But one day, she found herself falling for Mitchi. Suddenly, he was more important than extra rice.

Noon ko pa naiisip, reader's choice seals couldn't be trusted once you rely to that in picking a pocketbook. This one's a proof. Yeah, I didn't really laugh, I was disappointed.
I've heard so much about this newbie's novels and I got curious since everyone had a positive feedback after reading this. Thankfully, nakahiram ako nito at na-satisfy ang curiosity ko matapos mabasa sa sarili ko ito.
Pansin ko, there were too many little details na hindi hindi naman kailangan and I didn't like it. Like the way I didn't like--you could say I hate it--to strong for me to say but yeah--ung parte ng narration lalo na sa first chapters. At hindi ko ma-gets kong bakit parang laging idinidiin na mahirap lang ung babae, to the point na pathetic siyang puro mumurahin ang gamit niya gayong sikat na fashion designer ang kapatid niya at kung saan-saang bansa nakakarating ang mommy niya.
But I liked some of the hero and heroine's banters pero dahil konti lang iyon, natatabunan ng narration na para sa akin, exaggerated na minsan lalo sa paggamit ng words. Naging very moving sa akin ung part na nakaraan ng heroine dahil masyado talaga siyang mabigat. Pero bakit hindi man lang siya nagkaroon ng clue sa totoong pagkatao ng bf niya noon kung ganoong nakakarinig na siya ng mga tsismis and to think that her brother was also a closet queen. Hindi ba dapat, kahit paano, makatunog siya dahil isang malapit sa kanya ang ganoon?
Then after that, the whole story felt flat. Parang nakalimutan na ang mga mabibigat na bagay sa buhay niya and they started teasing each other na parang simpleng sitwasyon lang ang lahat na mauuwi sa pagkakagustuhan nila. There were also two consecutive small scenes na parang wala namang kuwenta, ung nagpunta sila sa concert. Why the heck they didn't grab that opportunity to have some romantic moments? Hindi ako kinilig, that's the biggest disappointment after reading this and in any other phr novels that I’ve read for the past years. Parang nakakalimutan romance ang genre, tapos walang kilig???
Naintindihan ko ung naging insecurities ng heroine kung bakit siya nakipaghiwalay pero mmasyado ng hindi appealing sa akin ang ganoong katapusan and she tried to find herself for three freakin' years at ang naka-highlight na ginawa niya sa ganoon katagal na panahon ay ang tulungan ang bading na ex-bf niya hanggang sa mamatay iyon. Hindi satisfying ang katapusan lalong hindi satisfying ang romance kung meron man

When I saw the Reader's Choice seal on the cover, I expected highly of this novel. So I guess it was my fault for feeling this kind of disappointment after reading the novel. It was good at first. I don't know what changed. When I was at the middle, I became bored. Somehow, I was disappointed on the interaction between the hero and the heroine. Ang hirap ipaliwanag. Di ba mayroong libro na talagang mula umpisa hanggang huli, word by word ay binabasa mo? Dito, ang dami kong nilaktawan kasi nga, hindi ko na trip. But she has the potential for a newbie.
