He thought he wanted to know the truth. He was dead wrong.

Curtis Merryweather appears to be living the American dream. A war hero in 50s Los Angeles with a thriving business and his own ads on TV. Scratch beneath the surface though and Curtis is a man living on the edge. A man whose wife and child disappeared 5 years ago and who owes his success to his relationship with a violent gangster.
Curtis's world is turned upside down one night when his house is invaded by armed men. This starts Curtis on a terrifying journey that sees him searching for the truth about his family and witnessing things he would never have believed possible.

Sunliner is a novel unlike any other, a dizzying mix of genres told with an energy and verve that grabs hold of the reader and won't let them go. It pays homage to the pulps and B-Movies of the 1950s, blending hardboiled crime, horror and science fiction into a unique fast-paced tale of one man's search for redemption.

"Awesome. A truly terrific debut from an author I'm certain we will read more of. Sunliner is fast paced and exciting and wills you not to put it down. The readers' perception of events changes with each chapter as finally, all becomes clear. As brutal, charming, gripping and funny a story as you could wish for from a book."

"Sunliner is kaleidoscopic. It's colourful, surprising and page-turningly good. Oliver Clarke manages to evoke so many different genres and moods, it almost gives you vertigo. All you readers out there who like this sort of thing ... you'll really really like it!"

"An absolutely thriling read! The twists & turns in this book are so unexpected I actually gasped out loud a few times, if you don't read this you are missing out on a cracker. Looking forward to more from this author."

"Sunliner has it all - mystery, romance, murder, action and comedy - and the plot twists and turns almost as often as the genre changes. Starts off by setting the scene, mid-1950s USA, giving it a very film noir feel. But hey, once things get rolling the story changes gears, and certainly does not go where one might expect it! To say more would spoil it, but it climaxes well and comes full circle nicely."

Wow. Difficult to review without spoilers. A great story that starts with the kind of dark LA style thriller tone you'll have read before. It gets progressively more violent before a plot twist that will knock you for six. Strange, but oddly not out of place or unbelievable, I suggest you give it a read. Oh and nice ending. :) I usually complain about the endings to Oliver's stories, but not this one.

Al Capone vs The Terminator

Certainly a book of two halves. The first half read as a decent pulp fiction 1940’s noir thriller and then went completely off script.

Despite the genre change it still held together and raced to a thrilling climax
