Rate this book
What do you mean you’ve never heard of Death Eric?  Eric Thrashmettle is only, like, the singer and lead guitarist of the most famous and influential rock band ever known.  Ask your dad.
Eric has two Lulubelle Flower Fairy and Living Buddha Thrashmettle.  For obvious reasons, they prefer to be called Lou and Buddy.  And they often find their dad very embarrassing. He hasn’t performed in years—not since a raven pooped in his eye at the Chickenstock Festival.  But now his triple-platinum credit card has been cut up, the bank account is empty, and the Lamorari is out of gas.  His kids want their credit cards back, so Lou and Buddy must abandon all self-respect and get their terminally embarrassing dad back on the road.
Desperate times mean desperate measures. Protect your ears, kids! It’s the return of Death Eric.

Death Eric are the biggest heavy metal band in the world. Or at least, they were. Following a freak accident at a show involving a raven, Eric Thrashmettle, front man of Death Eric, decides to take an indefinite hiatus from the world of heavy metal.

Jump start years later, when Eric's two children, Lou and Buddy, discover that their lavish and luxurious lives have been cut short due to a lack of funds. They decide to take it upon themselves to reunite the band for a reunion tour and bring back the metal.

But rounding up lost members seems to be a bit more difficult than Lou and Buddy expected. With the help of a book of fairy-tales and their nanny, Lou and Buddy manage to round up the remaining members of the band-- Fingers Trubshaw and Kenyatta McClatter, the eccentric bassist and drummer who would rather be mowing lawns and serving fish and chips.

The goal is to make it to the big show and have everyone in a twenty-mile radius head-banging until their necks are sore, but will Death Eric be able to pull it off? Will Lou and Buddy retrieve the lost funds? And will Eric Thrashmettle get over his perpetual phobia of scavenging black birds?

Despite what happens, be sure to expect a lot of fun characters and heavy metal references, and an overall fun-for-the-entire-family satire.

Cheers to S.L.

One to keep the parents amused as they read out loud, as profoundly damaged death metal rocker has to be rescued from certain oblivion by his quick-thinking children, and from wearing his guitar the wrong way round by his roadies.
