I was a little skeptical when my friend suggested I read this, but it was entertaining and definitely worth reading like she promised. All that aside, I thought it was pretty well done. Yeah it was written by a man intended for women, but not necessarily for women, and even so it wasn't "meant for women" in the sense that any feminists (at least not any reasonably intelligent ones) should get all huffy about. I certainly wasn't offended. It was written for women in the sense that it was providing a guy's point of view, and given my guy friends' opinions on it, he was pretty accurate. Overall I thought it was very funny, though some of the jokes were a little crude for my taste (Natalie Halloway). I think the author made the book very relatable, and I liked how comedic aspect enhanced the seriousness of what he was saying.
I read this book when I was 22-23 and I remember enjoying it then.
Now reading as a 27 year old woman, I still rather enjoyed it AND I have a whole new appreciation and new perspective on things. I read this book on my Kindle both times and was able to see where I highlighted some lines when I read it the first time and even added some new highlights the second time around.
Of course I didn’t agree with everything this book discusses, however, the author does make good and interesting points and I found myself thinking “never thought of it that way.” So, take this book with a grain of salt. You might not agree with everything but I’m sure you’ll find something to agree with.
only a quarter of the way through this "dating guide" written by a man for women...so far it's too early to give my thoughts with he exception of this; it desperately needs to be edited. the steady stream of conscious writing is exhausting.
