My Review:


I'll admit right up front that I didn't enjoy this book, but in no way is that a reflection on the writing skill of this author. The writing in this is just fine. In fact, I really enjoy this author's style of writing. Her writing is really easy and entertaining to read and has a great flow. For me, this was a personal issue with the actual story line. So if the story description appeals to you, then you need to ignore my review entirely and stop reading it right now! ;o)

In this book, Sara is desperate to return to the reservation after losing sight of what's important in her life. While I can understand a need to get back to family in those circumstances, she saw the reservation as her salvation/safe place, not her family...which to me, just didn't ring true. Along the way, she gets sidelined by Mitch who's just discovered he's a father when Lilian (the child's mother) abandons her baby at the ranch. Mitch finds himself desperate for a nanny and convinces Sara to help. I liked this aspect of the story especially the poignant moments between the three of them (Mitch, Sara, and the baby). What I had an issue with is Sara's trust of Lillian. She gives her the full benefit of the doubt rather than believing the guy she knows and loves, Mitch. Again, this just didn't read right to me.

Overall this book was just one that I didn't enjoy. The story was a familiar one, but the twists the author gave to it didn't work for me as a reader. BTW, I've already read book #3 in this series and will put that review up tomorrow and I LOVED that one!! I definitely like this author!

Another weekend romance read from Lisa Mondello. The author has a way of writing a story that allows you to escape momentarily into the romance. The author does a great job in writing an entertaining story. I love that she brings the characters from the first book to this one. We get to find out what has been going on in their lives.
The author touches on a sensitive subject, abuse. Whether it is physical, sexual, or verbal, abuse is abuse. Sara experienced that with her ex-husband Dave. He was verbally abusive to her. In this story that past relationship hinders her when it comes to Mitch. She has to remind herself that not all men are Dave. Some men are pretty awesome. I think Mitch proved that with his son Jonathan. The baby was left behind by his mother, when other men would be calling up Maury Povich for a DNA test he took the mother's word as truth. He knew that Jonathan was his son.I loved that about Mitch. Mitch shows his love for his son and Sara when the baby's mother shows up and wants him back. She is willing to let Mitch have him for the right price. This is where Sara steps in and saves the day. Her and Mitch get to be a family with baby Jonathan.
I think I loved this story the most out of the whole series. It felt more real. I think because of Sara's story. The author doesn't go into extreme details of her time with Dave, it still has to be a heart warming story. She tells just enough to give us the basics of what happened.
I enjoyed this book but my one dislike is that I wish that there was more of a story with Lillian. Lillian is Jonathan's mother and Mitch's ex. The author talks about the back story between Mitch and her but I felt that if She was playing a big part in the story there should have been more to her. Maybe something to make you feel for her just a little.
Overall I loved the book and I can not wait to read the rest of the series.

His Heart for the Trusting is the second book in the Texas Heart Series, Lisa Mondello’s writing is good, story line is well written and I really enjoyed reading about the friendship that blossomed between Sara and Mitch.

Mitch works on the ranch and feels he is finally doing something that may lead to his dream of owning his own ranch one day come true, but his plans may be put on hold for awhile when he finds out his ex-girlfriend has just dropped on a baby claiming he is the father and it’s his turn to raise him.

Sara who is finally returning home to Texas from a horrible marriage just wants to start over and work teaching children about their history. When Mitch realizes he needs help and Sara maybe the one person who is willing to help for a short time till he can figure things out.

The friendship, and the relationship that builds up between Mitch and Sara is great, but of course they due run into a few problems along the way.

Lisa Mondello has written another fantastic novel in this series and I am excited to see what happens in book 3.

I have rated His Heart for the Trusting 4 stars and would recommend it to anyone who loves romance novel.

This is another great book in this set. Even though Sara came back to Texas to live on the reservation after the mistake she made and was upset with herself, I could easily see how she would want to leave when she was just a teenager. There are not many of us who think without our hormones and maturity at that age! I loved Mitch! I could just see him not knowing what to do with a baby when his son was dropped off! I loved how Sara helped him fall in love with his son and get comfortable taking care of him. I couldn’t stand the baby’s mother! I can’t stand women like her. This is such a good book that I strongly encourage you to read.

These are such good stories in the Texas Heart book trio. This was the second story about Mitch and Sara. Mitch is suddenly a dad when a ex drops off his son and takes off. Sara has come back home for awhile and helps Mitch out by becoming a nanny for him until he can find one. Well as you know things don't usually go well in love and back comes the ex to take the baby back. You have to read this one It is great

I found this to be an enjoyable read with Sara going back home to the Reservation after a bad marriage. Her plan is to be a Native American stoyteller and teach the children about their culture. On her way she stops to visit her friend Mandy and finds Mitch who has just had his 2 week old son (that he didn't know about) dumped on him by his ex-wife. Sara calms the situation and handles the child expertly which calms both Mitch and the baby. Mitch needs a nanny immediately so Sara agrees to stay until another person can be found.

I liked this sweet romance. It's well written and has good characters. Sara had made a mistake when she was younger by marrying and leaving the Reservation. She learned from her mistake and came back with a goal in mind that she was not going to be swayed from. I didn't like how she sometimes made decisions and wouldn't admit when she was wrong. Mitch was so different. He had a goal to buy his own ranch but didn't hesitate to keep the baby knowing caring for him would mean he wouldn't be able to earn the money he needed as fast.

I loved the first book in this series so I was looking forward to reading this one. This was a good story but I like the other one better.

Can you imagine walking into a friends house, seeing a crying baby and hearing the announcement that this baby was your son? A son you didn’t know anything about; nor did you know your ex was pregnant… this is the story in the book. Mitch had to learn how to care for a son and found it overwhelming. Then the other shoe drops when his ex wants him back, or, does she want something else. I had purchased this book years ago and had the opportunity to read it again in the recent box of books called A Cowboy Kind of Night. I enjoyed the book and plan to read more books by this author.

I would go with 2.5 stars for this book. I had issues with the characters behavior.

Why didn't Mitch immediately contact an attorney? I understand the initial shock, but he had no thoughts of protecting himself or his son. I didn't understand why Sara thought she knew more about Mitch's ex wife than Mitch did.

The only saving grace was that Sara came through towards the end of the book.

Loved it/Great Series

I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know all the characters. I loved Mitch and Sara's story and little Jonathan. Neither of them had a happy past but find love and happiness with each other. A captivating read.

Love this story

Sara and Mitch have both had hard lives. Sara meets Mitch at the ranch. He had just discovered he had a son. He was dropped at the ranch by his ex. He had no idea what to do. Sara agrees to help. Their emotions are up and down until his ex comes back and wants his son back. The fight for his son is very emotional. True personalities come out. Love this. Cute story.

I liked this book a lot more than the first one in the series, Her Heart for the Asking.

First of all, I liked the friendship between Sara and Mitch, their chemistry. And the thing I loved most was that their story didn't feel rushed in any way to me. I loved seeing them together, bonding and trying to figure out what their relationship should be like, all the while keeping their friendship intact.

Sara is a woman with scars. She went through some ugly moments with her ex-husband and she did some things she's not exactly proud of, but she tries to learn from her past and use it to help Mitch. She tries to see the good in everyone, even if she's sometimes mistaken.

Mitch is a very sexy cowboy. But there's a lot more to him than that, trust me. He's funny, stubborn, proud, sensible and he has great taste in music. He had a rough childhood and he'll do whatever it takes too make sure that his son won't go through the same traumatic experiences, even if it means giving up his dreams.

There were some very funny moments, there were some sad moments and everything in between. One thing I adored was that we get some info on what happens currently with Mandy and Beau, the heroine and hero from the previous book. I like getting news about old characters, it makes the stories inside a series a lot more real to me.

I would recommend this book to anyone loving a good romance book.

This was the second book in the series "Texas Hearts" and it was a great read. When Sara Lightfoot, finally gets the courage to divorce the man that she married and left her childhood home for, a man that verbally abused her, she wants nothing more than to move back to the reservation and teach the children the Apache ways. She never expects to end up being a live-nanny for Mitch Broader, who never expected that he would be needing a nanny. His ex-wife just left his son at the ranch for him to raise, a son he did not know that he had. Mitch, is a cowboy who is not afraid of hard work, but is afraid of this tiny baby. Sara helps him learn how to take care of the infant. They both quickly fall in love with the tiny bundle, but can Mitch make Sara see, that her life can be whole on the ranch with him and baby Jonathan. When the ex comes back and wants the baby, at first Sara feels sorry for her, but finally realizes that she has to stand up for the man and the baby that she has come to love. A great romance story.

My thoughts:
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read and review this book. I truly enjoyed the first book in the series and was expecting the same of this one. I was NOT disappointed.

It was exciting to revisit the main characters from the first book as secondaries in this book, but pleasantly surprised that I liked Mitch and Sara as much as I liked Mandy and Beau in Her Heart for the Asking. Lisa Mondello is wonderfully skilled in creating the kind of characters that a reader can really believe and invest in. I loved how Sara's fierce loyalty and determination comes out and how Mitch virtually blooms into the kind of father every child should have.

The romance is sweet and steamy - I know that sounds wrong, but it's true.

With each Lisa Mondello book I read, I like her style, stories and characters more and more. This was the second book of hers that I read, but plan to read more. I am currently reading the next book in this series, The More I see.

I read somewhere that Mitch Broader was first introduced in the book "Nothing but Trouble. I read it first. Not sure that was necessary because there is a conflict as to where he spent his younger years and how he became a cowboy and he played a very small part in the book. He could have been any cowboy for the significance in the story. By itself, this story was great though. Mitch finds himself with a baby and not sure why it's been dropped off at his door step. Sara is back in town and helps him to get to know his son and how to take care of him and then the child's mother returns to play her blackmailing tricks. It was really easy to fall in love with Mitch, Sara and little Jonathan. Was also great to return to Beau and Mandy and see how life went for them. A good story all around.

This gentle romance touches the heart as Mitch struggles to come to terms with the baby his ex-wife dropped into his lap and then spins a manipulative web of destruction in the background, causing untold grief and pain. This book is a sweet and clean well-written romance that comes to a happy and fulfilling closure.

When Sara Lightfoot left Texas, she left the reservation, her family and her friends. She was out to live the better life. Now she is home with more strength and self worth than she ever had "living the life". Within 10 minutes of arriving at her mother's work, she is begged to take the job as live in nanny to Jonathon, Mitch's baby.
Before giving his heart to his baby and the nanny, he needs to figure out what Jonathon's mother and his ex-wife really want.

What a great story full of lots of emotion. Sara and Mitch deal with their own pasts while trying to help Mitch with his son Jonathon. Sara goes to great lengths to help Mitch learn to love and at the same time freeing herself from her past.

I actually cried when I read this book especially when Sara left Mitch when the papers were delivered. I was happy she was on the plane to Baltimore surely thought it was her mother doing. I wanted to see what she told her mother once she arrived. I was sure he wasn't going to be the father in the end but was happy my munch of a recorder being there was right. I wanted Lillie to be exposed so badly, she did have a flawless plan if she kept her mouth shut. I loved the first two books and now on the the last. Greatest .99 Cyber Monday download ever. Three great books.

I got this free from Amazon and am voluntarily writing a review. Sara is returning to Texas after getting out of a bad marriage. She plans to return to the Reservation and teach native children their culture with stories that have been passed down for generations. She stops to see her childhood friend Mandy and walks in on a overwhelmed Mitch who just found out he was a father and had his 2 week old baby dumped on his door step. Sara agrees to be a live in nanny until Mitch can find a replacement for her so she can continue with her plans to teach.

Good plot, bad execution

This was a story about a man finding out he is a father and meeting the woman he will come to love within a few moments of each other. I didn't understand Sarah or her point of view. I hated that she didn't support Mitch at first. I didn't like how Mitch didn't take any legal action when Lilian dropped off the baby or have DNA testing to secure his claim to his son and get legal custody. Their was no chemistry between the H & H. This was an average read that came up short.

Formal cowpoke for the Double T. now a partner of the ranch will get a very small but big surprise one day of is two week old newborn son. His ex just left the baby at the ranch and high tailed it out of there. He doesn't know the first thing about human babies. His savior shows up half hour later in the form of Sara Lightfoot, Alice's daughter and Mandy's best friend. She will be his savior in more ways then to help him with his son.

I loved this book more than the first. Sara and Mitch were wonderful together. I loved that this book was set sometime after the first book. I loved that a the book lasted over months to really see the bond grow. I love that both Sara and Mitch fell in love with each other and his son at the same time. I did not like Lillian and was glad how things ended. I can't wait to start the other book.

Book one and two of this series, Texas Hearts were just outstanding!! The books kept me going, there was no boring parts. They were about true friendship .The gradual steps of a relationship. Friendship, trials , trust, emotion, headache and finally true love. A real life story!!

Good romance

I enjoyed the story a lot---very very romantic for both the characters and the unexpected addition of Johnathan, a baby a few weeks old. But story was very vanilla with no sex/loving other than kissing, holding hands or hugging. Not near as exciting a story, was hard to focus my thoughts on the lines.
