The Savior
Something is happening in Cincinnati, Ohio. Some teenagers are being killed and others are committing suicide while taking a new drug called Zeffeen.
Seventeen-year-old twins, Violet and Lily, are friends with their neighbor, Amy. When Amy kills her mother and commits suicide, Zeffeen is found in her bloodstream too.
Lily becomes friends with Marnie, a girl who's considered an outsider in their school. Marnie invites Lily to join a philosophical club and Lily goes to the first meeting without her sister. It's the first time in their lives they have done anything separately.
In another part of the city, in an old house in the woods, Orson cries because he can no longer hear the voice of God. His older brother, Dennis, who is a detective in the Special Cases Department, had created a sect for troubled teenage girls when he discovered Orson's “talent”. Dennis convinces his brother he should continue with the group. He has implemented strict rules, one of which prohibited anyone over the age of seventeen to join them. Dennis has big plans for his group. Plans that will shake not only Cincinnati, but the entire nation.

Natasha A. Salnikova has written a captivating thriller in The Savior. The novel kept me reading. Ms. Salnikova is a gifted storyteller. She captures the hopelessness and innocence of teenage existence and the influence authority figures can provide.
The writing of a novel of this complexity is a bona fide accomplishment. The interplay between the twin primary characters and their family developed well and seemed natural. The voices of the teenagers felt authentic.
With that said, it's a push to give this novel a three star rating. It needed more work before publication. The book could have easily been cut by 5,000 to 10,000 words without any harm to the story or character development. Too much of the story, I thought, occurred off camera. Scenes of character motivation and means of action were limited.
The author has skill and determination. As she writes more, her technique will certainly improve. Watch for it coming.

The Savior by Natasha Salnikova is a chilling psychological thriller about a group of girls that are lured into a demonic group by a man named Dennis. He uses his brother's special "talent" for talking to God to manipulate the girls in very disturbing ways.
When I first started reading the book, I was immediately drawn into the world the author created. The characters were perfectly developed and I loved the twin girls, Violet and Lily. The storyline starts off very dark with a murder/suicide and only gets darker from there when Lily is invited into the group. There were many times where the plot had an unexpected twist, which always makes for a good read.
While I would love to give The Savior five stars, there was a good 75 pages where I felt like I was reading the same thing, just in different ways. There were so many interesting details in the first half of the book that when I hit this dry spot, I was very disappointed. There was an added love story in this part that I personally didn't think fit, but others would probably love.
The author did come back with more excitement in the last quarter of the book and it had a phenomenal ending. I don't know if there will be a sequel to The Savior, but I'm certainly hoping so.
I would recommend this book for adults who love a good thriller. Natasha Salnikova has become one of my new favorite indie authors and I hope you give this book a chance.

Oh, dear. It seems, it`s really dangerous to live in small towns in America. Like there`s a law or something, that all psychos and maniacs should spent at least couple of years in some Littlevill.
Anyway, this book is really scary, `cause it fits to our everyday reality. Like there was a movie "Untraceable" with Diane Lane where some smart-ass maniac killed people with a help of internet. The more people watch, the faster is victims death. I guess we live in time when people gets more and more violent and cruel and children are no exeption. So, there`s smal town, good neibourghs, solid families, all clean and tidy, but there`s a big and creepy problem grows in nearby woods. And two sisters become enemies and parents can no longer be sure if they are safe in their children company.
The religion and faith can be very dangerous in the hands of violent man, that only wants to have power over as many people as possible. And it`s so scary to stand against it when you don`t know for sure where to find some important answers and help.
This book explores a very dark sides of human nature and show us that we don`t fully understand ourself and what we`re capable of untill something just blows our world apart. We think we know what to wait from our parents, sisters, brothers, but somewhere deep inside our hearts, there`s this little mean us that can ruin this perfect picture and all hell breaks loose.

Very intense spin on issues of today. Great book! Kind of wakes you up to the harsh reality of what some people are capable of.

this has been a really good series. in this one we find out this leader's of the MC are actually specially recruited FBI agents. surprise! then there's the love story..Sigh.
