This book just didn't work for me. Trey a country music superstar and alcoholic and womanizer decides he wants his wife back after being divorced for 5 years because he finds out that she's moving on and marrying someone else. Sierra never really got over Trey and although she says she can't take him back it sure doesn't take him long to win her back. In fact it's only a matter of days.

This book had a couple of things I really hate in a book:

1) The author's need to demonize the guy she doesn't stay with. Why does the fiancé have to end up being a horrible person. (I wish author's didn't feel the need to make us hate the other guy - why can't we sympathize with him). Sometimes things just don't work out but he doesn't have to be a complete villain. And to top it all off he couldn't even perform sexually. I mean really? I didn't understand the need for the heroine to have not had sex with any one else since the divorce. Especially since the hero was having sex with tons of women.

2)When they do have sex - no condom even though he was drunk all the time and had sex with a lot of other woman. He insists he always used a condom (although he was so drunk I'm not sure how he can know this) and she believes him anyway.

3) The heroine gets blamed for the break-up because she kept something back from the hero. Even though he was an alcoholic, left her alone two weeks after she lost their baby and was basically always out on tour or getting drunk in a bar. All of a sudden she's to blame and she takes the blame on and feels guilty? Way too much of a doormat for me.

4) Hero suddenly decides he's going to quit drinking and that's it. Not really mentioned again except for going to one AA meeting. As if it would be that simple.

5) The best friend who is his manager is really a JERK! He doesn't seem to be looking out for his best friend more for his own pocketbook. He hates the ex-wife and then does a complete 180 at the end with a less than believable explanation.

6) The Hero takes the easy way and lets his actions hurt the heroine. When Trey's best friend brings the girl he's having sex with to his family's party when he brings his ex-wife Trey does nothing. The girl throws herself at Trey and kisses him and says something that makes it obvious they are having sex and he does nothing even though his ex is right there and he knows this would hurt her. Then later he dances with the "girlfriend" and even though he's breaking it off he doesn't let his ex know this so it just looks like he's enjoying dancing with the girlfriend.

Honestly, by the end of the book I didn't like Trey and I thought Sierra was a complete push over. I was going to give this book two stars but after writing this I realize how much I didn't like this book and I'm giving it one star.

This book reads like a soap opera. I love it. The story is about Trey Turner a mega-country superstar and his ex-wife Sierra. All the other Nashville players will likely be featured in upcoming books. Shameless is the first book in the Nashville Nights series.

Here are some things you need to know:

1. Trey and Sierra are divorced but they still love each other and have the hots for each other.
2. Every time you think things are going their way, something bad will happen to pull them apart.
3. Can you say pigheaded? Both of them are.
4. You will want to bitch slap Luc at least 5 times in this story. (OK probably more than 5)
5. There will be a happy ending! It is a romance after all.

This was a really quick read. I really liked Trey and Sierra, though there were times when I wanted to smack them both upside the head. Just because, ya know, they both made a lot of decisions without really thinking first.

Oh and along with the great story, there's some steamy sex too.

Perfect romance novel if you ask me. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Some spoilers ahead....

I'll try to keep my review short, but I have to say, I didn't like this book much. It started off good, but went downhill for me around the halfway mark, where I ended up skimming to the end.
Sierra allowed everyone to manipulate her into getting back with Trey, maybe because she didn't have the balls to go after what she wanted herself. The part that made me start skimming to the end was
***********SPOILERS**********
When they don't have a condom and he's telling her he always wore protection with every woman he was with (and there were many!) And she tells him it's okay, she believes him. Really Sierra? Wasn't he blindly drunk a lot during the previous five years? I would be demanding a copy of his test results!!
Then there's the fact that she never really moved on. Oh, and the part with Luc doing a sudden turn around and his reasons for being so difficult with Sierra didn't seem believable. But now everything is fine???!!!
***********END SPOILERS*********
For me, in order for a story that involves separation/second chances to work, the heroine needs to have moved on and if the hero has been a manwhore, that's cool. Just be realistic about unprotected sex and STD's. It kind of icks me out otherwise.

I hated this book! The main characters acted like children! Granted, they had a devastating loss, but that didn't excuse their behavior when they met back up after 5 years! Most of their problems could have been worked out or solved if they had actually sat down with one another and communicated! Their return relationship was started under false pretenses and neither of them showed that they were actually worthy of the other's trust, let alone getting re-married. Sadly, the few sexual encounters weren't all that erotic and I felt they shouldn't have been in the book. This is one series and author I will be abandoning!

The life of a musician can be an exciting one at times, but the pressures resulting from fame can sometimes be overwhelming too. Add in a devastating personal loss and life can spin out of control. For country star Trey Turner the loss of his baby daughter is just the beginning of a descent into guilt and depression from which only the return of the only woman he'll ever love can soothe. For Sierra Brooks, returning to the chaotic life she shared with Trey where she felt out of place and unimportant, sets herself up for heartache just when she's starting her life over and it scares her. But if they truly want to be happy reconnecting and putting past hurts behind them is the only way they'll achieve it.

Trey has hit rock bottom at the start of this story relying on drugs and alcohol to get through the pain of guilt eating away at him. All he feels he has left is his music but with a case of writer's block weighing on him he realizes he now has nothing. I ached for Trey and his feelings of loneliness and guilt. He's always been successful in his career but his personal life has completely fallen apart. He worked for so long to achieve fame and fortune and now has no one to share it with. He's an honorable man for the most part who's hit some emotional obstacles along the way but wants and knows he needs to change. His love for Sierra is undeniable and he's willing to give up everything to get her back.

Sierra grew up with an alcoholic father and longed for a family. She was extremely happy being Trey's wife but felt uncomfortable in his world. She admired his achievements but was jealous at the same time wishing she too could find her place in the world. Her uncertainties and insecurities contributed to their divorce along with the death of their child. Sierra's matured since then finding passion in her charities and this maturity shows. She speaks her mind now and won't let herself be hurt by following the same path. Her love for Trey never died and when he needs her most she's there.

The moment these two come face to face the sexual tension reignites. The looks and touches between them gave me goosebumps in its emotional intensity. Once they hit the sheets though their connection becomes even more combustible. It was a five alarm fire between them and these scenes were nicely spaced throughout the story giving you just enough time to cool off before getting you heated up again. The love between them was very obvious during these sexual interludes.

Not only were the primary characters wonderful but so too were the secondary characters. They were all likable with interesting tidbits doled out about them that have me dying to learn more about them. The roadblocks put upon Trey and Sierra made for some good emotional drama and were perpetuated by some truly despicable characters and I was pleased to see the villains get their comeuppance.

This was an emotionally heart wrenching story with a truly likable couple who've been through some hardships making their way back to each other. I admired the hero for overcoming his addictions and cheered for true love being triumphant. This story drew me in heart and soul from the very first page to the satisfying conclusion after the final page was turned. Those wanting to ride an emotional rollercoaster climb on board and add this to your book list.

I love when I get a book to review for a blog tour and I absolutely fall in love with it. Shameless is one of those books. It has characters wonderfully flawed characters that have to fight to get back what they lost, but when they get it right it absolutely fantastic.

Trey Turner is this hottest thing in country music. He portrays himself as a fun loving guy but in reality he's a miserable drunk thinking of ways to end the painful reminders of losing the woman he loves and the child they both lost. It was interesting to see Trey thumb is nose at family and friends by opening drinking in front of them. Even his best friend and agent enabled Trey to continue on his self-destructive ways. But it wasn't until Sierra stepped back into the picture that she finally got his act together. Makes you wonder why no one tried to get them together sooner.

Sierra was an interesting character. Where Trey wore his feelings on his sleeve and was very open about his desire to reconnect with Sierra again, Sierra did her best to only show Trey her anger and resentment for what he did to her. She'd moved on with an older man who she was sure to only like and not having to worry about breaking her heart. But later we find that Sierra has kept a pretty big secret that was the a large reason for why she left Trey. While most people may use that as a reason to not like Sierra, her reasoning in a time of tremendous grief made sense, no matter how deceptive it was.

A heartbreaking and emotional read with a couple who were truly meant to be together, they just needed to learn to talk to each other a bit more.

Second Chances with a Nashville star and his ex wife

I really liked the concept of a husband and wife reconciling after their marriage collapsed 5 years before. The Hero goes from being strung out, drunk amd with many girls to being motivated to turn his life around, get sober and go after the only woman he has ever loved..his ex wife.

I was a little disappointed until 50 percent into the book because I thought..so it's that easy ehh..the heroine is just going to accept him back. Then the other woman drama did pick the story up.

My Review:
What an incredibly emotional book. Five years ago, Trey and Sierra's marriage fell apart. It was a year after the death of their newborn baby girl and Trey was running. Running away from the guilt and the grief. He did that by pouring everything he had into his music, touring, and drinking and that didn't leave anything for his wife Sierra who was also grieving, so she filed for divorce. After a couple of years Trey managed to pull himself out of his depression, but he never recovered from the loss of Sierra.

Now he's been put back into a tailspin. A year ago, he witnessed a car crash where a mother and little girl died. The little girl died in his arms and would have been the same age as his and Sierra's daughter. This time, he can't manage to pull himself out of the downward spiral that he's in and his family is worried.

Sierra has stayed on good terms with Trey's family although she hasn't seen him since the divorce. When his sister calls for help, she can't turn her back on the man that was once her whole world.

There is never any doubt throughout this story that these two are totally and completely in love, but there has been so much hurt and betrayal between the two of them. Sierra isn't willing to risk her heart to Trey again.

I immediately connected with both of these characters and got sucked into this emotional story line. Trey is so depressed at the beginning of the book. He's this huge Country music star, but he's lost everything when he lost Sierra. He's drinking heavily and he can no longer compose music. His pain is literally palpable across the page. You want to just give him a huge hug, but that doesn't change the fact that he treated Sierra horribly prior to their divorce which is hard to forgive.

Sierra is a strong emotional character. Trey was awful and left her destitute (although in his drunken state after the divorce, he wasn't even aware), but she overcame all of that and founded an incredible charity for parents who've lost children. She knows that she'll never get over her love for Trey, but is willing to settle for a nice friendship with her new fiance. She isn't willing to let him trample her heart again.

I love a good book with angst and this one has tons...so yep, I was a happy reader. It also has a fantastic setting in the music business in Nashville. Trey and Sierra are both songwriters and there are some gorgeous songs throughout the book. In addition, there is a fabulous cast of characters that I can't wait to see more of because this is a start to a series...LOVE THAT!

I couldn't wait to get this book over with. I mean there were some good moments but really I was bored through most of it.

Trey and Sierra work on their relationship after their divorce. Everything works out by the end but not before I had to read through some really bad dialogue. I felt as though my daughter was writing it not an Author. I developed some feelings for the characters but not enough to really attach I just wanted to get past this book and move on.

Author Cheryl Douglas tells the dramatic, heart breaking story of country music superstar Trey Turner in this gripping romance.

Shameless begins with a spicy scene where Trey is partying with a pack of groupies, when his wife Sierra walks in on him for the last time. The story then jumps into the future, where Sierra has left Trey and he’s lost all hope and turned to substance abuse and sleeping around.

The author portrays Trey as a man who’s top dog in the country music world, yet his taste for writing music has turned bland and the drive to create and promote his next hit album is being washed down with a tumbler of alcohol.

Trey’s friends and family band together in an attempt to bring Sierra, his ex-wife and sole source of inspiration, back to him. In doing so many twists and turns in the story come into play, leaving the reader guessing what’s to happen next.

I truly enjoyed the feel of this story. The setting was of course, Nashville Tennessee, and I literally felt like I was there hearing the drawl and witnessing the family culture. Cheryl Douglas has a knack for getting the reader properly acquainted with each character individually, so we can feel and think the way they do.

It was a touching story that left me in tears on a few occasions, which is rare. What made Shameless unique was what tore Trey and Sierra apart to begin with, and how they mended fences and paved the way back to each other. It was unexpected as on the surface it looks like infidelity is the cause of their separation, however after reading the dialogue between Trey and Sierra, we are shocked to learn that it’s not.

Here are some excerpts I particularly enjoyed:

Trey Turner tipped the plastic bottle and watched the little white pills scatter across the desktop. One would take the edge off; twenty would end it all.

He knew that every day he lived without creative inspiration was another day closer to sealing his fate.

“When she died, a part of me died too. That experience changed me, changed my life, and no matter the circumstances surrounding the loss, there is no pain in the world greater than losing your child. For those of you who have children, go home tonight and tell them you love them. Hold them tight for those of us who wish we still had the chance to do just that.”

“I’m so sorry for the things I said back then. I was drunk every day for almost a year after you left. I couldn’t form a coherent thought. Every statement I made to the press was just the ramblings of a drunk, bitter man who was destroyed because the woman he loved more than life itself dumped his sorry ass.”

He may have been able to convince the naïve girl he’d married that sex was the foundation of a good relationship, but the battle-weary woman he divorced knew better than to believe that sex, no matter how good, could obliterate all of the problems in a relationship.

He nodded, his pale blue eyes filling with tears. “She asked me if I thought Callie was in Heaven.” He cleared his throat. “I told her I did.”

“You know she is.”

“She asked me if I thought she’d go to Heaven too.” He choked back a sob. “I told her I did. She told me she’d say hi to Callie for me, and then she was gone.”

Trey dipped his head on the last note, struggling to find a voice that had never failed him. It felt like someone was grinding broken glass into his chest, piercing his heart. When she walked out on him, he was blinded with pain and rage. He wanted to hurt her the way he was hurting him. It never occurred to him she was hurting as much, maybe more.

He was writing it for her, to her, about them. If it became a hit song, so be it. If it helped him get over his writer’s block, great. But if it helped him to win her back, that meant everything.

“Last I heard, she wasn’t ready to set a date. What the hell did you do to piss her off, son?”

Their bodies melded in a familiar rhythm that time and distance had done nothing to dissipate. She still fit with him as no other woman ever had.

He looked across the dance floor at his wife, now dancing in the arms of her son. “If you’re lucky, you find the love of your life. I know some people who never get that lucky.” He smiled at Sierra. “I met mine when I was seventeen and I’ve thanked God for her every day since. Hell, I don’t know what I’d do without that little lady; she’s my rock.”

He looked her in the eye again. “This man you’re marrying, Eric, is he the one? Is he the love of your life, darlin’?”

“I, uh..”

“Not a difficult question, Sierra. If he is, you’d be able to tell me right away. If he isn’t, well, I’d sure hate to see you make another mistake.”

“Meaning you think I made a mistake when I married your son?”

He smiled, the light never reaching his eyes. “No, I think you made the mistake when you divorced him.”

“She’s not your daughter-in-law anymore, Ma.”

She waved a manicured hand in the air. “That’s merely a technicality. A piece of paper doesn’t change the way you feel about someone.” She looked at him pointedly. “In my heart, she’ll always be my daughter.”

There are so many wonderful excerpts, trust me! I’d love to quote them all but you’ll just have to read the book…well done Cheryl Douglas! I’m looking forward to reading the next in your series.

I absolutely ended up loving this book, even though the beginning was hard to read personally as I grew up with a stepdad who abused alcohol, so it was still a raw nerve to chafe against but when Trey quit booze just to have a better chance at having Sierra back again it became an easier read - and then it became great!

The plot is fantastic! Trey's desperation to get his ex-wife back, all the unspoken past between them, the secrets, the hurt and the love. Even with a setting as dark as this Shameless was still great romance without being too angsty ( after you get through Chapter 1 ), it had lust, passion, broken hearts, hope and forgiveness that made it so worthwhile reading! Shameless is a story of hope, love and forgiveness in the greatest country town in the world, Nashville!

I was thoroughly invested in Sierra and Trey's relationship, after they met again in chapter two I was sold, there was so much passion there some visible, some hidden and some tried to be buried rising to the surface. Trey's alcoholic past screwed up everything, and it was so hard to read the parts where he regretted his actions with such soul twisting hurt that it was impossible to stop reading the book. Of course Sierra wasn't without blame either, but her secrets to why she let the marriage go are just as heart breaking as Trey's. But then there's the passion between them and the love and it makes up for all past wrongs! And that was beautiful to read! And I rooted for the Happy Ending the whole time - and was so happy to receive it - but it seems these two will have to work on their relationship as long as they stay together, and I loved that realistic note at the end.

Shameless is a sensual story packed full of passion, temptation and forbidden love – even though the story isn’t full of love scenes it’s the “I shouldn’t, almost giving into” temptation Sierra goes through around Trey even though she’s engaged to another man, and the desperate passion to have her in his bed again that Trey feels every time she’s close that make this book seriously HOT!

You'll love this if... you like your heroes broken but willing to fix themselves for their greatest love, if you like reading your heroes chasing after their girl, and if you like your country singers absolutely loyal and looking like a sexy linebacker with a killer smile.

With $0.99 this is an awesome find, I recommend it highly!

Shameless is the first book in author Cheryl Douglas's Nashville Nights series. Seeing as this is also the first book I have read by this author I did not have my hopes set too high. I don't like to have to high of expectations when venturing into new territory, I believe it's best to give new authors/books the benefit until I can get an idea of their writing style. I was surprisingly pleased with this one! The cover of the book wasn't a wow moment for me and I do believe that the cover of a book is like a first appearance. And if the first appearance is the cover than it makes sense that the book description is liken to an opening line or pick up line! It just so happens I liked the book description. The book is about a country music star, Trey Turner who seems to be struggling and going down hill ever since he and his wife divorced. His ex-wife, Sierra Brooks also never really recovered from her marriage with Trey but is determined to move on in her life and is engaged to be married. When a situation places both Trey and Sierra back in each others lives Sierra struggles with trying to keep her heart from breaking again and keeping her ex at bay. Trey obviously still in love with Sierra doesn't plan to let her slip out of his life again and is determined to show her that he is a changed man but still completely hers.
This was a quick read for me and like I mentioned before, I was happy I read it. It makes me want to read another book by Cheryl Douglas. The storyline was easy to follow and flowed smoothly. The characters were developed well enough for me to understand their emotions and characteristics. I also thought there were some funny parts in this book. Normally I like my fictional musicians to be rock stars but I have to say that Trey Turner didn't disappoint me in the slightest. He still had the bad boy struggling to be good to gain the love of a woman type of persona and the fact that he was a country musician didn't matter because I still viewed him as a rock star for some odd reason. Sierra's character was good too, believable and strong. I would recommend this for a good weekend read.

Country music, romance, and even a little bit of mystery--this makes up this particular romance by Cheryl Douglas. I have to say that I loved the country music aspect, and I loved the fact that Trey and Sierra loved each other enough to make some real sacrifices for each other. It is a shame that they weren't open and honest with each other--they would have saved themselves a lot of heartache. This book reminds you that second chance love may not be such a bad thing.

If you are looking for a very hot romance, then this book is for you. Sierra and Trey cannot keep their hands off of each other! And that is my issue with the book. It's honestly not the sex because I don't really mark down books for that. My issue was that it often seemed that was all these two had going for them. I would have preferred seeing more of the relationship between the two of them develop in other ways. Yes, there was profanity--so be warned if you don't like that. But I could handle that, and the book is not marked down in any way for that. I just wanted to see Sierra and Trey be romantic without being sexual. While sex is extremely important in a relationship, I don't think it should be the central thing. I also found that Trey's perception of casual sex grated against me. I would struggle to be with a man who had no problem with "platonic sex" (if that is a word). but those are just personal preferences of mine.

On the flip side, the book is well-written, cohesive, and a very easy ride. And again--if a hot love story is what you want (without chapters of steamy bedroom scenes--thanks to Cheryl Douglas for not putting lots of detail in the intimate scenes), this is definitely the book for you. And with a backdrop of country music, how could you go wrong?

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

Second Chance Romance

The writing itself was very readable, but characters, storyline and dialogue was just frustrating. The characters just weren’t that likeable. They flitted around all over the place with their feelings and some the twists and turns were just so cliche.

As much as I’d like to hate Trey for him sleeping around, he was divorced. Sierra initiated the divorce and she was the one that stepped back into his life after Treys sister asked her to.. As much as it hurt to read and as much as I’d like to really hate on Trey, he was free and single. Sierra was the one that’s engaged to be married. Everyone has choices, I’m not saying Sierra shouldn’t have walked away, but they hadn’t seen each other for five years so even as much as I felt a bit ragey about his ‘conquests’, I can’t hold it against him as he has been free and single for five years.
I do wish that Sierra had been with other people though (why is it always written that way!!).

The most frustrating part was the backwards and forwards with the blame game. I could see both sides, until Trey turned nasty towards the end. They both could’ve made different choices, but Trey turning it around on Sierra left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially as he was the one that had the most issues in the first place and turned his back on her. I understand grief and the nature of the beast, but five years!! He said that Sierra couldn’t fought for him, but he could’ve fought as well, especially when he was the one always walking away. Then the bit with Luc at the end, what a pile of poo. I can’t believe Sierra was made out to be the bad guy…again!!Urghh! I like angst driven romances, but the balance must be there, I was more frustrated than anything.

Shameless is a country song come to life. Sierra is tired of Trey’s drinking, his womanizing, and–when he’s not there to support her after their child dies–she stops “standing by her man.” He is devastated because, in his heart and despite all evidence to the contrary, he really does love her.

Time moves on. He keeps drinking and womanizing–to the extent that his family is worried and maneuvers a reunion. She has moved on–she’e even engaged, even though she doesn’t love her fiance in the way she still loved Trey.

I admit to struggling to admire Trey. He’s a difficult, flawed hero with great potential to be an amazing man. Sierra is a wonderful heroine: determined, smart strong. The plot wasn’t terrifically complex, but the author does a good job keeping the reader interested and invested.

Because this is a romance, after all–the story is predictable. There are highs and lows as Trey and Sierra work their way through the pain and distrust that surround them. The author did a good job of making this reader care about what happened between Trey and Sierra–and I really hoped Trey would do a complete 180 and become the man Sierra wanted him to be. Thankfully, as I said… this is a romance and so we get the necessary HEA.

I’m glad to know this is just the beginning of a series. I look forward to reading the other books in the “Nashvile Nights” series to see if some of the awesome secondary characters get their own happy ever after.

This was an emotional book. Trey Turner country music star marries the woman of his dream Sierra Brooks. This book starts out fives years ago and then moves forward. It starts out with Trey doing body shots off a waitress at a local bar. But this is pretty much the breaking point for Sierra and so she does what she thinks is right and lets him know its over she wants out, she wants a divorce. But its more than the body shots. Its all really sad and tragic what has lead them to this point.

Five years after the divorce Trey is in a bad way. He cant write his music anymore and has an alcohol problem. He knows he messed up, he misses his ex so bad he cant barley breath. What starts out as his sisters way to try and convince him to get help,(having a run in with the ex at the same bar where it all ended), ends up being what is a tough road back to his ex and all that he lost.See Sierra is engaged to another man and had tried to forget Trey and all that she has lost. Trey is on mission to win her back. I enjoyed this book and will read the others as well.

Trey Turner, famous country music singer, is busy touring and drinking when his wife, Sierra, goes into early labor and loses her baby. Their marriage falls apart and Sierra files for divorce.

Fast forward five years, where we see that Trey has managed to once again descend into a downward spiral after witnessing a car accident that takes the life of a little girl who would be the same age as his daughter. He can't seem to recover, has writer's block, and longs for his former wife. Since Sierra has moved on with a successful songwriting career and a new fiance, Trey's sister calls her to help Trey. Unable to turn her back on the man she once loved, even if he did break her heart, she returns. Predictable misunderstandings ensue until they reach their "happily ever after" and all is forgiven. There was really nothing in this cliche of a romance that was enjoyable.

It seems to me that this book was really, really similar to Line of scrimmage, that I personally prefer much more.
I really don't like "Shameless": the plot is non existent and I really hate the hero and the heroine. He is a douche, making mistakes one after another and she is a doormat thinking that all his mistakes are hers! There is no plot, all the story is about complain and repeating the same things!! She was always alone, he was an alcoholic and always on a tour etc etc... I think she repeats the same things to at least five different characters..without even change the words.. BOOOORING!
Fortunately, at least this book was short and above all it was free!

This was a free book so I thought I would give it a try. The prologue was not great and I almost stopped reading but forged on and was glad I did. Love it when I discover a new author (for me)! Enjoyed Sierra and Trey's story and it was especially poignant reading it Mother's Day weekend. The heartache of losing a child causes ramifications that are far-reaching. Cheryl's handling of the situation between them in this story was perfect. Of course I hate when the free book is enjoyed and is part of a series-good thing I got a B&N gift card for Mother's Day to buy the rest of the books in the series!!

Shameless

This story I both loved and hated I really liked the h and was definitely able to connect with on every level the H was ok at times he really was a giant A-Hole like the whole having sex with the h and then having sex with another woman the same night well it doesn't exactly scream "I love my wife"......the story was very well written on such a sensitive subject except at the end where the author put all the blame at the h feet left me feeling confused and thinking WTF!.Also just have to say the secondary characters were awful especially Luc I wanted to nut punch him repeatedly I have rarely hated anyone (real or fictional) as much as I hated this jerk....

Very Emotional Start to the series, starts with a BIG OLE HEARTBREAK and then moves on to years later.

I have to say, I LOVED TREY!! Yeah, they both made mistakes, and they both owned up to them, that is why I liked Trey and Sierra so much.

Lots of Drama, with Baby-Momma's and Ex-Fiances (Eric, what a JERK),and a secondary cast that was fabulous and I can't wait to move on to book two!!

I'll take more of JOSH ANYDAY! I could do without Luc...he was an ASS!!

(I did receive this as a free book on my Kindle.) This was exactly what I needed. A quick romantic read. The story is not all fluff but it was good, not terribly complicated. It is the start of a series. I may have to read other stories. There were certainly other people introduced who could become future couples and I wouldn't mind seeing Trey and Sierra again.

It took a while for me to get into this book. It kept getting pushed aside for other things. I finally finished it because I needed it for a romance book challenge. Anyway, it picked up quite a bit from the middle on. There was a lot of predictable stuff happening, but it all fell into place and made a passable story.
