So a BDSM Steampunk Novel?

It has BDSM, all right, most of it off camera and the part that is was a little bit different than one might expect but it was definitely there.

It has Steampunk - lots of 19th Century Mechanical Devices of a very creative design. In fact, I thought that part was very well done.

Liza matched the title perfectly - she was a captive, not a victim. What she went through was pretty awful but she didn't let break her. Brace was just the kind of guy she needed - who used brains rather than brawn.

I really thought this made a great short story but would have been better a novel. I am hoping there is a sequel - the story is complete but there is a lot of potential for more.

Brace Howell only meant to spend his evening gambling with friends at the gentlemen's club until the portrait of a woman with a clockwork collar captures his attention so completely that he just has to have her.

Celeste has been a sex slave at the gentlemen's club ever since her father used her to pay off his debts. A clockwork device pierced into her skin not only keeps time with her customers but also ensures she can never escape without being found. When her latest customer shows up, she recognizes in him her childhood friend, but he once knew her as Liza Flaherty. Though he doesn't recognize her, he feels a connection to her that he can't explain. He notices the scars she's collected from her harsh lifestyle and vows to give her only pleasure, to replace the bad memories. Once she confides her real identity to him, he forms a plan to break her out of her prison and run away with her.

This erotic novella had a great steampunk feel to it. While I'm not sure if his rescue method was actually possible, it made the great escape a little more exciting. It amused me that Brace's inventor pal invented the vibrator and the vibrating bed. This was short and sweet, but I liked the tenderness in the love scenes.

Now this is a cute short steampunk piece. It has a happily ever after because the story ended in the right place. The clockwork collar in this story was clever and I liked how it was applied. The story was to the point with no frivolous tangents. Both Celeste and Brace were cute if naive. Jonathan, now he's the one I'd like to read more about. He does create such lovely divine sex toys.

Suspend your belief on how Brace and Celeste can get away and this story will work great for you. I recommend it erotic readers who enjoy steampunk.

This was a delightful surprise. The story was erotic, engaging and well written. The author used the steampunk era to good effect. Best of all it was a believable romance with strong characters. A lot of story packed into novella length.

I was glad to see that they found each other. It was a little different. I know that I wouldn't want that timer around my neck and I know that it really had to hurt.

Decent steampunk erotica. I would have liked less focus on lust=HEA and more emotion, but considering the length it was okay. Definitely better than the cover led me to believe.

I gave it 4 because it was different - not resembling any other story I have read before. I'd even go as far as 4.5

An interesting short read indeed. First time I've across a Steampunk/erotic story where the devices created are meant for BDSM type scenes and carnal pleasure.
