I have never in goodread history given a book 1 star before but here are my reasons why....

1) They cut off a major character and there was basicaly no grief untill Autumn threw herself at another boy

2) The coversations between her and Samuel made me want to literaly kill myself; they were torture. She hated him one second and then she was saying sorry and begging for forgivness, over and over again.

3)She is so damn ungratefull some people did really small nice things for her and she just litteraly snapped and asked for more. She literally acted like a spoiled brat

4) One moment she's calling herself a silly girl and the other she says she has all the right to do whatever she wants whenever she wants.

5) She does exactly the oposite of what people tell her! how many freaking water fearies have to try to kill her untill she gets through her skull that she really should not go in the water!

6) She aparently "hates" Samuel but eveytime he's with Susan she get incredibly jealous!!! its really sickening

7) She complains about people leaving her out of the loop and when they do she does something drastically stupid. And then she wonders why they leave her out of the loop! Shes obviously a sick phycopath or something!

8) I had the oportunity to read this book on my kindle and they do not specificly say which book is which i actually started to read Autumn before August and had to start all over again! And dont even get be started on thats why i dont like this book because that is Bull.

9) Carly is incredibly anoying! her and Nick, Nick and her its driving me crazy! Any sane boy would have gotten away from her as quickly as possible. Then Carly just goes flirting with any Male her age or older! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? then she goes literally throwing herself at Samuel and Holt its like she dosent even have dignity left.

9) Athough i hate Nick's relationship with Carley. He has a pretty messed up head! HE KEEPS DOING THE EXACT SAME MISTAKE OVER AND OVER AGAIN! I REALLY WANT TO SLAP THE GUY

10) Autumn this whole book was a tottal bummer the author describes her as looking horrible all the time! its like she's a bum or something

I WAS SO DISAPOINTED WHITH THIS BOOK THAT I DONT THINK I WILL EVER READ SOMETHING WRITIN BY THIS AUTHOR EVER AGAIN WITH THE EXEPTION OF THE FOURTH BOOK (IF THERES EVEN ONE). I AM A GIRL OF MY WORD AND I WILL FINISH THIS BOOK SERIES NO MATTER HOW DISAPOINTING IT MIGHT BE.

In Book#2 we saw that Holt & Autumn got themselves into a bit of a mess. Autumn's destiny is still to marry Samuel but she is in love with Holt & Holt loves her. Samuel said he did not want her but I think it was to try to make her feel better about the situation. Now they are in serious trouble with the High Counsel & are waiting to hear their punishments. The Winter Queen shows her even more ugly side & you dislike Mrs. Roth as well.

I felt very sad for Autumn through the whole story. She was a innocent girl with a crush on a boy. That boy could have walked away & let destiny take the path it was meant to. Autumn was blamed for all the chaos & craziness when all she did was exist. Autumn did not plan to have feeling for Holt or Samuel & since it had never happened before in the Fairy World I was feeling that destiny might not be written in ink on this one. Holt did the right thing by saving Autumn's life but they are still in danger & everyone Summer Court & Winter Court both hate Autumn & want her gone. And by gone I mean dead.

Will Samuel stick by her even though she is bond to Holt? Will Holt trust Samuel to watch over Autumn? Will Logan learn to deal with Autumn & accept that Holt loves her no matter what the family says? You will find out all of those answers in this 3rd installment.

WARNING -- This book will make you just as sad, angry & frustrated as the characters. The ending is a surprise twist & not necessarily a good one.

*sigh* I was really holding out hope for this book and it's characters. It was incredibly slow, jumpy and WTH was with the ending?!! I was furious with the turn of events in this book, you can't kill off a major character and not put more grief and emotion into it. I felt cheated. The flow was choppy at best. The dialog lacked and the characters, new and old, didn't connect with me as a reader. Most of the story line felt forced and without a point. Would I recommend this book? As light reading, maybe. For someone who wants to escape and really enjoy their time reading, no.

I could just stop with the series right now

I really wish I could stop with the series right now after that ending. I have spent 3 books wishing Autumn and Samuel would end up together!

Does anyone else picture Mrs. Cheshire like the queen of hearts on Alice in Wonderland? LOL
Maybe it’s the name.

PS - been rooting for Sam ❤️

Now that autumn and Holt are in serious trouble with the high court what are they to do. Autumn finds out that one of them has to die. Holt's brother Logan is acting like the Winter Queen, bad. Can Autumn survive Holt dying or vice versa? Great read

Oh my! Holt and Autumn are so much in trouble! Now that Autumn is in transition of being a fairy, you would think everything is now fine and danydy. That finally, Autumn and and Holt will now have their happy ever after. But with Mrs. Cheshire alive, that will not be possible! In fact, it's just the beginning of another suffering in Holt and Autumn's love story.

I got a bit frustrated in this story. I never had the chance to see Autumn and Holt really together. As in together. It was mentioned that they are almost married since Holt had reserved his one black rose to Autumn, thus making her a fairy. But the problem is, I never saw (or read) them being inlove. It was just implied that they do, but I never had the chance to see them happy together, sweet together and professing their undying love for each other. I'm not asking for cheesy lines but I was looking for something... a proof that they really love each other-- moments when they're together. I don't know if you understand where I'm getting at. But you see, these two have the "you and me against the world" thing but I just can't feel the love that pushes them to fight.

Autumn has been such a selfish person throughout this book. All she could ever think about is that she and Holt should be together. She doesn't care if others are hurting or in grave danger. As long as she's with Holt, she doesn't care about anything else. It's all about her, her and her! Which is really annoying. To think that Holt is suffering and she's almost flirting with Samuel or enjoying herself in a party, it's just so weird. A mother lost his sons, a mother willing to kill the supposed-to-be future queen of his son, a woman who'll do everything for her family are all put behind because of the selfishness of Autumn. There's a bigger picture inside the story but it only focused on how Autumn wanted to be with Holt no matter what.

I really love the story so it hurts to say those words. It has really the potential of being a great story, but somehow the story got misled. With all its flaws, this is such a good story. This book made me cry in the end. Sad that I didn't had the chance to know more about Holt. Irritated on all the missed opportunities that I should know more about him, how great his love for Autumn and what's going on inside his head. Same goes for Samuel. I just wished I grew to know them more before it ended.

I have too much to say. I must bullet it.

- Characters: I like their personalities. Seems realistic but it was missing something. I understand Holt, Samuel, and Autumn have this passion and oh so caring personalities tied to their beings but i couldn't get it from every word that I just read. I liked that Samuel and Autumn had this good ending and Holt stood up for what he believed in since the beginning. Logan, Susan, Nick, Carley, and Gauder could've been something for the entire series or even in this third installment but their appearances didn't satisfy my expectations of them.

- Message: Destiny and Integrity. That was what I loved from beginning to end. Stated clear in a very creative way.

- Writing style: Autumn's POV was actually very interesting. Didn't miss out on anything huge by having that. It's alright. Kind of reminds me of the way how Sophie Kinsella books speak to me. It has some casual tone but in reality it is packed with a lot of stuff.

- comparison to the first two books: in all honesty, I liked the first book better than this but this was better than the second book. Not just because of the ending but because of the depth and how fast everything seemed to go. As a reader, I wasn't overwhelmed like what other books do to me but I was still left with admiration at how creative and special each material an author gives.

I hope there are more to come :)

I would give this book 6 STARS if I could, it deserves nothing less.

Of the three books in the One Black Rose series, this was by far the best. I loved the characters, the plot, and most of all the ending.

It is seldom that you find a series/trilogy with the last book being the best, but here it is! Maddy has surprised me as though I liked the first two books well enough, I hadn't imagined that the ending would be so complete with a conclusive ending which did not disappoint.

Samuel had not always been my favourite. In fact, I had disliked him in ONE BLACK ROSE, because he had been a jerk, though understandably so. However, AUTUMN reveals a side to Samuel that had not been encountered by the reader, which is that though he is a Prince of the Winter Court, his personality is warm. He truly loves Autumn, and I think that this is what, above all, made him my favourite. Instead of being like Holt, who decided to leave Autumn without so much as a note, who had not been cautious with her sensitive nature, Samuel had always been the one in the background who loved her most. He has a realistic character, and that I loved.

Autumn herself has undergone development from a rather flighty girl at the start of the series to one who truly cares for others at the very end. Though she never becomes aware of the bigger picture, she becomes selfless.

Overall, this book has abolutely WOWED me. I'm sure it will linger in my mind for quite some time.

Loved it! The action started from the first page and didn't let go until the very last page. I was so absorbed in this book that I barely came up for air. I devoured it in a half a day.

There was so much more going on in this book than the previous ones. The fairies become an integural part of the story and their real life is revealed.

Again, Susan and Samuel are a great support system in this book. Autumn grows closer to them every day. She was trying to do everything the Supreme Council told her too, but people kept meddling.

I cried so much in this third book. It was gripping. More than ever, I loved the series and wish Autumns story didn't end with this book.

I can't wait to read Susan's story in book four though. This book deserves it's five glittery stars for a mind blowing read. Check the series out ASAP!

I thought this was a great end to the series. Every moment I was on edge, waiting to find out what would happen next. Fans of the rest of the series will definitely want to read this conclusion. Everything is summed up nicely, but I wouldn't mind if there was another one. While I kind of figured out what would happen in the end, I was still heartbroken . However, I did like . This was a great series, with a unique twist on the fairy genre. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Edwards, and am sad to see this series end.

Autumn, the third book in the One Black Rose Series was great. The book was emotional especially when Holt was killed protecting his brother Logan and fighting to keep Autumn safe. Samuel was such a sweetheart throughout this book and the last. He was always fighting for Autumn and what would keep her safe and happy. The one thing I didn't like about the book was how fast Autumn switched from Holt to Samuel after Holt's death. I just think there wasn't enough time in between. Still loved the book though. I hope she continues with Samuel and Autumns story.

I have been waiting and waiting for this book. And I feel like I should have kept waiting, I hold hopes that the next book will be good again, I don't think it deserves 3 stars but not quite 4 but it was still good over all. but I didn't like how the last few chapters went. Didn't like the main characters death, didn't like the quick throw in and out of Traveling fairies. I hold the next book goes somewhere with them all. Heres to holding hope for the next book

This series takes you on an emotional roller coaster. Some parts drag a little and not as much excitement as the first two, until the ending OMG, why oh why would you do that to us. Hope there is a another book. If not that is ok I enjoyed the series, and Maddy Edwards is very talented. Sorry have to give you 4 instead of 5 stars, because of the ending :(

I liked it...I guess. It was just ok though. The story's pacing seemed off and didn't flow like the first two. By the end the whole autumn/holt/sam situation didnt seem believable and I wasn't really happy with the book. And don't even get me started on Carley and her just flat out bitchyness towards nick -.- ugh! So stupid. But this book was ok. But I doubt I would read it ever again.

What an awesome series. Sad and happy. Gutwrenching intensity in suspense and in its character development. I loved both Holt and Samuel...although at times the girls in the series just seemed way too shallow.

I liked the premise for this series, and enjoyed the story overall despite the grammatical errors, and having to seriously suspend my disbelief. I was not to enthusiastic about the ending, and it left me with a dislike for the protagonist.
