ספרנית זקנה, ניצולי שואה הקמים מן המתים, זונה מן המאה ה-18, מו"ל חלקלק, ניסיון התאבדות, דו-קרב, לאה גולדברג וקנאה יוקדת מאכלסים את סוסי הדיו ואת סיפורו של אדם, נער צעיר ויתום היוצא, כמעט בעל כורחו, למסע של גילוי עצמי. עלילת סוסי דיו מתרחשת בירושלים של ימינו. גיבורה הוא ספק משורר, ספר נער אומלל ואבוד, שניסיון חייו החריג מוביל אותו לזרועותיה של חבורה דקדנטית ומסוכנת. האם יצליחו אדם וחבריו להגיע לירושלים של מעלה? האם תמרה תיענה לחיזוריו של אדם ותשיב לו אהבה? האם יכתוב את שירו?
רוחה של ספרות הרוסית נושפת בתנופה ובעליצות בין דפי הספר ומביאה אליו ניחוחות זרים ומרעננים. רועי חן (1980) כותב בבהירות ובלהט ומתאר בנימה רומנטית, השזורה התבוננויות אירוניות את המציאות המוזרה אליה נקלע גיבורו. חן הוא משורר, מחזאי ומתרגם מרוסית ומצרפתית. מחזות פרי עטו – "ריקוד לבן" ו"שושנת יריחו" – הועלו בפסטיבל עכו לתיאטרון אחר(2004) ובתיאטרון תמונה (קבוצת מלנקי 2005). תרגומו ל"אנשים אומללים" מאת פ.מ. דוסטוייבסקי יראה אור בהוצאת הקיבוץ המאוחד במהלך שנת 2005. ´סוס הדיו´ הוא ספר הפרוזה הראשון פרי עטו.

Born in 1980 in Tel-Aviv, Israel, where he lives with his wife and son.
His father’s side of the family came to the holy land after the expulsion from Spain, about 520 years ago. His mother’s parents came from Morocco in the end of the 1940s.
Roy is an autodidact, and as such he is always in a process of learning. He studied languages: English, Russian, French and Italian and translated classic Russian fiction (Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Chekov etc.) and over 40 theatre plays.
Since 2007 he is the in-house dramaturge of Gesher theatre in Tel-Aviv, where his plays, translations and adaptations are produced. Performances based on Chen’s plays are travelling the world with Gesher Theatre (NYC, Moscow, Beijing etc).
Roy Chen is the recipient of many awards including:
Rosenblum Performing Arts Award by the city of Tel Aviv (2022)
The Prime Minister's Prize for Hebrew Literary Works (2022)
Yitzhak Navon Ministry of Culture and Sports Award for the Preservation and Cultivation of Israeli Cultures. (2017)

got boring somewhat soon. maybe too abstract for me.
