THE DETERMINED VAMPIRE: Niccolo DiConti has faithfully served as leader of Her Majesty’s army for over a millennium, but he’d rather sunbathe in the Sahara than spend another grueling day under his demented queen’s command. However, no one has ever left her side and lived to tell. So when a powerful goddess prophesies he will meet his salvation—a human woman he must turn into a vampire with her consent—he eagerly rises to the challenge. After all, how hard could it be to seduce a human female into taking the immortal plunge? Harder than he thinks. Because his mate won’t be born for another three centuries, and when he wakes up in the goddess’ tomb, not only is his life a mess, but his destined female isn’t about to settle for a coldhearted vampire. Can he win her over before it’s too late? Not if his enemies have anything to do with it.
AN UNWILLING BRIDE: On the night Helena Strauss meets the fierce, devastatingly handsome vampire who saves her life in the jungles of Mexico, she knows her world will be forever changed. Because an attraction this mind blowing only comes along once in a lifetime—or existence. And when he claims she is his one true mate, destined to be his for all eternity, it’s a fairytale come true. So what if her knight in shining armor is a vampire? Nobody’s perfect. But discovering the powerful, overbearing immortal doesn’t “do love”? Deal breaker. Helena will flee and set out to accomplish the impossible…sever the otherworldly bond between them. And it turns out, Helena is just the leverage Niccolo’s enemies need to break the mighty warrior and wipe out his people.

Whether it’s Romance, Suspense/Thriller, or Fantasy, there are always big heroes to root for, smart and resourceful heroines, and a ton of heart pumping excitement in every story.
Mimi lives with her extremely patient husband (“Be right there! Just one more page, honey!”), two pirates-in-training (their boys), and their three spunky dragons (really, just very tiny dogs with big attitudes) Snowy, Mini, and Mack, in the vampire-unfriendly state of Arizona.
Accidentally Married To A…Vampire is the second book in the Accidentally Yours series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. This is a fun, sexy book that is full of romance, action, and an endless supply of great one liners.
Helena has just finished her graduate degree and is ready to enter the work force to start paying off her mountain of student loans.
“For years she worked hard, helping her mother make ends meet. It had made her into a workaholic, worrywart, control freak. Her life became all about the future, avoiding a repeat of her mother’s mistakes. That’s why she’d never had a boyfriend; friends and school were way safer bets.”
Helena takes a vacation to Mexico with her friends but goes on her own on a tour but ends up lost in the jungle. She is drawn to a place where she finds Niccolo who has been asleep for 300 years. He is the most beautiful man she has ever seen and upon his awakening, he claims that she is his fated mate. She can’t deny that she feels something but who wouldn’t, he’s so beautiful. And, there is one major problem, he is a vampire.
Niccolo is 1300 years old. He was turned into a vampire by the very crazy vampire queen, Reyna and has served as her General but he wants to be free of her. So he asks Cimil the Goddess for help. Cimil can see the future so she tells him that he will meet a human that is to be his mate. But that when he meets her, he will have three months to get her to agree to become his bride and to let him make her immortal. Cimil is very, very mischievous. You’re never sure if she herself is crazy or just enjoying pulling the strings. She sees though, that Niccolo is going to be killed before he can meet Helena so she puts him to sleep for 300 years and it is when Helena finds him that he is awoken.
Helena does fall in love with Niccolo but he tells her that he will take care of her, protect her, but…vampire’s don’t “do” love. And that is not enough for her, so she flees and tries to find a way to break the bond between them.
Watching Niccolo try to adapt to life 300 years later is hilarious. He sees his first smart phone, car, and tries to understand our lingo. And Helena…she is smart and gutsy and full of snark. These two together are so sweet and so much fun. This series has been so much fun. I think we will continue to see Cimil wreak havoc on some new unsuspecting characters in the following books so I can’t wait to continue.
Note: This book does contain some adult content so is for appropriate readers only.
So, in this one, we have Helena, who I liked a lot more than the last girl, and Niccolo, a vampire. Helena is one of us: she is in a book club called "The Wine Wenches", she wonders if her happy place is Lady Pervert-Land, and when she gets caught checking out Niccolo's man-bits she says: "Just observing in the name of...science?". Hum, I think she may be one of my goodreads friends!
you know who you are!
Helena is Niccolo's true mate and destiny. He gets locked in a cave for 300 years and Helena is his rescuer. He convinces her that they are meant to be together and buys her a penthouse apartment in Manhattan where she will live until they are married in 3 months. Why does she completely abandon her life to move away with a guy she has had only a couple of conversations with? Science, of course. He's got that vampire mojo that makes her need him. Ick! It's like one of those girls who dumps all her friends and every interest she's ever had as soon as she meets a guy - pathetic, and a little creepy in a serial killer/stalker kind of way.
Stupid balloons being so clingy and shit...
So, Helena sits in this apartment 24/7, waiting for Niccolo to show up a couple times a week for a short visit. It's like she has sentenced herself to jail or something. Maybe she decided she wanted to live like one of those sad old people at the homes who are just waiting for their loved ones to call or visit one day.
See? How pathetic is that?.... ok, ok, it's kind of cute. FOR A DOG!
The good thing about Helena is that she finally realizes that she has made a really stupid decision here. I totally appreciate when someone realizes they are an idiot. It raises my respect level for them. So, Helena takes off.... and lands right into more trouble. But, hey, at least she tried!
Yeah, this is pretty much what happens...
Even though this story was pretty close to the last one, it was still very entertaining and fun. There is an awesome crazy side-character who is a goddess, named Cimil. She totally steals the show with her antics. She's the kind of girlfriend who gets you into bar fights and arrested. Not that I have ever had a friend like that....or been that friend. Nope, not me.... (That instance with our bible-study group and the bar fight was totally NOT our fault!)
Anyway, these books are definitely funny and I will keep going on this crazy-train until they stop making me laugh.
Funny!! I do not think we get enough funny paranormal romances.
“Any day now?” Viktor prodded. “Sì, sì. Do not get your…” Niccolo paused to recall the exact phrase. “Get your balls in a bunch.” Viktor shook his head. “Panties.” Niccolo frowned. “Why would you wear panties? Aren’t those for females?” Viktor growled. “Can we go now?” “Yes, but I insist you tell me more about your man-panties later.”
This wonderful book is riddled with hilarious lines like this, I was amused form beginning to end.
We really have a mythological smorgasbord of characters in this book, and as per usual their strings are all being pulled by the pesky gods.
The whole be careful what you ask for philosophy really needs to be taken into consideration when asking goddess of the underworld Cimli for any sort of favour. She is controlling feature in this book and has her thumb in all sorts of pies. Niccolo, our leading vamp, approaches her to be rid of his position of executioner of the crazy and cruel vamp queen Reyna. She immediately sees a solution for Niccolo, but it involves him taking a human mate, something that he doesn't really have a taste for. Having no choice being human mate or die, he goes for door number one. Cimli sets the gears in motion, however she doesn't tell him that he will be put to sleep for three hundred years or....well, other things that will spoil the story.
Three hundred years later, Helena is having a bad holiday , lost and without her luggage she is lead into the jungle by a floating light. It leads her to a ruin where Niccolo is waiting to be awoken from his slumber. Cimli tricks her into waking him with a kiss and with that, unbeknown to Helena, their bond is forged, mates have met.
The rest of this book is a fun read. Even the tension bits are laced with humour. It is fast paced and easy to consume, I finished it in one sitting. Niccolo, is an interesting character, whose assimilation into the 21st century is hilarious to read. His struggle to understand the world around him a definite plus for me in the book.
There was a sexual tension throughout the book, hampered by Niccolo's need to follow the rules and the prophecy to ensure his future. I could completely understand Helena and her frustration with his cave man view of the world.
All in all, I liked this book, it was enjoyable and really entertaining. I loved the different take on all the mythological creatures and that it wasn't as heavy and depressing as some books in this genre can be. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Cimil is Back and Mimi Jean Pamfiloff has done it again. ACCIDENTALLY IN LOVE WITH...A GOD? is her first book in the Accidentally Yours Series. Terrific. ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED TO...A VAMPIRE? is the second novel, and like the first, it is steamy, romantic, fast-paced, and laugh-out-loud funny.
In this book, we have a new heroine, Helena. She is an evolutionary biologist on vacation in Bacalar, Southern Mexico. She misses her bus and is stuck in a Mayan jungle on a dark, lonely road. Suddenly, she is drawn to a voice calling to her. With great trepidation, she follows the voice into the jungle. There she finds . . . .
Well, our normal girl from Santa Cruz, California, gets involved with some bizarre people . . . scratch that . . . immortals, through no choice of her own.
We are treated again to the hysterically funny Cimil, Goddess of the Underworld. I love Cimil. She is afraid of bugs, adores a good bargain (especially garages sales), loves the color pink, and has the ability to see all possible outcomes of the future. She is dangerous and has more than a few screws loose.
Then there is Niccolo DiConti, who is our incredible vampire. He is called the Executioner, General of the Vampire Queen's army. And there is the cruel and crazy Reyna, the Vampire Queen. Last, but not least, there is sexy Andrus, a dangerous Demilord.
Both Niccolo and Andrus are in love with Helena, and they are not about to let her go. So, how does a mortal get away from all of these immortal, fearsome creatures? Especially when she is not really sure she wants to?
This book was much better than the first one. We are introduced to a new pair in this second book of Accidently Yours series. Helena Strauss is an evolutionary biologist and Niccolo DiConti is a vampire general in the army of a demented vampire queen. Helena is Niccolo's mate, and to reach her, he is helped by Cimil. What happens when the whacky Goddess of the Underworld gets involved? It's total chaos and hilarity. Cimil's scenes are the best ones. Love that batshit crazy Goddess. Hmm.....she kinda reminds of another crazy Goddess of Accession I adore. Anyways this was an entertaining sequel.
Cimil, the Demi-Goddess is back! A little crazier, a little, okay, a lot more manipulative and playing cupid for Niccolo, the ancient General of the Vampire Queen’s Army, who wants out of the queen’s employ. Cimil can get Niccolo free from his majesty’s service, but there’s a catch, and it involves the lovely mortal, Helena and a 300 year sleep, oh, and a kiss! So, they should live happily ever after, right? Not so fast, first Niccolo must convince Helena they are soulmates, destined to be together and it won’t be easy, especially as there is an expiration date on his success. Enemies will interfere, Helena and Niccolo will not see eye to eye on a lot of things, and the clock just keeps on ticking. Will the vampire queen foil Niccolo’s chance for eternal happiness? Will someone else? Who can be trusted?
Accidentally Married to…A Vampire? by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, book 2 in her Accidentally Yours series is as irreverent and as full of attitude as book 1, Accidentally in Love with…A God?! Filled with great characters, from the hot and handsome to the quirky and just plain weird, this addition to the series was highly entertaining and “laugh-out-loud” funny! The dialogue is priceless, the romantic tension felt like trying to balance on a tight rope, blindfolded. Once again, I am simply in awe of Ms. Pamfiloff’s wit, daring and creative mind! If you’re looking for a serious paranormal romance filled with dark tension and gloom and doom, better look elsewhere!
I received a review copy from Hachette Book Group, GRAND CENTRAL PUBLISHING, FOREVER in exchange for my honest review!
Series: Accidentally Yours, Book 2 Publication Date: March 5, 2013 Publisher: Forever ISBN: 9781465751829 Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance Page Count: 236 Available from: Amazon | Barnes & Noble
I love it when a book surprises me, and this book certainly did. I have paid far, far more for books that I think aren't nearly as fresh, funny and likeable as this one (yeah, you, Argenau books). OK, it ain't War and Peace, but then, have you ever read War and Peace? Enough with the Bible-bashing Tolstoy, get to the War!
The book tells the love story of Niccolo and Helena, a vampire and his human bride. Aided/abetted/hampered by a tricksy goddess, their fated true love fails to run smoothly and they face battles, evil and Armageddon along the way. So far, standard PNR fare, and no need to apologise for it.
However, the engaging humour of the book is what sets it apart. Many a true word is spoken in jest, as they say, and the character's banter fulfils the same function as the sarcastic banter between the hero and heroine performs in (most) other PNR books (yawn). I got a real feel for the relationships (or lack thereof at the beginning of the book) and was sucked in accordingly.
What I particularly liked though was the argument between Niccolo and Helena. Honestly, I have never, ever found myself angry at a fictional character before, but I was muttering "oh you b*****d, you will pay for that!" by the end of the chapter.
A fun read I would recommend to all PNR/chick lit/romance/birds books readers.
I tend to have my doubts about the second book in a series, especially if the first one is great (which is the case of Accidentally in love with a god), sometimes the subsequent ones have a tendency to be lacking.
In this second installment of Accidentally Yours, Miss Pamfiloff pulls off another great read. Even though I felt the lead characters in this book weren't as funny as in the first one because there’s a little more drama going on, I completely fell in love with them, and the supporting characters. Because come on, who doesn’t love Cimil?
Overall I loved and laughed so much I got my week's worth of ab exercise and didn’t have to go to my Zumba class!
This was a fluffy-fun paranormal romance that put me in mind of Gena Showalter á la 'Heart of the Dragon' or 'The Stone Prince'. Not that the storylines were overly similar, but more that the cutesy humor and prolonged sexual tension reminded me of GS's earlier work.
For the price (97¢ at Amazon) this fun book was an absolute steal. While some parts in the middle dragged a bit for me, for the most part I found it fresh and entertaining. I will definitely pick up another of Pamfiloff's books again!
My Thoughts Ah! I love this series. This is another excellent addition to this supernatural series. In the last book, we mainly dealt with the gods and this time around it's the vampires turn to shine. Niccolo longs for his one true mate and to change his current existence as a slave to a ruthless and insane queen. Thanks to the help of a wacky and slightly crazy goddess, Nicolo now has the chance at the future he envisions. Flash forward three centuries: Helena is an average human female who is lured to a tomb to discover an unbelievably handsome male. After awakening the sleeping beauty (or beast as the case may be), Helena's life is about to take a drastic turn. Now she can't get the mysterious stranger out of her mind or her dreams. Once Nicolo claims her, her whisks her away from her home to wait out the terms of the prophecy. Emma goes along with this deal for awhile, until she learns the heart of the vampire she has given her love to can't give it back. Now Emma's on a quest to break the bond that holds them together. It's an incredible journey of love, passion, betrayal, heartache, and a bond forged by the universe. Nicolo is an arrogant vampire who takes what he wants and doesn't care about the consequences. He demands obedience and does not tolerate anything that goes against his plans. Emma is a smart, level-headed woman who will not settle for anything less than love. These two characters take you on a journey through so many different emotions and adventures. It's hard to see how their story will play out and if they can ever truly win against the many enemies that surround them. I love this story and I think all my other paranormal romance lovers would adore this series too! Warning: adult content.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review as a part of a blog tour. The entire post is at my blog http://queenofthenightreviews.blogspo...
Accidentally Married to ....A Vampire?, the second book in the Accidentally Yours series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, gives us the story of Niccolo DiConti, a Vampire general, and Helena, a human female who's not sure she wants to become a vampire or listen to a bossy, immortal Alpha male for the rest of eternity. With several interesting plot twists, more snarky dialogue and primary and secondary characters who grab you and don't let go, I found myself once again transported to the heart of the Mexican jungle on another wild tale of love.
Helena, an evolutionary biologist from California, finds herself accidentally stranded in Mexico, when she misses her tour bus. Lost on a lonely, dark road in the middle of a Mayan jungle, Helena hears a mysterious voice, which she follows into the jungle. Little did she know this would lead to her meeting her destined mate, Niccolo DiConti, the General of the Vampire Queen's Army, who's been waiting for her "appearance" for over three centuries. While she's okay with her mate being a vampire; she's not okay with him not believing in love.
With more zingy humor, some scorching hot love scenes and two well developed characters, this is the perfect follow up to Accidentally In Love With...A God.
Fun and jolly. If you like vampires, romance, comedy and tsudere characters - this is definitely something you need to read through once. But only once.
Characterisation: nice but dull. You like the main protagonists but they remain somewhat flat to me. Back-stories matter, but how the author decides to reveal them more so. Alright, but merely alright characterisation. Don't expect these characters to be memorable. They really are fit for a once-over.
Plot: again, alright. Funny, amusing - but once its done that's it. You will not miss anything first time round. It isn't all that complicated. It has good surprise twist here and there; but as I say once its all revealed that is it. A plot which doesn't recommend itself to a second read-over.
Sex scenes/romance: Good(ish). I get the feeling however that this particular author really likes big ... erm ... things? (If you get my drift). Large, moist - entirely unrealistic. And let me also tell you, as a gay man - anything that size wouldn't be fun unless you have a penchant for blood, pain and fist-fun. Unrealistic, but why then do I say good? Because its so over the top it is funny. In a good way or a bad way? I am still not sure. But if you want hot steamy sex which is 100% comical this is it. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
However this novel remains much much better than twilight. But then that isn't hard now is it? No Mormon inspired crappy pseudo-ethics from Ms Pamfiloff - and for that I offer her my thanks.
This vampire novel was filled with eternal mates, twisted love and hatred, cross country chase, and hot, delicious vampires and demilords, what more could a girl ask for? The love between Niccolo and Helena seems somewhat rushed, but it's still cute. Thanks to the help of Crazy Cimil, who remainds me of "Nucking Futs Nix" from Kresley Cole's immortals after dark series, our cute pair comes together, but it seems more for the entertainment and benefit of Cimil. Anyways, I truly enjoyed her ridiculous humor, which nobody in the book seems to grasp because she refers to things from the future such as Dexter in the beginning of the book when that show doesn't come about until 300 years later. I guess part of being a seer includes being crazier than insanity itself. >_<
This book tried way too hard. I could tell she was going for funny... but I didn't laugh. Too many sad attempts to be clever.
The Cimil character reminded me of a cross between Simi from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters series and Nix from Kresley Cole's Immortals after Dark series. Except, Simi and Nix really are hilarious, clever, and intelligent characters where Cimil is sort of annoying counterfeit.
Otherwise, the characters were vapid and annoying. The plot was disorganized and nonsensical, not to mention transparent.
I don't know how this book got so many decent reviews!
It's official. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is in the top 5 of my favorite authors. Her books are well written, descriptive and keeps me on the edge of my seat. So far, I can't put her books down. Mimi is one of those authors that gets me out of my book slump.
The story is about Helena and Niccolo (Vampire). From start to finish, I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters. I really enjoy a book with suspense, sexual attraction and humor. There are times where I've caught myself laughing out loud. One example is when Helena offered Andrus Niccolo's cookies. LOL.....so funny to me.
We see more of Cimil in this book. She pretty much does what she does best; which is manipulating and causes unnecessary drama. Niccolo wants to be freed from Reyna, the Vampire Queen. In order to do that, he has to meet his love and complete several tasks to the letter within a 3 month span. At least that is what Cimil has told him. Of course, Cimil does not give him the entire truth. See, Cimil loves drama so she gets off to seeing people suffer. One of those tasks was that Niccolo could not bite Helena. I could write so much more but I do not want to spoil it for others. Read the book! It's great.
I did have a soft spot for Andrus. I hope to hear more about his character.
Yes, I am a few years behind but I am catching up. The book is about 181 pages (iBooks).
This book is the reason why I totally remembered why I loved reading paranormal stories in the first place. I've stopped for a while, but after reading this, I now miss it! What a great book/story!
You have Niccolo the Vampire and Andrus the DemiGod, who are both sexy, fierce, loyal, strong and on a mission. There missions, we find out, are a bit intertwined, although not specifically the same. They are both running from a past that they would like to bury and keep buried forever. But to do that, they both have to get rid of the same thing, that's in the way of them doing so. Niccolo wants to be free of a life of killing innocent as the Queen Vampire's General, whereas, Andrus wants to break his ties to the same Queen Vampire by killing her and the whole Vampire squad that she's made. A bit tricky, when he'll have to kill Niccolo as well, in order to do so. Even ore trickier when they find out that they have a family bond, AND they both have feelings for the same human.
Helena, you're regular, everyday, type of woman. Niccolo's mate and Andrus's bait in this battle. Niccolo needs to keep Helena by his side, to get her to fall in love with him, and ask to be changed to a vampire on her own free will, for his curse to be lifted. While Andrus needs to keep Helena by his side, to drive Niccolo insane, and get him the Queen Vampire so that he can kill her and be set free. Unbeknownst to Helena, they both have secrets that they are keeping from her and she's about had it with the both of them. She runs off on Niccolo, only to be scooped up by Andrus. She then enters into a state of having feelings for BOTH of them, while still wanting to get away from them. Niccolo, is always on her mind though. Can she break the bond she has to Niccolo, so she can be rid of him, with Andrus's help? Even though Andrus has a secret that will blow her life apart?
If you're a Dark Hunter fan, and you adored Simi, (Come on, who didn't?) Then you'll love Cimil. She's the crazy, entertaining, funny, almost child like in humor, sarcastic and loud Goddess. She's known to trick people into giving her what she wants, by giving them what they want, but always with a price or a loophole mixed in. So even though, you think she's tricking you in the end, she's always still leaving something open for you, to acquire what it truly is that you want. She's totally hysterical throughout the whole book.
Then there's of course the vicious and evil Queen Vampire, Reyna. Everyone hates her, but no one can get rid of her. Unless of course, Niccolo & Andrus work together, but that doesn't seem likely. Or does it?
Mixed with humor beyond humor, I laughed so much during this story, love, romance, some wonderful sex moments and a great character appearance, you'll love this book, as much as I did. And when Niccolo and Helena meet for the 1st time, it's rather hysterical, light hearted and romantic all in one. It's also about fighting for the one you love no matter what, even if it means death. I wish there were more stories with Niccolo, Andrus & Helena out there somewhere!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I bought this book not knowing anything about the author. It was great! One of the best Vampire books I have read in a long time. I LOVED the character of Simi! She is absolutely hilarious! The story starts with the main male character a vampire named Niccolo. He is a general to a queen vampire and doesn't want to lead her army any more. He goes to Simi, a god like deity, and asks for her help. She tells him that he must meet his true love, marry her 3 months after meeting her, but don't have sex with her or take her blood until that 3 month mark. He is horrified that it will be a human but accepts. She doesn't tell him that he must wait 300 yr to do so. So she knocks him out and hides him. He wakes 300 yrs later to Helena and knows she is the one. The story is about the 2, there problems getting to know one another or lack there of, an up coming war between good and bad vamps, a group of people who want to kill the queen vamp, and as like any story with Greek gods, they don't all ways tell you the complete truth. As Simi would say, "Can't mess with free will and all". The story is complex yet pretty easy to follow. A lot of fighting and lots of laughs! Very comical situations! The characters are lovable you want them to find happiness in the end, even the would be villain. In the "HOT" factor, and you know what I mean, it is a lot of sexual tension with not a whole lot of sex. There are a couple scenes but not much and they are short. I love a good read with some hot sex, just as much as the next but the story made up for the lack there. Worth the read! I will read the rest of the series!
This one is a fruity drink served in a coconut shell with an umbrella. It's sweet and totally enjoyable. I had so much fun with this book. Ms. Pamfiloff got my attention from the first screen. I was leery of the name. I won't lie about that but it all made sense once I got into the story.
According to my ebook, this is book two of the series which caused much confusion which remains unresolved. It's a stand-alone so I don't feel cheated. None-the-less, Helena is the heroine and she was all the things I like. Funny, smart, and honest. Her love interest is an old school alpha male named Niccolo. He is an old-as-dirt vamp that has been asleep for 300 years. He is the right hand warrior for a crazy queen who he wants to be free of. He goes to a crazy Nix-like crazy Goddess for help and finds out she has a round-about way helping him gain his freedom. Her names is Cimil and she is a hoot. If you don't get the Nix (Immortals After Dark)reference don't call yourself a paranormal fan.
The characters are easy to like and dislike. The banter is fresh and the scenes are energetic. There is sex but it comes towards the end and isn't too graphic. Make no mistake, the heroine and hero had sex on the mind but the circumstances weren't right in the earlier pages. There are so many little treats in this one. The vampire mythology won't hold up for diehard UF fans but it worked for me. The damn thing is just enjoyable like a fruity umbrella drink while you wiggle your toes in the sand on a perfect beach day. It lifted my mood and made me laugh out loud. Pure Enjoyment. It's also a full length novel which is a bonus.
I received an ARC copy of this book in the mail yesterday and I meant to just read a couple of chapters here and there but I could not put it down! I loved this book! This book has Good Vampires, Bad Vampires, Gods and Demigods! Such a great book!
Niccolo gets put into a 300 year sleeping state by a Goddess to await his Mate, Helena. While on a trip to Mexico she awakens Niccolo. Under a sort of trance she kisses him and gives him a taste of her blood at the same time. Niccolo is under strict orders that he cannot make love her or turn her without her permission.
Helena feels the bond between them but does not quite understand it. And when she comes to the conclusion that he does not and will not love her she decides that she will not marry him after all because she cannot live like that. Getting away from him tends to be a bit of a problem though. In comes Andrus. A demigod with a grudge against Reyna the Vampire Queen who Niccolo is trying to be free of.
Helena goes on quite the adventure of what she thought was going to be her happily ever after and ended up with her heart breaking and her being used as a pawn and having two immortals fighting over her! I would definitely recommend reading this book! It looks as though it's part of a series but as this is the first one I have read looks as though it can be read as a stand alone also. I'm now looking forward to reading the rest of the books! And as I was so hooked on this book I think I have found a new author to add to my list of favorites!!
If you are looking for a dominant hero who sees what he wants and takes it then you will enjoy this read :) Niccolo is kind of your typical paranormal hero....dominant, demanding, and toe curling sexy. Helena, believe it or not, was a heroine I actually enjoyed. This character is not your typical roll over and beg him to take you type woman and I loved that.
Helena is on a tour and becomes left behind in the jungle...all because she had to tinkle. This would so happen to me. She begins to wander down the road in the direction she believes town is only to be drawn off course. Finding herself in the jungle and wandering toward something....something that begins to frighten her yet her body seems to have a mind of its own...going directly to the niggling feeling of danger.
Niccolo has been lying in wait so to speak for "her". Now he senses her and is calling out to the one who can free him from the queen. Only Niccolo assumes this will be a simple task of once his female sees him she will be enthralled and never want to part. Well that went up in flames because Helena managed to regain control of her senses and beat feet.
This story was refreshing. I loved the storyline, the main characters, and there were some interesting secondary characters that make you want to hear what is in their future.
This read will definitely have me picking up book three.
This is my first time reading a book by Ms. Pamfiloff and it will most certainly not be my last. I was intrigued by the title of the book because it was kind of quirky so I expected to get a cute and quirky read with not a whole lot of depth to it. Boy, was I wrong! The plot, the characters, the storyline...everything worked together in perfect harmony to create a highly engaging and interesting read. I couldn't put the book down. Loved Niccolo and Helena and the realational power struggle between them. She wanted to him to trust her...he wanted to keep her safe and that tug of war became an impasse that kept them at odds with each other most of the time. Their angst was written so well but it was not not overdone because you actually understood the motives of both characters. And Andrus...yum! The best "bad guy" ever! I loved him too.
An amazing story that I truly enjoyed. Bravo Ms. Pamfiloff!!!
It was fun reading this. I just needed a stress-free read today and this one was perfect.
Niccolo is such a cute character! Haha! His character's pov is just plain fun to read. I am happy for him and Helena. I'm glad that they got their happily ever after. The story was pretty light and humorous. I'm definitely reading more from this author.
It was a fun read, I enjoyed reading thes book. It is for sure not a masterpiece, but a really good mix of love, romance, some hot sex moments and great characters!
And it turns out, Helena is just the leverage Niccolo’s enemies need to break the mighty warrior and wipe out his people
Heather's Notes For the most part I liked Helena and Niccolo, they were a good couple, but then the author added Andres to the mix and the story turned for me. She didn't actually do the love triangle but it came close. Niccolo also starting getting crazy, which apparently is because Helena was human and that is what happens if you don't change them. Also Cimil was at times funny, and at times annoying. I will be enjoying her story. I may continue this series or not. I have not decided.
Niccolo Diconti (Vampire Genera; Executioner, right-hand man of Reyna) was asking Cimil for a favour (her prophecies) to be released from servicing or killing people for his vampire queen - Reyna's command. Cimil told him the only way to survive from Reyna's wrath was by to fing his true mate - a human. And he needs to turned the woman into vampire with her permission on their 3rd monthsary. Cimil puts him to sleep for 300 years awaiting his mate arrival. Helena was left by the bus at the Mexican jungle. She was entranced to kiss awake Nicco in 2012. 😆 She waited for his call for three weeks. She and her friends almost get raped by drunken biker but Niccolo saved them. He bought her a penthouse in Manhattan NY. 8 weeks later, short a week from their wedding, she confronted him and asked him if he love her. Wrong answer given "Vampires do not do love". So she planned her escape. He tricked Viktor by wounding her hand and accused him trying to gobble Niccolo's wife. Then she snatched the phone and call 911 reporting faux fire. She managed to escape. Cimil became a female taxi driver. Andrus Gray following Helena and offering to bring her to San Francisco to review the vampire archive to undo their bond. Viktor told Niccolo he put tracking GPS in Helena's phone so Niccolo can sifting (transport) to find her. He had to get her back quickly and make amends. He had only six days left until their three-month anniversary. She had to be turned willingly, or the prophecy would not be fulfilled, and Niccolo’s one chance of leaving the queen would be lost. That meant he’d never have the chance to know peace or a day of freedom. He’d never know Helena’s sweet body inside and out. His mind toggled through the catalog of fantasies awaiting their day in the spotlight. His standard: taking her for the first time over a bed of velvety red rose petals, the midnight crackle of a fireplace, the sweet scent of her arousal filling his lungs as he plunged himself repeatedly inside her. Then there was the fantasy of taking her in the shower, pinning her against the wall, her legs wrapped around his waist as she panted his name in his ear. 😍 She promised 3 days of her time in the car with Adrus. Niccolo sifted and found her in the fitting room where she tried a lace bra. They dry-humped and Niccolo failed to sift her with him. Adrus seems to hate flying but agreed later. 😬 They need to stay a night cause there was no flight to San Francisco. Niccolo came again and was surprised to see Andrus with Helena. Andrus and Helena then left, he told her his stories. So, he was seduced by Reyna and was turned into vampire 300 years earlier. But he ended in the cenote and was given light by the Gods. So he became a Demilord - a powerful race that could kill Obscuros and commanded by the God. Andrus was planning to kill Reyna, the woman he once loved - who sold his souls to the Gods. The Gods can actually remove their light and turn him back into vampire. The flight was cancelled due to the rain and snow. So they drove again until they stopped at a gay bar. There Andrus cannot deny her attraction to Helena and kissed her. They went outside to fight but the Obscuros came so they fought side by side. Andrus brought Helena to a hotel and figured out about the GPS so he dumped her phone. But now, Niccolo can find and sift to Helena easily. He told her his stories and told he he loves her. ❤️ He sifted with her after burying her grandmother's ring. He sifted her to the room beneath Andrus. Lol. He couln't bear to hurt Helena so he made this self-righteous move to make Helena leave with Andrus and found a way to break their bond through the Demilord archive. Maybe he should end everyone’s suffering and kill Reyna instead. But that would never happen. The universe’s cruel joke. Although a well-trained vampire might be strong enough to kill her, no vampire would dare because if the queen were to die, any vampire carrying her blood would perish along with her. It was plausible that this meant the entire race. And that was why he suspected the gods had ultimately spared her; they believed the Creator would punish them if they wiped out one of his creations. He’d promised himself he’d stay away, but he could not resist. He missed Helena so badly that he could not feed—not even a drop of flavorless bagged blood. Nor could he sleep. It had been just two days since she’d left, but it felt like an eternity. He felt her sorrow and pain twenty-four hours a day. Could it be that she wept even in her sleep? The thought drove him mad. He hoped she’d find a way to break their bond—not that it would stop him from loving her, but at least he didn’t have to feel her pain too. At least she might be free to move on and find another worthy of her. So she was locked in an abandoned hangar with archives. When she read one of the book, she finally figured out that Niccolo will die if the queen dies. Cimil came to her. Helena felt as though she’d been punched in the stomach. She’d given up her winning lottery ticket to true love and happiness with Niccolo. “What did Niccolo need to do in order to be on that path?” Cimil replied, “There was a high probability he would have been murdered before you were born—I had to stop that from happening. Then there was the matter of accelerating his falling in love with you.” She sighed. “He’s such a workaholic. Never stops to reflect, smell the roses. It’s just kill, kill, protect, protect with that man. If I hadn’t intervened, it would have taken him years to not only take your blood to create the bond, but to truly realize his love for you. So, I set the stage. He wanted his freedom from the queen. I told him you were the key. I also threw him a few curveballs. Told him—and you’re gonna bust up when you hear this—he could not bed you, bite you, yadda yadda.” She roared with laughter. “That way he’d focus on getting to know you as a person, and not the sexy tigress… grrrr”—she clawed at the air—“that you are. She snickered and slapped her thigh. “It was hysterical watching him keep his hands off you! OMGsss.” She shook her head. “Good times. Good times. Oh! And I told him you needed to be made a vampire, willingly, on the day of your three-month anniversary. That was a big must—or, is a big must. Yeah. That one was right… I think. It’s hard to keep this stuff straight in my head.” It all explained Niccolo’s bizarre behavior. “So you lied to him? It was all just a plan to get him to fall in love with me quickly and then lead the army for your war?” “Looks like your boy Andrus, there, has taken a liking to you. Totally unexpected, you know, and it will all end terribly. He kills Niccolo. You kill Andrus. And we’re left with that crazy cow, Reyna, and lose the Great War.” Cimil made a sour face and turned her thumb down. “Booo. Terrible ending.” “Why does Andrus try to kill Niccolo? I thought he was after Reyna?” Cimil shrugged. “Ask him. Likely some competitive, jealousy bull crap. What do I care? He’s not nearly as entertaining as Niccolo. Especially with that bond you two share—it’s the most powerful I’ve ever seen. Oh! How about the time he was PMSing? Does it get any better than that? PMSing vampire men! Hysterical!” A blind rage flew over Helena. “Glad to see the destruction of our lives is so damn amusing to you! You know what? Maybe the world is better off ending in a giant apocalypse! At least we won’t have to put up with your insanity! Niccolo was surprised by how well his plan had worked. It actually seemed a little too easy. Initially, he’d debated whether or not to tell the queen about the Demilord’s plans to assassinate her. Reyna was known for being hotheaded and vengeful. But he figured if he could convince her to play this out his way, she could stop Andrus and save Helena and his men. The queen granted them freedom in exchange for delivering Andrus. Niccolo hadn’t had much time to think about what he would do when he finally saw Helena; there was so much to say. Should he start with how sorry he was for not giving her his heart from the first moment they’d met? Or, perhaps, ask her forgiveness for being so selfish and thinking only of his freedom and the prophecy? What about his insanely stupid move to let her go with Andrus so she could be free from him? No, he would start with saying how much he loved her. He’d quickly sifted back to the penthouse. After their lovemaking, Niccolo was in rage thinking Viktor had hurt Helena. While Andrus was tied to be raped by Reyna, he said he was only getting hard because he was thinking of Helena. Reyna get pissed because he was not supposed to love another woman. She bit Andrus' neck. Niccolo tried to stab Reyna but Helena coverd Reyna's body. Dramatic dialogue of love watched by Cimil and Viktor. 😝 “Cimil sighed. “I suppose. Do you think Niccolo will ever forgive you for turning Helena into a vampire?” Viktor growled. “You told me he would because I saved her. Since Reyna wasn’t my maker, Helena will live on. Do you think he’ll ever forgive you for turning him into a Demilord before you put him to sleep in your piggy bank?” She shrugged. “Oooh. I hope not. I love conflict—World War Numero Dos… fucking awesome! Can’t wait for number three! BTW, I wonder if we can come up with any new twists for these two lovers. Oh! How about Immortal Survivor? We can put them on an island with only each other for food. See who holds out longest?” They woke up in spanish style villa. He had turqoise eyes now as he is Demigod. Cimil wedded them. 6 months later Helena was pregnant. Cimil appeared with Andrus. Helena had not wanted to tell Niccolo until the right time—which, ironically never came—but she thought he had a right to know. She told him how Reyna had abducted dozens of men from Niccolo’s bloodline to turn into vampire soldiers. Helena nodded. “Yes, he’s a descendent of your eldest brother.” Niccolo brushed a stray curl from her face as he mulled it over for several moments. “Fine, if he lays one finger on you, though—” Cimil appeared close behind Niccolo, chewing an extra-large chocolate chip cookie. Crumbs tumbled down her dress. “Funny you should bring that up. Because fate has spoken, and Andrus will have another chance at love now that Reyna is dead. But, no worries. Helena’s off the table.” Niccolo glowered at Cimil. “Thanks for clearing that up. Now, if you don’t mind, we are trying to talk, Cimil.” Cimil strolled away, mumbling and chewing. “Fine… but don’t say I didn’t try to warn you ahead of time. His son and your daughter’s wedding will come faster than you realize, and making a bridesmaid dress for a whale is no easy task.” Niccolo and Helena swallowed hard as they realized what Cimil was trying to say. Andrus’s future son and her baby? “I’m going to kill him!” Niccolo flew from Helena’s grasp, but when he reached the kitchen, it was empty. Cimil’s laughter echoed from some unknown place in the room. “See you at the big kickoff!”

This is the first book by this author I have read (and I didn't realize it was #2 in a series).
I took a chance on it, the plot sounded interesting and it was only 99 cents on amazon, so win-win.
I really liked it!
It was pretty entertaining and it made me laugh out loud more then once.
Niccolo DiConti is the commander of the crazy vampire queen's army. But after hundreds of years he's kinda over it. She was always a few grapes short of a bunch, but now she's gone off her rocker and telling him to do things like kill innocents! That's who he protects, and he takes his job very seriously. So in the 1700s he decides to call it quits and asks Cimil, a goddess, for help because he knows if he tries to leave the queen will kill him. The goddess tells him that his bond-mate will help him. The catch? She's human and won't be born for 300 years, so Cimil just puts him to sleep (without warning him) in the meantime.
Fast forward to present day and Helena is on a tour in Mexico when her tour bus leaves her and she gets lost in the jungle. Following a light, she makes her way to a cave and finds Niccolo. Hearing his voice in her head convincing her to wake him up with a kiss, she calls herself all kinds of crazy, but complies.
Niccolo wakes up not knowing he's been asleep 300 years but does recognize Helena as his mate. Bonded to her now and feeling overwhelming lust, he must protect her. Cimil told him that he can not touch her for 3 months and on the anniversary of their 3rd month meeting, he must turn her into a vampire. Oh yeah, and he is forbidden to tell her ANYTHING until she is actually turned. But denying himself is harder then he thought, so he locks her up guarded in a penthouse and spends as much time away from her as possible.
Helena, despite all this, totally falls for him. And obviously Niccolo falls for her too, but is still thinks that he doesn't "do love." Yes, she is bound to him, yes he lusts after her and wants her for all time. But love? Pssssh.
Helena is understandably pissed and at the first opportunity takes off to break their bond. Unfortunately there really are people trying to kill her and him off...and they see this as an opportunity.
Helena manages to get herself left behind in the middle of nowhere whilst on holiday with her friends in the jungles of Mexico. Unknown to her, she has become the pet project of an insane demi-goddess and the long awaited mate of a vampire. Cimil isn't a fairy godmother, and Niccolo isnt the perfect prince, so life really isn't improving for the 20+ year old virgin who learns that losing her virginity to a sexy hunk isn't as easy as she had thought it would be....
I came across the "Accidentally" books by, well..... accident.. and am so pleased that I did. Each had me smiling and enjoying every minute. the humour is fresh and the situations not overdone. Niccolo sounds gorgeous, though perhaps too akin to the Mafia in his "caring for the little woman" approach to relationships. Helena, as she states herself, IS a whiner and that does start to grate after a while.
I like strong, feisty women, but Im not so keen on mouthy, "me, me, me" women who refuse to listen to someone else's side of the story. I know that the character's mistakes help to move the plot along, but I do wish sometimes there could be other modes of transport! Why cant fiesty, gutsy women also be listeners and thinkers of life one step ahead of their libido?
Enough whining or I will sound like Helena!! It's a fun story and I read it before "Accidentally In Love". Actually, for the reasons given above, I found this book better than the story of Emma, because she was the epitome of selfishness..... Perhaps godlike males like whinging women? particulalry when these women spend an inordinate amount of time gazing at the family jewels........
Both stories are fun to read - I am really looking forward to the third to be released some time this year! Whiney women are a small price to pay because the stories are fresh and the pace stays lively. Definately recommend them!!
