4 Stars ~ We met Dominic as Thierry's second in The Good Sinner's Naughty Nun. He's scarred both physically and emotionally, and truly believes no good woman would want him because of the disfiguring scar on his face. Using his weighted dice, he wagers a drunken Earl out of his land and all his possessions which includes his daughter. Elsinore is an independent young woman who has rejected the young neighbour's proposal many times and so her father is anxious to find her a husband. When she meets Dominic and learns what her father has wagered and lost, she finds her future totally out of her control. She's conflicted though, because though the Norman knight is ugly and a brute, she desires him. The rejected neighbour learns of their wedding and interrupts their wedding night, claiming that Elsinore had been promised to him and that he would appeal to the King's representative to see that he got her. Dominic is torn, he knows his wife has a passion for him, but the neighbour is young and handsome and has much to offer her. When Elsinore is given the right to chose which man she wants, Dominic is afraid she'll send him packing.
This is a fun and sexy read. The sparring between Dominic and Elsinore shows neither is indifferent to the other, and adds to the sexual tension. I loved how Dominic fought for her even though he felt she deserved Stryker. The competitions between the two men made for some fun reading. I've enjoyed Ms. Fox's The Conquerors series. There is a hint of Stryker's future that ties in with a woman mentioned in an earlier book. I'm eager to see if his story has been written.

This was my first time reading any works from Georgia Fox. I have to say I truly enjoyed it! It's fun, exciting and hot. I usually get a bit bored with historical romances, but The Wagered Wench kept my interest the entire time and left me satisfied with its conclusion.
Elsinora is a strong woman the wants nothing more to have respect, independence and a chance to prove herself. She's not going to 'just marry' someone to make others happy or to get the respect she so desires because she is told to do so.
Dominic is a strong, sturdy and independent make that just wants to enjoy life and live it as he deems himself worthy.
Stryker is an establish male that has been after Elsinora for a decade to marry him. He and Elsinora have a past and he is confident of his standings.
The three of them together are a trip! There are some great fight scenes that will be in my memory for a long time to come (two hot males, yes!) A choice to be made by Elsinora that could change her life and all that she's desired for herself, for always. In the end I love the choice Elsinora made.
I look forward to reading more from Georgia Fox in the very near future.

I loved this story almost as much as the previous one in this series. The reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because I honestly don't know what the author was thinking with the wedding night scene! I found it more disturbing than anything else!
However, Dominic and Elsinora are both great characters. I loved them both and really felt for them at times with what they had been through and were going through.
I was so happy to read their HEA and also get a glimpse into their future in the last chapter.

2021 READ: 5 STARS!
Among the series, I think this is what I liked the most. I don't know why I feel melancholic while reading about the relationship of the H and h.
My review is not for intelligent discussion. It's what I felt/thought while reading the book. For 2021, I would rate the book this way:
1 - DNF'ed
2 - does not exist
3 - did not like
4 - it was okay
5 - I like it / I enjoy reading it (but it doesn't mean I recommend it)

11th century England, I believe. Medieval time period, a Norman warrior wins the land and the daughter of a man, in a game of dice.
Dominic struggles to win over Elsinora, daughter of the gambler, and still run the estate.
The story is interesting, the book entertaining overall.
Was this ever HOT HOT HOT! Early in the story Dominic, the scarred hero, "manually" seduces Elsinora in what must be one of the more erotic seduction scenes out there! Be still my heart, I am still panting over that. There are so many hot scenes in the book, they should be passing out oven mitts with each purchase.
The story moves at a fair pace, and is well edited. If you enjoy a hot-n-heavy erotic romance, look no furrher!

I know how Georgia Fox writes her books but to me this story was almost in a way the same as all the others except she gets to chose in the end. But the plot of the story was to shaky since the beginning and did not keep intrigue or interested in it especially how they use the main characters of the book. They were to far apart emotionally or did not show it until the end and then she chose Dom. For me the best parts of the book were the last quarter of it, in a way I did not like this story of the series very much.

This was my least favorite of the series. It felt too long. I got really tired of the two main characters complaining about each other, but unwilling to talk to each other. The love triangle also felt forced. In the beginning of the book, the heroine describes Stryker as if she can't stand him, but then once he comes back she can't decide between him and Dominic? Really?

This one was my least favorite, Elsinora made me mad! I never liked the whole picking one because that just meant that she couldn't make up her mind. Dominic was "sweet" and she was just like Bertha said "A Harpy" most of the time
