I was right. Luke is a smexy b******.

But the book overall was suckish.

It got really angry at me for letting Haley be alone with Luke. But I mean, gosh!! Sure he was feeling her up and stuff, but it's not like she was drunk or high. She was still sane and sober. It's not like it would have gone too far. I figured I'd have a second chance where Haley could say no at the last second. No shame in romancing a little. ;) Although that would have been kinda mean to Luke. He thought he was gonna get some and then she backs out at the last second xD

The book really failed to go into Luke's character. He's not just some bada**. He's a PERSON. In a proper novel they would have felt each other up, she would have gently stopped him, and then slowly she'd convert him to being all good and stuff like she is, but he'd still be a little bada** inside 'cause that's what makes him smexy. x] But noo, the book had to be all realistic and not have the perfect vampire-style-boy-fantasy ending. Pshhhh. Instead it just yelled at me for letting Haley potentially have sex. And her dad burst into the room to stop them! How unrealistic is that?

I also resent Sasha for being so needy. If it wasn't for her problems, maybe Haley could have met Luke under more favorable circumstances! And maybe she would have gotten a little more time with DREW too. Then again, Drew might not be as sexy as he seems. I don't know 'cause Haley didn't get any time with him =P And I REALLY resent Reese. I thought he was smexy at first but really he's just your average perfect Boy-Next-Door style guy. Which is all good and fine, but very boring and not that attractive. I mean, I get that he's hot. That's great. But that's not all that matters. He has to be attractive personality-wise as well. And Reese is a very boring, goodie-goodie two shoes character. Honestly, I think he was invented just to help Sasha out. DARN YOU SASHA AGAIN!!

The book was actually rather preach-y, all about making good decisions and such. I suspect that it was a far more interesting novel before the producers came and said, "We can't produce this! People will call us out for encouraging teenage girls to have sex!" So apparently their answer to the question "What if all the boys wanted you?" is "Nothing, you'll still get stuck with some loser like Reese Highland." Because that's all making good choices ever gets you...

This may sound weird but in a novel I expect more interest. Of course you wouldn't do this stuff in real life. That's why we HAVE novels!! So that girls can make bad decisions and have teenage sex and fourteen-year-old boys can be smexy but stupid spies.

How come the Asian characters in novels always have the cliché Asian last names? Gillian Chang, Irene Chen...

I don't like Mitchell either. Especially now that I know he's in therapy. Freak.

Might re-read just to see if I can get a juicier ending. Get some action with the Drewster. Lol.

This book was not one of my favorites, mainly because it was a choose your own adventure book so you had to make a lot of decisions on your own. I mainly like books where there is already a set ending and it isn't so dependent on you. When I read this book the main character Haley ended up with the boy she had a crush on but it would have been interesting if there was already a set plot because the story kind of went all over the place because of the different paths that I chose. This book yes was very interesting but also was a very easy read, you can read this book multiple times and get a different ending but the book just didn't have what I normally like in books.

I think the idea of being able to choose Haley's path is awesome!! This book is short, predictable (obviously since you're making the choices), and doesn't really go in depth. But it's a nice short read that keeps you really entertained and you can't stop reading it.(: It told me to go back to page 1 twice!! I obviously can't lead Haley's life well. It cracked me up though, because I found that extremely hilarious. :D

Haley may be the luckiest girl at Hillsdale High, even if she doesn't know it. She is the new girl. After moving across the country she has a new haircut and a chance to start over. The only problem is that there are a ton of decisions to make and each one will affect the way her new high school career turns out. Luckily for her, other people get to make them for her! In this "choose your destiny" book, readers get to make important social decisions for Haley. Each decision changes the ending in some way.

There are a variety of characters that remain the same in each version, but the endings are all different. Should Haley take one of her new friends back to California, or will that spell disaster by mixing her old life with the new one that is going so well for her? Sasha, the soccer star, is suddenly acting strange. Should Haley tell her parents or try to investigate it herself? Along the way there are a variety of gorgeous boys of all types to choose from. Haley will end up with a boyfriend, but is one better for her than another?

On the whole, the book seems to move really quickly and moves from one decision to the next; at others the reader may feel like they missed a step, but it is easy to catch up and is likely a result of multiple ways of ending up in the same place. After reading all of the endings, some are a little more satisfying than others. In my first reading, I made decisions for Haley as I would have made them in my life. That ending ended up being my favorite, but will that be the same for every reader? It's all part of the fun of choosing your own path.

No longer are badly connected, completely random choose-your-own-adventure novels only for the fantasy/adventure crowd! Now, even if your primary interests are hairstyles, makeup, and who's making out with whom, you too can choose your own adventure (ahem, I mean "destiny")!

The hubby picked it up for me as a random read at the library, and I was sooo delighted in a "this is such a terrible idea I have to try it!" sort of way. (Kind of like fried candy bars.) And it pretty much lived up to its expectations.

And better yet, it's a part of a series! Be still my beating heart.

(In case you were wondering, I don't recommend that you bother with this series. Unless, of course, you're in the mood for fried candy bars.)

I read Choose Your Destiny novels a bit differently than most people. When I come to a choice, I tear off a small piece of paper and mark the page, so once I make it all the way through I go back and go through each choice until I've completed them all. It does take a little while, but I like to see all of the various combinations and stories I can get! This one was kind of odd, in that each group of people was so drastically different. I find it hard to believe that Haley can conceivably be friends with all of these different people. Overall, I liked the Irene and San Francisco storyline the best because it was nice to bring in old friends while keeping her new ones.

Honestly the only reason I got this book was because my local book store had a sale and I grabbed every single book that was less than $5 and this one was in the pile. Unfortuneatly the book wasnt that great and kind of confusing at times but after finally reading almost 100pages I finally figured out how to read this darn book!

Overall it was okaaaaaay.....interesting enought to keep me going and the fact that I want to read all the books on my shelf that I havent read yet :)

Why I'm interested in this book at the first place
Found this book on one the shelves of a public library in a mall, and so, I borrowed it.

What do I think of this book... now that I've done reading it
A typical school-girl with typical dilemma: boys. My fellow readers who's reading this review - if you've been reading Sweet Valley and the likes growing up; yup, this book is in the same aesthetic.

Haley Miller is the main character and whom should she choose from these lads below?
1. Reese Highland: her neighbor. Also doing honors chemistry and a soccer player.
2. Drew Napolitano: a jock, and fellow classmate in English (class)
3. Johnny Lane: frontman of the band, Heron
4. Luke: Johnny's (cocky) friend
5. Spencer Eton: a SIGMA host (?)
6. Matt Graham: Spencer's former boarding school roommate
7. Sebastian Bodega: the Spanish exchange student
8. Devon: photographer who went to art school in New York

+
Highlights of my favorites:
1. Seems like Italian for dating dinner is a good idea?
2. The characters in this book savoring different types of foods which make me salivating

-
1. If school girl with boy problems is not your cup of tea, this book will suffocate you.

Get this
1. If you live YA subgenre of school drama, this is for you.

The ending had me shocked this time. It was so out of character and sudden. The only negative thing about this book is that some choices "fill in the gaps" by recapping events that the reader did not read about.

I really liked this book. This book was weird to read the many endings. I loved to get to pick what ending I wanted. I recommend this type of book to anyone.

This book had its good points and its terrible ones. It was a "Choose Your Own Destiny" kind of book so at the end of each chapter you had a few choices. The problem was that it often gave you too many choices, and it was really hard to read the entire book and get all the story lines. And, like what happened to me way too much, it seemed as if I picked the wrong choice, because it would talk about characters I hadn't met yet or it crossed with story lines I hadn't read. It was really quite annoying. Some story lines had really nice endings though so it made up for it a little bit... sort of.

I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone, but it wasn't a bad read.

This was the second book from the series that I have read for now the first one i read was What if Everyone Knew your Name. And personally I think the thought of choose your own destiny in a book is so cool, being able to choose Haley's path for me was really fun and awesome!
I also enjoyed reading this book because it was a quick read for me. Depending on how you set up Haley's life it may be extremely fun or extremely boring. For the path I took it turned our extremely fun and some part of the book were even funny.

My actual rating: 2.5 ⭐️

I remember reading this book when I was a kid and really enjoying the pick-your-own-destiny structure. It was unique and different from anything else I had read, and certain passages even stuck with me.

But examining it now as an adult, it’s hard to get invested in a book like this where certain story decisions are flat and most of the characters are two-dimensional. But regardless, it’s still a fairly fun and uncomplicated read, especially if you’re looking for typical high school drama where teens actually act like teens.

I went through about half the options, but each storyline is just kind of too juvenile for me to really get attached to. The characters acts in ways that I wouldn't, or responds to things in ways that I wouldn't, making the "choose your destiny" part less believable. I appreciate the options, which is what initially drew me to this series of books, but I just don't like the writing enough to keep reading them.

When i read it, i thought it was pretty good but it's not my type of book. I thought it was going to be romantic and stuff but it's talking about love triangles and friendship. There were 3 boys that liked her but she finally chose one at the end and they solve the friendship thing where Sasha stole money fromt the school cafeteria but she doesn't know if she should call the cops....

This is a Choose Your Own Destiny Book, and it's awesome. It's like this, you read the first section, and at the end there are choices for different destinies. Choose one and go to that page. You keepp going until you come to an end, or if you make a bad choose, you have to start over. I can't wait to read the other books in this series.

I read the first 2/3 books in this series and enjoyed them at the time, but on a very surface level. I could read one in maybe an hour (because let's be honest, you're actually reading less than 100 pages of the book) and then I was finished and had moved on. While it was fun to choose what happened in the book, none of the options were that great. Everything was just pretty boring and bland.

This book was alright. It is pretty fun to choose what the main character does and see what happens, but the book itself isn't very good. There isn't much of a plot and things can sometimes get confusing because of all the page turning.

What a werid book. Its as if there are a bunch of mini stories in there. There is no time to get to know the charaters and it seems like as if it really doesnt matter. The most you will really read is about 50 pages

I love this book so far... its one of those that have you choose the path but its like a drama about how you decide what click you want the main character, Haley, to fall into and who will be her boyfreind.

Miraculously I got her with the guy I wanted! This never happens, I usually get stuck with option b or someone totally random. And I went back and took the other path and still ended up with the same guy.

And this is how I learned I hated choose your own adventure style books.

This was yet another I read in high school. My mom got it for me at like a discount shop or something so it was just for funsies. But yeah, did not like at all.
