I am Aleta aka DivaHotPen and I write books. My Debut is ZipCodez A Watts and Compton Tale; it's a gangster love story. My Bestselling series is Salty A Ghetto Soap Opera 1-4 and Why Me? A Novella and its sequel Why HER? I am a mother, a wife, and friend, a diva who get great pleasure in inspiring other women! I love The Lord and trust that all that I've been through prepared me for a time like this ( A Great One....) I Refuse to complain about anything.... I refuse to live life mad and trying to make others miserable....I refuse to live life with regret and sorrow ( I will not) God said I shall live life with Joy and not worry or regret because it will not change a thing. Take it all to him in prayer and it shall workout in my favor.
After reading book I ZipCodez, I knew I had to grab this one and I am glad I did. This was another fast paced, drama filled read that will keep you turning the pages especially if you like the gritty street tales. The author did a good job continuing the story of Debo and Lana, and the supporting characters. She also did a good job telling the story through each of the characters eyes to bring it all together. There was a lesson to be learned through all of the characters. The author showed us how the streets can be dirty and the message taken from it is don’t put all your trust into anyone, even those close to you.
Lana was my fav in the book, I couldn’t help but feel for her with all that she had been through and continued to go through once she decided to go back to her home. The drama continued as she was confronted with her past hitting her from all sides…yeah, you have to read it.
RJ was the character I disliked the most because he had a motive and it wasn’t good.
Overall this was a very good read, full of lies, sex, violence and drama of the streets. There is even a cliffhanger at the end, which has me ready to read the next in this series.
This was a little better than Codez and My story. However,I did not like the way it ended, It left the reader with alot of questions such as Did Pint take another bullet for Keysha or did he recrued her from getting raped by Stone. I admire the Arthur for venturing out and telling her story, however, a simple English course will help in knowing which spelling will go in the sentence, for e.g. there/their, saw/sew, threw/thru,butt/but and too/to. The three stars are for the content of the story, many parts were left unfinished such as when RJ shot Lana and left her for dead and she was recrued, did she survive? What happened to the baby? Did she ever get a chance to tell Debo her daughter was his baby? What did Keysha do when she found out Lana had Debo's baby. What happened to RJ, once he was arrested for attempted murder. Did Debo ever find out who killed his daddy? As you could see, the story is incomplete. I supported this Arthur and read all of her books, I know she has the potential of becoming a great urban writer if she takes the necessary steps to improve on her craft.
