This is the second part of the latest translation of "Oshin" written by Hashida Sugako to television. I loved the translation and wondered why there is no English translation at least, not here at GRs.

Oshin holds the record for the highest average rating in Japanese television history and has been watched/loved by all Sri Lankans other than those who might've been in comas.

The second part starts with Oshin's marriage to Ryuzo and follows up with her adoption of Kayo's son Nozomi. Whatever I write here won't be spoilers but/and writing anything would be pointless since almost everyone has watched the drama unless those who had been in comas.

Certain things my young self didn't realize watching this as a kid and a teenager, there are quite a some, here are some:

Ryuzo is a puppy, puppet and a momma's boy and her Lord Voldemortish mother must've dropped him on his head as a child.

Oshin should have married Kota but if she had done so the strong woman in her would've completely disappeared for he'd have taken care of her.

Oshin is very much a historical fiction with records of significant events that shook Japan.

A very quick read, read it in less than a day.
