I don't think I've read such a great series of books. ❗️
Both men and women will enjoy this ReTelling of the King Arthur legend but it is set in a more realistic setting of Wales and the "Island of the Mighty" (aka. The UK), when Druid worship was clashing with Christianity. (no hokey wizards with wands and weird pointy hats)

Intense. Humorous. Clever. Thrilling. Inspiring.

Not for younger children but safe for ages PreTeen and above due to lack of excessive graphic content.

Find a quiet place and lose yourself into another place and time.

Lawhead is my FAVORITE author (bar none) and has been for almost 30 YEARS❗️

PS. Don't neglect to read books 4-5 in the Pendragon series too. Although not quite as juicy as these, definitely worth the read.

This book started very slowly for me, but once I got beyond the first 5 chapters it really took off!

I'm not positive that I read these after high school, but I think I did. They weren't as rivetting for me as the earlier fantasy books I'd read, not sure if it was the historical fiction genre change or what. But I definitely liked them. I don't think I read the other Pendragon books though, just these first 3.

Read these (only the first 3) when I was on my King Arthur kick several years ago. Interesting if you're looking for more stories about Arthur, but not compelling enough for me to continue reading the series, or look into other books by this author.
