Lambs

Rate this book
Plagued by a trio of murderous ghosts, Arthur has bigger problems than your average teenager. Young love, wild hormones, and The System haunt him, but those phantoms are nothing compared to the concern he has when watching the darkened corners and deep shadows around him. These spaces are now consumed by a spectral evil seemingly hell-bent on destroying everyone he loves.

As the bodies pile up, Arthur distances himself from his roommate, Connor, a pyromaniac crack-baby with destructive tendencies, and his girlfriend, Melanie, an all-American Satanist with a hidden agenda. He embarks upon a grisly odyssey of self-discovery in hopes of burying the past, cleansing his soul, and obliterating the blood-thirsty spirits once and for all.

I have to say that I really liked this book. So far this has been the scariest book I've read in 2012. Yeah...I actually found myself avoiding it at night because I was scared of the nightmares it might cause. Lambs is the story of three very fucked-up teens.

1. Arthur - cursed by killer ghosts and phantom wounds
2. Conner - spastic crack baby and pyromaniac
3. Melanie - born in a Satanist family and secretly preparing Arthur as her 1st human sacrifice

These three teen's stories are so expertly interwoven in such a manner that I can only describe the story as cohesive but extremely unexpected at the same time. The ending is abrupt, jarring and sudden but it makes perfect since when you give it some consideration.

Lambs trys to mix social satire and horror and I must admit...it works here. The story revolves around 3 teens...each kid has his or her demons to deal with. You have one boy who must deal with visions of bloodshed and then the resulting deaths that occur every few years. The other teen likes fire...likes it alot and he wants to burn his world up and everyone in it. The last teen ...my favorite chartacter in this book...is a girl who seems to have a very normal life and she really loves her boyfriend...loves him so much that she wants to sacrifice her boy friend to the devil, the boyfriend is the kid with the visions. This book is at times very dark and very funny...but it has its share of horror and bloodshed to balance the humor. It is well written and it kept me interested all the way to the end. This is the review of the kindle version of the book.

LAMBS has an intense crackling pace, sweet & heartbreaking characters, and a completely unique storyline. The ending is dramatically exquisite. It's about a satanic cult, murderous ghosts, growing up, and young love <3
