4 delightful tail stars

Don't let the size of this tail fool you, because while it may be small it's still delivers a unique story that entices your thoughts and desires. The Manhattan Mermaids are just one of the many temptations that the notorious Kingsley Edge offer, they are to be believed the most beautiful virginal women, taunting the wealthy and powerful men of New York. They're unimpressed with wealth and powerful making them even more coveted.

Immersed in Pleasure is the story of Derek Prince and the sensual unattainable Xenia. He is not the most powerful, he is not the wealthiest, but he has something that the others don't, he has what it takes to make her smile....but is it enough to give up her lifestyle for??? Sweet & Sexy, a story told in Ms. Reisz style, you should read it if your a fan of Kingsley's world.

How much do I love immersing myself back into Tiffany Resiz’s delightfully deviant world that simmers gently, secretly beneath the hustle and bustle of New York.

This is the story of that wicked Frenchman Kingsley Edge’s club Fathoms – a club where incredibly beautiful women swim around naked on display for the very privileged clientele. Oh, and one of the conditions for their job is that they are all virgins. Once they lose their virginity, they must hand in their mermaid pendant and leave – hymen checks obligatory.

Xenia is the mermaid at the centre of the tale and she’s been a mermaid longer than most, reluctant to step out and enter the real world. She meets Derek one night at the club and he is completely captivated by her and she with him but she’s not ready to give up her mermaid status just yet. They have a highly sensual romance without actually having sex and they fall in love.

Kinky Kingsley doesn’t disappoint either with a delicious scene with another mermaid.

I love Tiffany’s writing – it’s so atmospheric. Every time I open one of her stories I’m immediately transported into her world and reality just disappears for me and her characters never behave quite as you expect them to and you really wouldn’t want them to.

4 stars strangely eerie little piece of erotica

It’s from The Little Mermaid, the fairy tale. It’s what a mermaid feels when she becomes a human woman. Great pain. Derek, I’m ready to be a human.”

The Manhattan Mermaids. Believed to be the most beautiful women in the city, they entertained the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world.

Another short, 50 or so page story about the crazy haps that go on in Kingsley’s underground.

This is the story of the Manhattan Mermaids. It is told by Derek as he sits in one of Kingsley’s clubs talking to his friends.

“Don’t care. Skip to the good parts.”
“Every second with Xenia was a good part,” Derek said, feeling the truth of the statement in his heart. Every moment he spent with her he felt awake, alive, not just like Derek Prince but Derek Princely.
“Yo, Prince Derek. Get back to the story.”
“Fine, fine.”

Being a mermaid is a coveted position and the only rule once you become one is that you must stay a virgin while you work there. So when Derek meets Xenia and the attraction between them is unlike anything either of them has ever encountered, things gets complicated.

I really enjoyed this story; I loved Derek and how intense he feels for Xenia. Their connection and interactions were quirky and endearing, just like she was.

Although this story doesn’t serve a big purpose, I always love being thrust into this kinky world of The Original Sinners!

“You’re a fool, monsieur,” Kingsley warned Derek. “So many beautiful girls in the city who would willingly dive into your bed. And you give that up.”

“I don’t want a girl. I want a mermaid.”

This was the last of the connected TOS story I had left to read. And although we only get a glimpse or two of Kingsley – I really loved the idea of this story. That man, he has the best ideas for debauchery!

This was a quick short by the queen of kink, Tiffany Reisz that ties in an exclusive underground club – not one meant for sex – but for something so elusive that the wealthiest can’t even get their hands on it. Purity. The most beautiful woman, untouched. Within reach, but unobtainable.

For fans, this is a must read – I think even new readers would get a great feel for the way this author writes and would instantly be wanting to get their hands on more.

This book was baaaaaad. Not in the obvious sense but the creepy factor was off the charts. It was like an amalgamation of The Little Mermaid and Anne Rice's The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty but less rapey. But that's not saying much. @_@

Immersed in Pleasure was disturbing.
This is a story about young girls who sit around naked flirting with rich, midlle aged man, all the while pretending what they do is better than what strippers do.
Derek really is a "prince". He lusts after an innocent 21 years old girl just because she is a virgin who doesn't have the emotional baggage of ex boyfriends like the rest of the women, who are clearly unworthy of his love.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
In Kingsley's world a girl is considered innocent even though she spends her nights naked, chatting rich men for money, even if she lets a man she only knows for a week get to second and third base with her when she is supposed to be a virgin. Because clearly her virginity makes her better than a prostitute who does, more or less, the same for money.
By the way, it's not offensive at all to say that women who are no longer virgins have too much baggage, because clearly, if you are a man, you can have as much baggage (meaning ex girlfriends in this case)as you want, but women must remain innocent if they want the love and attention of a succesful man.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Kingsley acted like a cheap pimp, sampling the "merchandise", testing the girls (gynecological tests) and letting Derek "try" Xenia before making a commitment to wait for her. Classy business. Not at all like a strip club with swimming pools instead of pool dance.
Everytime I read about Soren I couldn't help thinking about those priests who sexually abuse minors. So, Soren met at church a poor girl with a big family at home and, instead of trying to help her parents, he convinced the teenage girl to work for his pimp of a friend. Nice. That's not at all like using your job as a priest to lure innocent girls(who live in poverty) into sexual slavery. Soren, I hope you're going straight to hell.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
In Ancient Rome, women convicted of prostitution were forced to wear a toga muliebris, as the prostitute's badge of shame.
In colonial New England during the 17th and 18th centuries, courts required people convicted of sexual immorality to wear the letter "A" on their clothing.
Sexual immorality in colonial New England was also punished by human branding with a hot iron, by having the marks burned into the skin of the face or forehead for all to see.
Kingsley's girls wear a special silver tatoo and sell their virginity to the highest bidder. So, women degradation didn't stop hundreds of years ago.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Who the hell ties a girl before taking her virginity? Who lets other people lurk in the shadows and watch while he takes a girl's virginity? A creep like Kingsley does.
I can't understand why would a girl want to lose her virginity with a guy twice her age, for money, when she can choose to have a romantic moment with the man she loves or at least with a boy her own age.

Although set in the same world as Reisz's other work, this is more overtly romantic than the other stories I've read by her. Derek Prince falls in love with Xenia, a professional "mermaid" on display at an incredibly exclusive club; part of her employment contract is that she must retain her virginity. Since Derek is a prince of a guy, it all works out okay. Based a little bit on Anderson's "the Little Mermaid" but far more on the movie of the same title, this is sweet, wonky, and more than a little creepy. Deflowering scenes (yes, plural) with massive amounts of pain and blood in a contemporary erotic story... seriously? If there were more of the feel of the original story and less of the movie, it might thematically fit better.

I did enjoy the narrative, which is framed as Derek telling the story of his meeting with Xenia to two of his employees. This allowed for some funny commentary and kibbitzing. And the story feels well paced and complete, despite being very short and the fact that many of the sex scenes aren't even between the two leads.

This was a quick read, but I did enjoy a spicy story told from a man’s perspective. A book with the right amount of steam to make it a sexy getaway.

Personally I wanted to know more about Kingsley in particular. The man is so enigmatic! I find him more interesting than Derek.
I would have like a little bit more development between Xenia and Derek!

Overall I'd recommend it!

The Little Mermaid, revisited

The tail of a fish story is Reisz's mermaid story of Derek and his mermaid. All the classic erotic sensuality she brings to her Original Sinners can be found in this short story of virginal mermaids who work at Fathoms, a Kingsley Edge club. Definitely spicy, definitely fun reading.

Rating: B+ ... Heat: Sizzling

Xenia is a Mermaid. A Manhattan Mermaid—not quite the mythical creature with fins instead of feet, but no less a fantasy and completely unattainable. So when Derek Prince happens upon her while drinking at a club, he is awestruck by the woman with wet hair sitting at Kingsley Edge’s private table. And she seems to be equally captivated by him.

Once Derek follows Xenia through the club’s door marked Employee’s Only, and enters the hidden club of Fathoms where the Mermaids reside, there is no going back.

Having read Miz Reisz's other novellas, Seven Day Loan and Submit to Desire, previous to this one—I have to say, it is almost tame by comparison. It also has a more fanciful edge to it, a touch of whimsy, where her other work is unflinchingly real and unapologetically dark. Which is not to say this is light and fluffy by any means. It still has tons of the wonderful kink Mis Reisz is known for, just without any of the bdsm elements.

And I really enjoyed the way it was told as well. Derek is telling the story of himself and Xenia to two of his friends—no holds barred—and their commentary as he’s telling his tale was fantastic. It added another layer to the novella and more than few laughs.

But most of all I enjoyed Derek and Xenia. They made quite a splash together (wink) and I now hold a fondness for silvery tattoos and massage oils.

So, if you'd like to read a steamy and sensual tale that puts a salacious spin on mermaids—Immersed in Pleasure is definitely worth your while! And, for fans of her Original Sinners series, there is more than one scene featuring the King of Kink himself – Monsieur Kingsley Edge.

Favorite Quote:
“Doesn’t matter,” he said, meaning every word. “When you’re ready, we’ll go for it. Until then, I’ll just take a lot of cold showers. Starting right now. This water is fucking freezing.”
“Keeps the nipples hard," she said, grinning.

OH MY GOD
4.5

I have seen the name "Tiffany Reisz" so many times since I signed up on GR...
Especially "The Original Sinners series" I have read nothing but excelent reviews.
Naturally, I got curiosity but now I'M SCARED literally because when a lot of people talk SO POSITIVELY about something I get excited and then I have HIGH expectations and usually when I have high expectations, I just end disappointed...

Even though, I thought "50 pages? bahh"
I ended like
What the fuck was that?? THAT WAS SO GREAT!!

The way he told the story was the best ever!

It was unexpectedly funny

Sometimes I was like this

and this

I really got surprised by this marvellous short story :)

PS: I still can't read The Siren because I want the excitement leave my body first. God, that doesn't make sense.

O.K. It's like The Little Mermaid meeting Sleeping Beauty. The mermaid meets Prince Charming. But she can't have sex with him since she is a Mermaid. lolll

It doesn't mean that there is no sex scenes in this novella. There is one with Kingsley (the King of other books by the same author) who takes one mermaid's virginity in a ritual fashion. But when you are a mermaid, having sex with a man transforms you in an "ordinary" woman; you're not a mermaid anymore.

Anyway, except for the sex scene with Kingsley, there was nothing original or very exciting.

The author knows how to use a pen or a keyboard, that's why I give this story 2 stars. But I'm sure I'll forget it fast.

I enjoyed this little short story by Tiffany Reisz. I didn't know why it was part of the Original Sinner series. It really has nothing to do with them besides being held in one of Kingsley's night clubs and Kingsley makes a couple appearances. It could have been it's own stand alone short story.

Derek tells his friends about this amazing woman he met at a club. He told them she was a mermaid. He goes into details of their first encounter and how he wanted to do nothing but to get to know her. Xenia is a 'mermaid.' She works for Kingsley in one of his clubs and basically swims around naked and has scales tattooed all over her feet, legs and hips. They are virgins. They swim around to amuse the men at the club. If they lose their virginity, they lose their mermaid title.

I would recommend this short story. It's sweet.

I was hesitant to read this because I didn’t think it would really interest me, but of course, I’m an absolute idiot. Tiffany Reisz has the power to pack so much into such short stories, and they leave you both completely satisfied with how it ended, but also constantly wanting more.

As usual I love all things Tiffany Reisz. All things that have anything to do with Nora, Soren & Kingsley. This being a mythically erotic story from the world of Kingsley Edge. God does this French man have a wonderful life. Even without Soren Or Nora in the story, the mere mention of the priest had my attention. Kingsley & now mermaids, wow what a wonderful concept.

The erotic scene of Kingsley being the one to take one of his virginal mermaids innocence was so hot. There is something about this bisexual sexy French man that we know is ultimately in love with Soren, but is able to create & set the scene for such sexy & intimate love making, wow.

Tiffany you have a gift, not only with this group of characters but with the stories you have come up with. Whether there is any truth to the scenes set that you have taken from real life or just your imagination being that you can create something so real. I am in awe. I love all things from this world & in my next life I want to live in this world.

Derek Prince, a lawyer falling in love with Xenia a mermaid, wow is the thing. Having lived & had what he had in his life, this story is beautiful. The thought of virgins at their age is not heard of but not uncommon. I actually have friends that are still pure & proud of it. I love Mark & Christian, Derek's friends. Their commentary while he is telling his story, recounting all the details of his meeting this mythical creature.

As a lover of romance & paranormal, loved the mix of both. Stories such as this are my ultimate pleasure, Brilliant.

Well, so short, so sweet, so much fun and so very hot!

Derek Prince meets two of his friends in a bar and decides to tell them about his encounter with the mermaid, Xenia. Derek first meets Xenia at the same bar and after some initial uneventful moments, Derek sees that she is different and tries to follow her. But the man who accompanied her, stops him, and says that she works for him and if he wishes to see, he can meet her at Fathoms, a very exclusive club. So, Derek goes there and finds out that she is a virgin mermaid and there are so many other similar mermaids in that club.

Derek falls for Xenia, slow and steady. But, for Xenia, to choose Derek over Fathoms, will not only mean losing virginity, but also to lose her status as a mermaid and such luxurious life at Fathoms.

This is a short story from Harlequin where the author makes it straight to the point. No sidetracking from the main plot and no unnecessary entertaining business. They start clean and clear, and end sweet and satisfactory.

Another success novel from Harlequin!

A HOT rendition of The Little Mermaid!

I read The Siren By Tiffany Reisz several weeks ago, and have since devoured anything by her I could get my hands on.

Kingsley Edge owns an assortment of “Underground Clubs” and one of which is the Fathoms in Manhattan. This is where there are rumored to be some of the most beautiful women in the city, but they aren’t just women, they are Kingsley’s Mermaids. These mermaids entertain the most elite and powerful, and they are unattainable virgins. Most don’t believe they exist including Derek Prince until finds himself face to face with one of them. As soon as Derek meets the very beautiful Xenia, he is completely lost to any other woman. Derek and Xenia have an instant attraction, but Xenia must choose wisely because she can only remain a mermaid as long as she remains a virgin.

The only real common denominator between this story and The Original Sinners is Kingsley. That being said, I still think readers would enjoy this more after reading The Siren and being more familiar with Kingsley. The story was very sweet, and very spicy! Miss Reisz has become one of my favorite authors, and I look forward to more from her.

At Fathoms in Manhattan, the city’s most beautiful women are employed and given the mysterious titles of mermaids. The women are tattooed with special metallic ink, wear special mermaid pendants, and are all virgins. Getting into Fathoms is next to impossible, so when Derek Prince finds himself in the elite club, he’s not only intrigued by the secret underground club, but the beautiful Xenia as well. Soon Derek finds himself unable to resist Xenia and struggles to keep his hands to himself. If a “mermaid” is no longer a virgin, she can no longer work at Fathoms.

This was a fair erotic read. I am a huge fan of the Harlequin Spice line and have frequently enjoyed the Spice Briefs as well.
I, like other readers, was expecting the book to be about real mermaids, in fact, that was one of the main things that attracted me to requesting the title. The description was a bit deceiving….
Overall, the story was enjoyable with plenty of steamy moments and a satisfying HEA. Overall, a solid three stars.

Sweet and short story. Didn't much connect with the female, Xenia, but quite well with the male protag, Derek. Sorry to see some stereotyping in Derek's friends' reactions to their lovestory, as always, and most of all sorry that he didn't bite their heads off. THAT would have made this a five star affair. Instead he hid the whole love story from them until the end. Sad, that. Lots of showing with hardly any telling at all. Except for what Derek does when he sits talking to his friends.

Personally, I'd be pissed off at a boyfriend who tells his friends that much about us, intimately. But then again, I'm never there, am I, when they talk? LOL

As usual, Ms Reisz's English usage is brilliant, her words build immaculate sentences, which flow into colorful paragraphs, which chain each other into entire pages and suddenly the whole story is over. Already? Yeah!

A solid read. Good fun.
