Assorted poetry, primarily of a darker nature. Some of it free-form, some of it lyrical, all of it special to the author. Nikolas explores the recesses of every shadowy corner of his imagination, leaving nothing untouched and nothing sacred. With subjects ranging from angry gods, vampires, zombies, and emptiness; to the more typical fare of love, romance, loss, and the sadism of intimacy there should be something for everyone within these pages.
I am a grandfather (seven times over), a Splatterpunk Award-nominated and 666 (Sixie) Award-winning horror author, a photographer and videographer, a (former) musician, a News Producer, and an avid consumer of media. Originally from the Twin Cities in Minnesota, I spent most of my life in the Black Hills of South Dakota. In September of 2022, I moved from my long-time home in South Dakota to the Pacific Northwest, where I'm working as a morning News Producer for Good Day Oregon on KPTV/KPDX. It's a pleasure to meet you, maybe you could find the time to check out some of the things I've written. There's more on the way. There's always more! It never ends.
Honestly, I find reviewing poetry a difficult thing to do. So while I cannot say anything concrete about it, I can say that the pieces are enjoyable. And after all, isn't that what reading is all about. It is on the darker side, but that's the side I prefer. The entries have depth, and don't conform to the flawed notion that everything has to rhyme. Definitely worth a read, and at .99 what are you waiting for?
