Clara's mother tells the story of how, as a young girl, she hid the key into winter, in an attempt to stop the seasons from changing and thus save her dying grandmother.
I really liked this story! The watercolor illustrations were lovely, I loved the idea of magic keys used to change the seasons, and it had an important lesson about accepting change.
This is a touching story about the passing of time and accepting all of the changes that come with it. Recommended for children who are already reading on their own, or else very patient children who can listen to longer stories. There are a lot of words on each page for a picture book, so the younger ones or those who need a lot of action in their stories might lose interest.
