Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) has become a common approach in the coaching industry, but many are still skeptical about it being a substantive and coherent methodology. This book is the first to look at NLP coaching as an evidence-based discipline. Susie Linder-Pelz describes how NLP coaching works, using examples and case studies to highlight what distinguishes it from other coaching approaches. She briefs readers on the theoretical underpinnings of NLP, and she explains which aspects of NLP can be backed with evidence and which aspects are not yet substantiated. A set of research questions helps coaches understand when and how to use NLP.

On readability I only give it three stars. However, on academic writing it fully deserves the whole row. It does count down that I personally needed to pull myself back to the book in order to get the very interesting content of it. If you have an academic mind and a critical sense of psychological theories, this book takes you through some interesting considerations of research. If you seek to read it for your personal enjoyment, consider another one.
