Each of us was placed on this earth for a certain number of days. Time is precious, and you don't want to waste it. You desire a life that has meaning and purpose but you find yourself caught in a current of non-stop rushing. When this becomes your existence, day after day, you find you've lived a series of months, even years, unintentionally. In the middle of all of this is the suffocating presence of anxiety. You want a life that matters, but how do you do that in the middle of...life? How do you use the struggle of anxiety as a path to a life of meaning? With short daily devotions and practical application, Numbering Our Days encourages you to move out of maintenance mode and away from the spiral of anxiety and into a life lived with intention. Anxiety doesn't have to define you. It can be what brings you back to Jesus, living a life that brings Him glory and points others to Him. This book will help you to pause, reflect with Scripture, and take action to combat anxiety and start living intentionally, one moment at a time. Because small moments, day by day, add up to an intentional life.
This book came to me at the perfect time. This is what the Lord does in our daily living!
If you suffer anxiety and depression in your life, this book is for you. It is beautifully written and very effortless to read. The applications are on point, and I keep reading ahead on the devotions. It’s very real and grants you perspective that is helpful in the day to day. Thank you!
There are some books we read and then toss in the donate box, but this book will remain on my shelf as a go-to resource. I know firsthand how anxiety can consume your thoughts and send your life spiraling out of control. But Numbering Our Days by Nichole Suvar is a powerful resource for anyone struggling with anxiety in the midst of life’s chaos. She weaves together personal stories, biblical truths, and practical guidance, creating a book that is both relatable and deeply impactful. Her insights, paired with scriptural references, offer a much-needed reminder that God calls us to an eternal focus—one that shifts our minds away from fear and toward His peace. If you struggle with anxiety or worry, I highly recommend this book to find a more intentional, peaceful life rooted in God’s truth.
I’m loving Numbering Our Days because it’s helping me to think through things from a different perspective. Nichole takes a psalm by Moses and fleshes it out step by step to help us see what living intentionally looks like in everyday life. As someone who wrestles with anxiety, this is a book I’ve been reading slowly because there are so many good nuggets to reflect on and digest!
“Your fulfillment of an intentional life does not start with you. It starts with Jesus. Every morning, every thought, every action begins with Jesus. When He becomes the reason why, then all the ’up to you’ is shifted from your shoulders to His…It does not start with us; it starts with Him. All of your life is up to Him, and He never fails.”
I love this devotional book by my friend Nichole Suvar! I had struggled with anxiety and panic attacks several years ago and I know how overwhelming this could be. Nichole’s book offers inspiration and practical help on how to combat anxiety successfully with God’s truths and the power of small intentional moments. Each devotional contains reflections, helpful questions motivating us to adjust our attitude and make changes, and a guided prayer. This book would be very helpful for you if you want to live intentionally and overcome anxiety in all main areas of your life.
Numbering Your Days is a wonderful resource for those struggling with anxiety in an already chaotic stressful world. Nichole takes you by the hand and leads you through a process called the three R’s to help us recognize the power of small intentional moments to combat anxiety. She also shares specific scriptural references along with her personal life stories to create a book I will be using in my daily quiet time for years to come. I have a new go-to when I feel stressed and anxious. I highly recommend this book.
If you struggle with anxiety and depression, grab this book, along with your highlighter and journal. Nichole does an excellent job tackling these subjects from a biblical perspective while opening up about her own struggles. Her writing style is relatable and vulnerable. The reflection prompts are very helpful as the reader navigates this challenging journey.
Oh my gosh! This book. I needed it last year as I studied about being intentional in my life. Even if anxiety is not your problem, this book stands out as a great help. I love the simple devotion of this book. As someone with anxiety, staying focused and intentional can be difficult. This book has helped me to take smaller bites, making life simpler.
I loved this book! This book has helped me to slow down and be intentional. It will help you, too, if you struggle with anxiety, overwhelm, and prioritizing what's truly important.
I have really enjoyed this book! I told myself that I would slow down and embrace being intentional through deliberately slowing down and treating this book as a true devotional in my journey towards being intentionally in my spirituality and daily life.
This book is so good, with so many tidbits of practical knowledge to be implemented each day. I have also found that what sticks out to me one day, has a different connotation the next. For example, "It's not difficult to be a pleasant and loving aroma towards those who complement us, make us happy, or fulfill a need. But when someone makes us late, misunderstands a conversation, or takes from us without permission, it can be challenging to continue to give off the aroma of grace" (p. 25). Today, specifically this stuck out to me, and I so needed to hear this in relation to my own life.
I do struggle with anxiety and I'm seeing much more clearly the way that I can be surrendering my anxiety, with the helpful practicality of these words. You do not have to struggle with anxiety to gain so much from this book. If you wish to implement knowledgeable tidbits of intentionality and a renewed perspective, then this is absolutely the book for you! Another aspect that I loved, the pictures in each weeks' devotions that touched on important aspects and reminders.
Nichole Suvar knows how to number her days with the One who holds her days in His hands. In her warm and encouraging tone, she invites readers to refrain from biting off more than they can chew and focus on the small steps one can take to live with intention. In our spiraling out-of-control world, Nichole narrows our focus to actions that carry meaning and purpose at a slower pace. With attention paid to the state of our heart and mind, Nichole challenges readers to recognize the temporal, reconnect to the eternal and refocus our intention. This book is a daily devotional that includes targeted time for reflection and space to write one's thoughts. With beautiful connections made to Scripture, this book will encourage your soul and help you make wise decisions as you live on purpose, for a purpose.

I love settling in with Nichol Suvar’s new book, “Numbering Our Days: Combatting Anxiety in the Power of Small Intentional Moments.” This book is helping me identify 7 areas of my life where I can be purposeful and intentional with my life and rest in God’s promises. If you suffer from anxiety, or worry, or are not sure how to purposefully and intentionally manage your time and day this book is for you.
Just like Matt 6:8 says: "For your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!" God knew I needed this book before I even did! This book has challenged me and helped me refocus. For someone that has PTSD this book dives into so much more than that. It can be for everyone that want to be more intentional.
I love how this book inspires you to be intentional each day. I think if we can make this a habit then anxiety would definitely dissipate. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to slow down, breathe and take the small intentional steps to keep moving forward.
