***

Working with the Enemy is the first book in a series of standalone sweet romance novels that all take place on the set of Marriage Material. It can be read alone, or as part of the series.

The Marriage Material series is sweet/clean romance. There will be no sex on the page and no profanity in this series (the word "crap" is as far as foul language will go). Working with the Enemy features themes of divorce, past infidelity, and mentions of infertility.

Such a fun, easy read. Each evening I couldn’t wait to get back to the story and see what the latest happenings were with Max and Andi!

Andi and Max are producers on “Marriage Material” a reality dating show along the lines of “The Bachelorette”. With their boss about to leave to become a mother, one of them is going to take her place. Which one depends on who emerges on top from the challenge she’s set for them. But how do you outdo your rival when you’re asked to prove it by working together?

Andi’s love life is a non-event while Max’s cheating wife has left him broken-hearted, but their personal disasters need to take a backseat to the very pressing problem of winning their dream job. If you like rivals to lovers and workplace romance, or are one of millions besotted with reality dating shows, this book comes highly recommended.

What a great book!

I loved “Working with the Enemy”! It managed to be a fun and entertaining story while also being deeper than the average romance. The characters of Max and Andi were so well depicted. I enjoyed Andi’s relationship with her sisters. And I loved the behind the scenes look at what it’s really like to work on a reality dating show. I also liked how Andi, like a lot of women, doesn’t want to have kids (in my experience it’s rare to find that in a female main character of a romance). Plus there’s an adorable dog, Bowser. Also, the ending was perfect! Five stars!!

This was a light and enjoyable read. It was fun to take a peek behind the curtain onto the production set of a dating game. The two main characters are work rivals who are forced to work together in producing the current season of the TV show and as they grow closer, sparks begin to fly. My favorite tropes in this book were enemies to lovers and only one bed. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Exploring the modern woman

Mrs. Beebe is back with her latest installment exploring the curious mind of a producer on a show that resembles The Bachelorette.
Told from a first person perspective of the producer, Andi, this work walks the reader through the mind of the modern woman while digging into questions like: 'what is romance?', 'can I still have a career'?
Highly recommended.

This was a fun book. Banter between Andie and Max as they are forced to work together because both are after the same promotion was fun. It took a little long to get to the romance for me but a very enjoyable book! I received an advanced copy and chose to leave a review.

Cassie Beebe, thank you so much for this ARC!! I totally loved Andi and Max's story! The banter and silliness kept me on my toes, and I cannot wait for the next in the series! Also, this is a super short review, and I'm sorry for that!

A Clean Slow Burn Bachelorette Reality TV Romance.

Do you like watching The Bachelor and The Bachelorette reality TV shows? If yes, then this book is just for you! "Working with the Enemy" is loosely based on these shows, but a clean version without the bad language and without any open door sex. Although there were perhaps a few implications of sexual activity going on, this is definitely a closed door romance. Expect to feel a slow burn tension and sizzle between the main characters, just nothing graphic.

I enjoyed the main characters, Max and Andi. This is a workplace romance where the hero and heroine have been working together as co-producers for years. It does not appear they considered each other as more than friends before, so this is more of a coworkers or friends to lovers type romance. When the book begins, Max is separated from his wife and undergoing a difficult divorce, emotionally. This separation and working through divorce continues on throughout most of the book. It's clear Max still loves his wife, but he is a workaholic that placed work first and didn't spend enough time with his wife... eventually resulting in her wandering away to greener pastures. Andi is also a workaholic, but is so devoted to her job that she doesn't even have time to think about dating anyone. Max and Andi bond together throughout the duration of the story and eventually begin to form a romantic attachment to each other.

While Max and Andi are growing closer together, Andi also seems to form a bit of attachment to one of the show contestants. To be honest, I actually was rooting more for the show contestant she was working closely together with, rather than Max. I realize this is obviously not the popular opinion! But I have a soft spot for underdogs and I personally thought this guy seemed to be a better fit for Andi, since they both shared similar personalities and interests. Also, there was the very obvious fact this guy was completely unattached, whereas Max was still hanging on to his estranged wife almost until the very end. Furthermore, Andi was hands down, a much better option than the flaky bachelorette getting cozy with 20 different suitors at the same time and somehow hoping to find "marriage material!" You’ll have to read the book and see which guys the bachelorette and Andi eventually end up with. I admit, my heart broke for the good guy left behind (that neither girl seemed to want), but don't worry, everyone eventually wins in the end! There is another book already in the works that will be based on HIS story.

I always enjoy reading Cassie Beebe's books, since I know they will be well written with little to no typos or grammatical issues. It's refreshing to read a good quality book that is thoroughly edited and with well developed characters! I recommend giving Cassie Beebe's books a try and supporting her journey as an up and coming author!
