more karma, I mean it’s just flowing at this point.
That ending gave me so much life honey. None of this I saw coming. Everyone was portrayed in that I really couldn’t see that ending happening. I honestly didn’t think she did it. I also didn’t Kendra would do that either. Such a good book.

This book was all over the place. We all like messy books but this was too much. Suga, sleeping with husband's BF, sleeping with a woman. Dee and Kendra blackmail, Marlon with a baby that's not his. How does Suga get pregnant when she's taking birth control, cause she doesn't want kids? Then her mama was not dead. I mean just too much. How are you best friends with someone you know is jealous of you? This book was too much, it had typos and grammatical errors. I just felt like this book wasted my time, then it had the nerve to be a cliffhanger, why. I borrowed the second book and skipped to the end.

this was a good read, i can't believe suga is repeating the cycle, why did it end like that? I'm ready to read karma's kiss 2 because suga has to make better decisions. she has so much hurt and pain she can't see past that. I can't imagine what marlon is going to do once everything comes out, and Dee is a dirty dirty dog, Snook you did your thing with this one! Onto book 2!

With looks, money and success, Suga seems to have it all. Suga suffers from anxiety attacks after discovering her mother's dead body as a teenager. With her father in prison, she is raised by her uncle. She let down her guard and marries, Marlon, the provider of her lavish lifestyle who loves her more than she deserves. They both keep secrets from each other that unearths heart-shattering pain and changes the dynamics of their marriage.
While coping with her husband’s painful secret, she allows herself to be manipulated. She is used as a pawn in a game she was never meant to win. Her past comes back to haunt her in more ways than one after she is caught with her panties around her ankles on their anniversary. Her most painful secret is yet to be revealed once she ends an affair and runs in an attempt to hide her treachery. Murder, sex, lies, and scandal intertwines in this tale of Karma’s Kiss.

Author Snook you did your thing with this story. This book was amazing, it literally had me up all night reading. The main character Suga took drama to a whole different level. Karma's Kiss had all the key components for an intriguing storyline; murder, sex, betrayal, craziness, and excitement. Yes, I felt the story was reliable, but it still left me with tons of unanswered questions. Overall Karma's Kiss by Snook was a good read but could use a little help with story development but it still was a good read and I give this book 4 stars!!!!

Karma's Kiss follows the life of Suga, a scandalous woman who loves money and fashion more than the people in her lives. So much so, that she'd do anything to have those things.

Often times the writer will create a somewhat "perfect" lead character. That was not the case in this book, and I love that fact. Every single character is FLAWED, and that's life! They're crazy and dysfunctional and let's face it, we LOVE dysfunction. Just because of that, I can't wait until the next installment drops.

Who doesn't love drama? I love it just as much as the next reader. But I sometimes felt there was a lot of it. There are instances throughout, that caused me to question the actions and emotions, making it a bit hard to get into the heads of the characters. A little more detail in these moments, would have made it more relatable or understanding.

For all of you drama loving readers, I recommend you give this book a try. See for yourself just how interesting and disturbing these characters are.

Karma's Kiss

This is a good book and a very good story. The errors took away from the book. I had to roll my eyes so much, I thought they would stay that way.
Suga was traumatized by what happened to her mother. So she lived her life for money and material things. Meeting Marlon changed her but not enough.
Kendra was not a good friend to Suga and Dee wasn't the brother that he pretended to be to Marlon. Tessa was a surprise, but in a good way. Redd was the family's rock. He took care of every one
Suga did surprise me at the end, but if we don't learn our history, we will repeat it.
This would be a very good book with a little editing.

Very interesting read!

This was a very interesting read. It was filled with plenty of sex, murder, lies, secrets and scandal. It is very true what they say about karma. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good read. This author is new to me, and I will definitely be checking out her other books.

Karma's Kiss

Suga has had a lifetime of pain! Some of the pain she caused on her own, but most of it due to the cards she's been dealt. Karma's Kiss had me on edge & trying to figure out who to trust, who to be mad at, etc! The author did perfect!
