OK, I read the whole book. It was cute but thinly plotted. It is an easy read and quick entertainment for a cold rainy day.

This was a very enjoyable story. This focused on the man trapped in the Evil Queen from Snow White's mirror. He is a Mage Prince cursed to be the Mirror Slave when he spurns her advances. Centuries go by and it is one cruel master after another until he meets his new mistress, Neve. She is not like the rest. She isn't cruel and she has been painfully used just like him. Neither are quick to trust, but she doesn't do what is expected of her and when she can't go through with allowing him to pleasure her because of her abusive past she runs away. He uses his magic to see into her past and life and come to realize why she is skittish.
When she returns and finds out he has spied on her she has one of her panic attacks. Adrian coaxes her into his mirror room and comforts her. They end up comforting each other and her desire to pleasure him finally brings the remaining barriers down. She learns how to free him from his prison and when his original evil mistress makes a surprise appearance he fears all is lost. Neve comes to his rescue and sets him free condemning them both to living apart forever in their separate worlds. Or at least until another famous witch comes to the couples aid. I loved this story. It was like 60 pages long and I wasn't disappointed in how the story unfolded. It was super sweet. Super romantic. And perfect.

In this short paranormal read, Kendra Leigh Castle adds a twist on the Snow White fairy tale.

Neve is still dealing with the trauma of having her stalker almost kill her. He's in jail, but that doesn't make the fear go away.

A mysterious shopkeeper gives her a mirror that Neve "needs." Neve isn't convinced, and once it's in her room, the man in the mirror freaks her out.

Adrian was cursed into a mirror, but also cursed to obey his mistress' commands. He's surprised and incredulous that not only is Neve not a cruel and malicious woman, she doesn't want the charms he has to offer.

Once he realizes that she may be the only woman who has never wanted anything from him, he also realizes that she's the only woman he's ever wanted to please.

Will he be able to win her over? Will she ever trust again? And will both of their pasts come back to haunt them?

Story/Plot: ⭐️ ⭐️
Character Development: ⭐️
World Building: ⭐️
Writing Style/Tone: ⭐️
Spice: 🌶️

A simple story, a very short read which isn’t always bad. I found multiple typos and mistakes - I wonder if there was an editor at all. It definitely ruined the vibe.

Neve wanders into Morgan Le Fay’s shop of curiosities and is given a mirror containing a man who will follow your every instruction - Adrian. He was a mage trapped by a witch to do her bidding. The only way to release him is for someone to fall in love with him.

Neve has a stalker-ex and trauma. She is healed by Adrian and falls in love. The witch who trapped him arrives to claim him again, but Neve releases him. Morgan retrieves Adrian from his world and saves Neve from her ex. They live happily ever after.

Nice concept, poor execution. No character building, no world building, not even the spice was something to give points to. Overall wouldn’t recommend.

Setting: shop ‘Wicked Little Things’; magic mirror’s rooms including sumptuous bedroom; Neve’s apartment

Theme: redemption; unselfish love

Characters:
Neve Logan: Neve = snow – she is dark haired, fair skin, ruby lips; life destroyed by a man she dated a few times who then became obsessed with her, stalking her, telling lies about her, destroying her reputation; withdrawn; scared; working on finding strength and peace;

Evil Jamie: the man who destroyed Neve’s life; now in jail

Morgan le Fay: runs the ‘Wicked Little Things’ shop as penance as decreed by Merlin; sees Neve’s heart and gifts her the magic mirror/slave – to save them both;

Adrian Dulac: aka Mirror Slave aka Slave; once mage prince of Alingarde; for a millennium trapped by an evil sorceress in the mirror to serve whom the mirror belongs to, and sleeping between owners; masters have used him for bad – spying, murder, sex, etc.; discouraged, doesn’t see an end;

Evil Melisande: “tried to use his body to destroy his soul”; Snow White’s evil stepmother hmmmm; because the prince did not kowtow to her, she punished him for all eternity.

Summary:
Neve is gifted the mirror when she wanders into Morgana’s shop; when the mirror speaks to her, she sleeps in the other room; then she decides not to let the mirror intimidate her – she is tired of being intimidated and she confronts it and meets the prince; she is horrified that he sees himself as a slave; they become friends, and then lovers – as she enters his mirror at night; he finds a gentleness he has not known for centuries – she finds passion and freedom in his arms; Melisande send Jeremy to her, and Adrian defends her, then Melisande confronts him, and Neve sacrifices her happiness by professing her love for him, knowing that it would free him but send him back in time to when he was first imprisoned… but Morgana has been keeping tabs, and brings him back to Neve, and he destroys Melisande once and for all… and Morgana has made a small indent in her debt to Merlin, and Neve and Adrian live … happily… ever… after.

3.5 stars - I liked the short and steamy Reflected Desire with its hint of Snow White. Mage Adrian who was trapped in the mirror and bound to obey the mirror's owner - and forced to fulfill his original captors' twisted desires - and the victimized 'fairest of them all', Neve, who becomes his 'mistress' are both wounded, so I believed that they could 'connect' and heal each other.

The shop filled with magical object where Neve finds the mirror and its matchmaking witchy proprietress Morgan LeFay look to provide a framework for more of these steamy little paranormal romances and I liked this one enough - and I am a fan of some of Castle's longer stories - so I'll be keeping an eye out for more Wicked Little Things.

Reflected Desire is an erotic, modern twist on the Snow White fairy tale, blending in touches of Arthurian legend and other stories. I really enjoyed this one and found myself smiling the whole time while reading it -- it's sexy, witty, and has real heart and some well-rounded characters I'm not used to seeing in a short novella. While the action resolved a little quickly for me, I bought the love story completely. This is my first of Kendra Leigh Castle's books and I look forward to reading more.

This book addresses a key romantic archetype -- that of a hero and heroine who heal each other's past traumas. In this story, the mythological element (a mirror slave) matches well with the heroine's dilemma (getting over being stalked). The romance is heartfelt, sincere, and believable, and the sex scenes more creative than I often see in mainstream titles. One too many coincidences as the story winds up prevented me from giving the story five stars, but I heartily enjoyed it and would absolutely read more by Kendra Leigh Castle.

Interesting twist on Snow White. Very short, wish it was longer so more of the character issues could be explored. Both Adrian and Neve were dealing with some heavy issues. Neve was trying to get over a rape attempt from her stalker and Adrian was trying to deal with being a broken mirror slave.

A cute, steamy story about the man in the mirror from Snow White and a woman with a haunted past. It was a wonderful, surprising read about two people who face their demons and find healing in each other's arms. A good read that can be finished in one evening. Recommend!

An interesting premise, but difficult to get into the full world due to the length of the novella. Some nice moments of heat between h/H.
