This practical, manageable guide for those supporting moms in labor and birth is an encouragement to attend with patience and gentleness. I really appreciated the clear descriptions of strategies and options. This booklet will stay in my "toolbox"!

The information in this book is excellent. The way it is presented feels a little less than excellent. The book is rather repetitive at times. It also felt dated and just wasn’t an engaging read for me; although I realize I’m reading this 2 decades after it was published. I did like the charts of various labor positions with their advantages and disadvantages, and I also enjoyed the quotes at the chapter beginnings.
