My current adventure has me living in Idaho with my own gray-bearded hero, who’s put up with my shenanigans for over thirty years, and he doesn’t mind all my book boyfriends. Keep Him Wild ~ Whiskey River West #7 by Kelly Moore. Blurb: Keep Him Wild is the suspenseful seventh book in the Whiskey River West romantic western series. If you like gallant heroes, tender moments, and swoon-worthy steam, then you’ll love Kelly Moore’s passionate tale. He has a playboy reputation. She’s new in town. Will his wild ways scare her off, or has he finally met a woman he can’t resist?
Simply...Brilliant... What can I say, Kelly just keeps on giving, each book has been written perfectly, with strong characters that you fall in love with from the very first time you have been introduced. The storyline is amazing, as always. This is Blaise Clahoun & Thayer a romantic author, with a special appearance from Noah, Ethan & Jane. I don't like to give spoilers as I believe this book is too good for them, and you need to purchase the book yourself and you too can fall in love with the Calhouns.
Here is one of many lines in the story that I loved:
"but there's nothing like building characters out of nothing more than thoughts and making them come alive and believing that readers are going to fall madly in love with them"
This line is so true, when I read Kelly's books, she really has made a mark on my enjoyment in reading her books and she is in my top five favorite authors. I highly recommend Keep Him Wild, please do read the others in the series, you will not be disappointed, believe me:)
This one is heartbreaking to start. Blaise has his ghosts from the past that keep dictating his future. Fake smiles and emotionless hook-ups are not the way to happiness.
Thayer has her demon too but refuses to stop living because of it.
When these two collide there is an instant spark that creates a fire neither can resist. But when one wants more and the other keeps pushing away, how can a love build in ashes?
Try as he might, Blaise cannot ignore this magnetic pull to her. But when danger comes knocking he must choose - life with a whole heart or a broken one.
This story gives you the love of the Calhoun family you have come to expect and a new appreciation for the broken and healing hearts. Blaise is now a favorite Whiskey River West resident and Thayer is my hero in the story.
Keep Him Wild is book 7 in the Whiskey River West series by Kelly Moore and WOW what a book!
Blaise Calhoun has a past that keeps all women at arms length, fake smiles and a heart behind steel walls until he meets Thayer Hawkins. With instant sparks he wonders if she might can how he views relationships, except she fights to keep him at arms length until the flame between them ignites…
Rollercoaster ride, emotional, healing the past, depression, family, stalker, sexy times and so much more…
Another great book by Ms. Moore. This book is more intense and emotional. I love the characters. Blaise and Thayer are perfect together. He had a dark pain to get over. I can understand the apprehension Blaise had from the tragedy Thayer endured with her ex. I am so glad Thayer held onto hope for them.
Oh my God, this series has had me feeling all of the feels, on the edge of my seat, frustrated, happy, and everything in between! So far in the Whiskey River West series, Blaise has kind of been the quiet, dark horse. Blaise won't commit because of a tragedy years ago but is still quite the ladies' man nevertheless. Author Thayer Hawkins moves to town to be with her best friend and as soon as she and Blaise lay eyes on one another, they are done. Except there are a few problems. Blaise hasn't processed and moved on from his past and Thayer is all too quick to think they can overcome anything together.
Good Lord this book. You know when you are reading something and the author has brought the characters to life so much that you feel like you are on the sidelines watching this all play out in real life? This is that book.
I'm not going into the plot too much but I will say this. If you were ever that girl in love with a boy that was an iron vault and you couldn't make any headway, this is for you. If you have ever thought, "maybe I can change his mind about love," then this is for you. To be honest, Blaise and Thayer's story is frustrating as hell. Kelly Moore perfectly crafted this couple but they just couldn't quite get it right. What the hell? This is a romance? We are supposed to get our happy ending, right? Be patient with this incredible work of art. Kelly Moore didn't just write a slow-burn romance, she has reinvented the entire genre.
As always with this series, you will probably need a Kleenex or two but the overall feeling you will be left with after reading this is: maybe, just maybe love is real. Enjoy!
I haven’t been able to figure out Blaise for awhile now. I wanted to like him, but didn’t understand why he was the way he was. Let me tell you, his past is a heartbreaking one. Thayer is a strong woman who is fighting to live her life and not let her past dictate her future. Once they meet, the spark is ignited, but their pasts might be too much to form a real connection.
Blaise struggles with what happened when he was younger. He is seeing a therapist and living his life one meaningless hook up after the other. He wears fake smiles and acts as of everything is fine, but deep down he wants what his cousins have found. He just doesn’t think he will ever have it. Thayer changes everything for him, but he continues to struggle with letting her in.
Thayer moved to start over after an ex proved to be very difficult. She is instantly drawn to Blaise, but tells herself to stay away. The only problem, she can’t. I loved how strong she was and how she supported him when needed and understood why he pushed her away when he did. Whether her love will be enough remains to be seen.
I loved this book, and you will probably need a box of tissues nearby. This family is fantastic and I loved these two together and for each other. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
I hurt for Blaise through most of the book. He was a wild guy that was known for his playing around. He was a good looking guy that had a demon that would not let go of him. Something terrible happened when he was 18 that wouldn’t let go of him. I loved when he met Thayer that he felt something for the first time in over ten years. Thayer had moved in with her best friend in Montana. She did everything she could to get away from a stalker in Boston. Thayer’s best friend kept telling her not to get involved with Blaise, but Thayer saw something in him. I was glad Blaise had a therapist he could turn to when he was getting inside his head. There were times I wanted to strangle him too! Things take a turn for the worse towards the end. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
This is a great story! Kelly never disappoints. Just loved Thayer and Blaise. Blaise has some things that he can’t get over from his past. He is known as the player of the town. When he spots Thayer that all seems to shift. Thayer is moving to town and has her own secrets. Her best friend isn’t a fan of Blaise and doesn’t want her friend to be hurt. Will they be able to get past their past and be together? It was also great to catch up with everyone else.
Keeping his heart closed but his jeans open is the way Blaise lives his life. That is until he meets Thayer and the sparks that fly can be seen for miles. But can this cowboy change his ways and allow the city girl into his heart? The reader's heart will break with the Blaise's backstory and get rip roaring mad with Thayer's predicament. But in the end it makes for yet another masterpiece from Kelly Moore. Once again the readers are not disappointed.
Whiskey River West series is about the Calhoun grandkids. It seems to me all of the kids have grown up to have quite serious relationship issues. Luckily for each of them so far, they have meet their person to help them work thru their difficulties. Blaize seems to have had the darkest of past experiences shading his present. Thayer seems to be his present matching her patience and understanding with him. They are perfect together. This family is one of ,y favorites to read!
Arc review for honest review. Wow fantastic 10 stars I love Kelly Moore's books again she writes another story that make you feel what each character is feeling. In this story blaise Calhoun is a man with issues with his depression ,but when he meets Thayer Hawkins a romance novelist .she the one women that has his heart only she has her own issue.
I loved Blaise and Thayer. This one shredded me from the very beginning. Blaise and Thayer both fight their own demons but it become evident that they also want to fight for the future they could have together. There’s plenty of chemistry and heat but also plenty of chances to grab your tissues! 5 stars!!
Blaise, a man who struggle with life. On the outside he smiles, but the inside…. Thayer, fleeing, hiding, trying to stay alive. Starting a new life, far away from her ex. You wouldn’t think these two would be good together.. thankfully you would be wrong. I loved their story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Blaise and Thayer’s HEA was most definitely hard earned but so worth it!!
Real and so relatable…this is what I love about these characters that Kelly Moore creates!!
There’s not one thing I don’t love about this story!!! Oh and I’ll just say that I absolutely adore Thayer and her ability to still put herself out there after all she’s been through!!
Thank you to this amazing author for another great book, this is a fantastic read, this book made me feel happy, sad, angry, and excited all in one. I felt for Blaise and Thayer with what they were going through, I loved this whole series and the series before
Another great book in this series with cousin Blaise who has been dealing with his past life by sleeping around and Thayer is dealing with her past by trying to move forward. Loved their relationship as it developed into more than either one expected.
Good story! Good, fast paced story for Blaise & Thayer. Definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions, and a long way for the HEA, but I’m so happy that they were able to find their sole mates.
