I enjoyed this one. Lots of good action. Camden got on my nerves a little bit though with all his wishy washy-ness. And the big ta da! that we've all been waiting for was a bit anticlimatic, but I like this series. On to the next one soon-ish.
This story starts back at the castle which just made me happy. The first two books in this series starts away from the castle with just one warrior and a druid. The story would wind it's way back to the castle but I missed all the friends there. This one starts back with the group together, working together. I like that better than one warrior on his own. This is Saffron and Camdyn's book.
Saffron had been imprisoned by Declan for 3 years and he used a spell to blind her. Camdyn had rescued her in a previous book and brought her back to MacLaud castle. Now that the spell that was blinding her had been removed in the last book, Saffron needs to get her life back. She's a seer and can help the Warriors a lot but her mother is trying to steal her money. There is much for her to do.
As for Camdyn, he's trying to pretend that there are no feeling between him and Saffron. He had a wife years ago and she aged and died before his eyes. That is something he doesn't want to go through again. So he's keeping his distance.
The group is working towards killing Deirdre. They are looking for her twin sister to help them finally eliminate that evil from the world. It's a complex tale with lots of obstacles to overcome. Through those obstacles, Camdyn and Saffron learn what's most important to them.
I continue to enjoy this series It has great characters and writing plus an intriguing story line that keeps me wondering.
Ever since the Warriors rescued Saffron from Delcan’s dungeon, she has been a bit on the timid side and was still plagued with her nightmarish memories of what was done to her. But since her rescue, one person has always protected her; Camdyn, who could silence her nightmares with a single touch and who is never far from her when she’s plagued with a vision.
Now Dani has finally broken through the spell that had claimed Saffron’s vision and Saffron is trying to live every day to the fullest. Even though they still have enemies to slay and she still has to fight her own mother, who is trying to get her declared legally dead so she can claim Saffron’s inheritance.
Camdyn has felt a need to protect Saffron from the moment he saw her chained up in Declan’s prison, he just assumed it was because he was the only one that could penetrate the magic keeping her there. And, as time goes on, he is finding himself drawn to her more and more, but it’s a pull that he must fight. He has already lost his wife and will not go through that pain again.
But when Saffron is once again in the clutches of the enemy, all thoughts of Allison go out the window as he will give anything, including his own life, to get Saffron back once more.
Of all the women that have been in this series so far, Saffron has been the one I’ve had the least interest in. Except for Kirstin, that is. I was hoping that I would learn to love Saffron’s character, but I really didn’t. I found her to be weak and always the damsel in distress. Granted, I understand why she’s the way she is with all that she has been through with her own family and then Declan. I hope we do see her grow and strengthen as the series progresses.
I really did enjoy Camdyn though. Always, the quiet protector, he can’t help, but be drawn to Saffron even though he doesn’t want to be. He wars with himself over what he feels for her and the hurt and grief he still harbors for the love he lost, Allison. Of course it takes almost losing Saffron for him to realize exactly what she means to him and to know that he can’t turn off his feelings for her; that above all else she is his to love and protect and a life without her isn’t worth living.
I think the strength in Camdyn’s character more than makes up for Saffron’s shortcomings and their bond only serves to get stronger (*major spoiler—look away if you can*) now that she is carrying his child. I have a hint of ‘I told you so’ in me as well since I knew that someone in the castle would be getting pregnant soon and I even mentioned it in my last review for this series, Midnight’s Lover. Of course Saffron was the one I didn’t want to get pregnant so it only serves to reason that she would be the one for it to happen to. But I think this baby will be great for them both, but especially Camdyn. To think he was losing everything to now be rewarded with such a gift is priceless.
For the most part I really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t an instant love match as Camdyn was trying to fight his feelings so it took them a little longer than the others to give in to their desires, but it was well worth the wait!
The only part of this book that I didn’t like was when Saffron and Camdyn were going through the labyrinth to try to wake Laria. It seemed a bit too drawn out for me and got a bit boring, of course it’s because I’m just not an Indiana Jones kind of girl and I don’t care about the tests and puzzles they were faced with, I just wanted the end result! I’m so impatient and demanding! I think we definitely understood the task at hand was tedious by the halfway point and I think it could have been shortened to keep readers interested. But not to fear the book quickly picks back up afterwards and you won’t want to put it back down until you’ve read the last page!
This is a mysteriously magical tale that you won’t want to forget!
Saffron was rescued from Declan in the previous book by Camdyn. She was blinded and tortured by Declan for 3 years. She is still dealing with the trauma of captivity. Her sight was restored by Dani. She is drawn to Camdyn and he to her (her magic feels different to him). I had a harder time getting into this book, I'm not sure if it was my mood or because it's been awhile since I read book 2. (Not going to wait as long to read book 4). Saffron and Camdyn were likeable, but I didn't really connect with them. The strength in this series is the appearance of everyone else who is coupled up and those whose coupledom is coming in future books. I am happy to say the Deirdre storyline comes to a conclusion in this one. After dragging out for 9 books (yes, 9- the 6 books in the "Dark Sword" and this being #3 in the Dark Warriors series), it was anti-climatic and quick. Deirdre's situation/story was getting old and I'm glad that is concluded. There is still Declan to contend with and hopefully does NOT drag out either (3 and counting). Malcolm makes a move (finally). Phelan and Charon chose a side (also finally). Next book is Tara (Saffron had a vision of Declan hunting her). I think a character guide is in order (I think Tara may have had a brief POV in book 2).
Coveted greatly because of the fact that she is a Seer – a true rarity in the Druid world, many would do anything in order to have Saffron Fletcher in their possession. However, Camdyn MacKenna has had his nights on Saffron for some time now. His desire for her is barely leashed...
Saffron has recently got her life back. Three years ago, she suffered from a tragedy where true evil blinded her. Living life without sight became a setback for Saffron, yet she still remained strong and independent. Now, with the power of magic, the veil has been lifted from Saffron and she has gained her sight back. However, the world around her doesn’t look the way it did before. As she acclimates to these sudden changes, she notices that there is one Warrior that captures her eye.
Camdyn and Saffron are a great match for each other. Though I thought that the romance was slow to begin with, so much other stuff occurs that you hardly notice it. This is understandable because Camdyn isn’t a forceful suitor. He’s much more laid back, however, this desire for Saffron grows by the minute as he sees how much more beautiful and strong she is in times of dire need. As Saffron deals with her personal problems with her mother, Camdyn slowly gains her trust in a way that bloom wonderfully.
I have to say that Saffron has become one of my favorite heroines in this series. Danielle and Ian are my favorite couple, but Saffron and Camdyn are in second place. I just adore it when authors have a character, whether the hero or heroine, come back from a particular setback bigger and better than before. And Saffron’s transformation in this book is an amazing one. She really became the best thing about this book, and the fact that Camdyn is her support makes this book turn from good to great! As I said earlier, Grant makes some major leaps and bounds in MIDNIGHT’S SEDUCTION. This is definitely not a book to be missed. Everything that readers have been waiting for comes down to this one moment where the Warriors can truly prevail over Declan and Deirdre. However, will their plan backfire before it even begins?
MIDNIGHT’S SEDUCTION is another fantastic addition to the Dark Warrior series that melds sexy paranormal with a touch of historical making it a darkly magical tale to remember.
When I seen my name attached as the winner of this ARC, I squeed and did the happy chair dance. Yup, even had to read the email thrice before it sunk in!
And gotta say its arrival - day before my birthday - was icing on the cake. Donna's books from the Dark Warriors to Dark Sword to Dark Kings (what I've read by her so far) keeps me salivating for the next installment.
I was having issues on waiting for Saffron and Camdyn's book. Camdyn we know and are familiarized from the Dark Swords books and the first two books in the Dark Warriors. So he's considered an "old" friend who we get glimpses inside his thoughts throughout the book, why he's so closed off, and etc. Now it's his turn to be in the limelight.
Saffron (love that name) we met in the first book and good deal in the second book. We sort of got the dynamics of the first bloom of their relationship. Why it is so anticipated by me!
After her ordeal at the hands of Declan Saffron needs to re-learn herself. So much had been taken away. So much revealed to her.
On Page 60 - Oh my goddess I am laughing. That is just something I DO NOT see brawny, alpha men saying:
" I like the bangs," Quinn said. "Hm the makeup is subtle but nice."Hayden added. LMAO moment there. I've been giggling since then!
76 pages in - Can I say what an ugly b**ch Saffron's mother is? Urgh.. real piece of vain work that woman is.
189 pages in - Totally sympathizing with Saffron right about this moment. Had I been in her place I would have been freaking out like one would not believe...
Spiders? * Shudders, skin crawls * Now mine is! Darnit!
234 pages in - Okay so I really did not want to put this book down last night. I kept encouraging myself half hour more. Eventually I had to tear the book from my fingers if I was to be functionable to get my kids off to school. Damn school!
Then today I had my doggie demanding attention and I have about a hundred pages ish to go.
One chapter ends in the story arc - another chapter ongoes in the arc - Sorry but no I am not going to reveal what the "end" is. But wow... towards the end became quite a tear jerker. The scene between Camdyn and Saffron...brought tears in my eyes...
There came a point towards the end that I started to nibble on my nails, quickly turning the next page. Now the long wait for Ramsey and Tara...
I have been having a "Dark Warriors" Marathon and I am loving every minute of it! This series is a continuation from the "Dark Sword" Series and it is just as action packed and hot as the Dark Swords. In Midnight's Seduction (which is Book #3)we get to follow the budding relationship between Camdyn and Saffron. The attraction between these two is sizzling; but Camdyn fights it to the bitter end. He has loved and lost once before and is not keen on stepping up to the plate to watch another woman he loves grow old and die. I can totally understand his dilemna, but Saffron is just the perfect woman for him, in my opinion, so I was on the edge of my seat waiting for these two to give in to their passion. When they did, it was fireworks for sure and the pay off was very rewarding! Once again Donna Grant writes a book that is full of action, adventure, villains, love and sex. I just love her books, and I love that we get to revisit all of the couples from the other books in this series as well as her other series. It is a pleasant addition to an already rewarding story, and it is like being reintroduced to all of your old friends. Excellent series that I know in the future I will enjoy rereading again and again.
This book was great! We finally get to learn the back story on Camdyn. I've been wanting to know about him since book 2! I have to say I'm very impressed with his ability to discern certain things since he is kind of a loner and stand-offish. But what I really loved in this book was Saffron! You really get to see how she developed and changed throughout this whole book. Since she is a seer, which is a rare gift among druids, Saffron has to figure out her role in everything. She has battle her doubts that the only reason she is at Macleod castle is because she is a seer since Deirdre and Declan both want her for her ability. She is officially one of my favorite druids in this series. This book was great and kind of a turning point in the series in my opinion. I'm really excited to see what happens in the next book plot wise and because we finally get to learn about Ramsey!!!
Now that that is said, why do I hate Saffron so much? I think my nausea and extreme hatred of this character is a testament to how well written this book is. Squeezing that enormous amount of emotion from me (regardless of whether positive or negative) is a miracle. Yep, I don't jest. I've just found that I may have become somewhat expectant regarding the TYPICAL female Paranormal Romance lead character schpeel :P Thanks for broadening my horizons Donna Grant even though I want to kick Saffrons victimizing, selfish, spoiled ass into oblivion.
This novel is #3 in the series, "Dark Warriors" by author; Donna Grant. I've been on the Donna Grant series for awhile now and I absolutely love every one of the novels. This series revolves around the sexy Immortal warriors, druids, lots of action, suspense, romance, betrayal and forgiveness. This novel is very well written to where you keep turning the page wanting to know what's going to happen next. This was that kind of exciting novel. Super fast read but well worth it! I highly recommend this series, novel and author. You won't be disappointed! Happy Reading!
I really enjoyed this book, So happy to see Saffron and Camdyn come together. Their coming together was hot like fire. I could feel the heat coming off the pages of the book. Camdyn always protected Saffron from when he rescued her from Declans dungeon and he tried his best to protect his heart from her but he could not keep away from her. This story is very exciting and sexy I really enjoyed reading it and I look forward to the next book.
I really enjoyed this third book in the dark warriors series. I like how the author incorporates the characters from previous books so that you can see what all of the couple have been up to. I have always been a fan of Donna grants novels and this series is no exception. I would highly recommend it to fans of the PNR genre.
“And now she knew she didn’t want a life like Indiana Jones because her heart simply couldn’t take the constant surprises and life-threatening episodes.” - Chapter 24, Midnight’s Seduction
Yes, this book was absolutely reminiscent of Indiana Jones and, as someone who enjoys those movies, I loved the adventures that the Dark Warriors and their Druids experienced in this story - although, I’m sure Druid Saffron fears spiders even more than Indy does snakes.
I liked this book much more than the last one, as well as the hero and heroine, Camdyn MacKenna and Saffron Fletcher, who I thought had good chemistry. Of course, the heroine appears to have fallen for the Bad Boy:
“He was a warrior in every sense of the word. Coiled within him was a tangible violence that would have put her off years earlier. Now, she found it exhilarating, thrilling to be around someone so virile and dangerous.” - Chapter 2
However, the unfolding of Camdyn’s backstory as the novel progresses sheds light as to why he exudes such a personality:
“Camdyn had learned at a very early age after being moved from family to family that if he wanted anything he had to rely only on himself. That became even clearer when Deirdre unbound his god.” - Chapter 36
Saffron, too, has had an unfortunate past:
“Her past relationships had all been complete failures. Either because of the men, or because she hadn’t been willing to give herself completely to them. Because she hadn’t trusted them.” - Chapter 36
Needlessly say, the torturous abuse Saffron suffers at the hands of Declan Wallace is traumatizing and lends a vulnerability to her character. As such, she may not be the strongest heroine but I believe she has the potential to become a formidable Druid ‘warrior’ in her own right with the love of Camdyn to help her.
I always look forward to experiencing the camaraderie and family bonds between the other Warriors and Druids that have been introduced in previous books, thankfully ever present in this book as well. This well written story seamlessly interweaves among its pages conflicted characters Malcolm, Charon and Phelan.
I look forward to further adventures and sizzling steam as part of the Dark World, perhaps with more Indiana Jones style puzzles to figure out and fears to overcome, just as Saffron did.
In Midnight's Seduction, the connection that started when Camdyn MacKenna rescued Saffron from Declan's dungeon, solidifies and boils over as they give into to their passion. For months after her rescue, Saffron had horrible nightmares. Bad dreams that Camdyn pushed away as he kept watch over her. In a world where druids are rare, Saffron's gift makes her even more special. That's because Saffron is a seer. Her gift is what made Declan kidnap her and keep going back for her. Drawn together by a common enemy, Saffron and Camdyn are determined to destroy the evil that remains in their world. For Camdyn the touch of Saffron's magic is both heaven and hell. For a warrior who thought love was not for him, Saffron soon becomes all he wants and needs. But Camdyn has loved a mortal before and losing his wife nearly destroyed him. So he fights his feelings for Saffron like the warrior he is. He knows losing Saffron would be the end of him. As warriors and druids plan the final battle against Deirdre, Declan becomes another thorn in their side. More than once Saffron and her gift will be used to mislead and confuse, but trust in her love for Camdyn will save her and the warrior she loves.
I read all of the books many moons ago. I have now been binge listening to all of them. The warriors of Macleod Castle saved Saffron from Declan's clutches. She is still faces many challenges. Declan still wants her and her mom wants her money. What is a girl to do??? She hops that Camdyn will help keep her safe and cherish her.
Camdyn helped rescue Saffron from Declan's dungeon. Thanks to his warrior, he was able to dig under the bars, bypassing the magic preventing others from entrance. He tries to stay away from her. He fails, but he is good and running and denying his feelings. He will soon realize how much she means to him. Hopefully he won't be too late.
Deidre and Declan have joined forces to kill the one thing that can destroy her. An intense battle takes place. I was on the edge of my seat. Donna Grant's battles always give me thrills and chills. This one in audiobook--perfection. Spells were flying. Bullets that can kill warriors are creating havoc. Will the power of the druids be enough? Will the warriors survive? Will they succeed? As I listened, as I became more fearful, I could only hope all would end well.
Story: 3.5/5 World Building: 3.5/5 Enjoyment: 4/5 Relationship Style: protective MMC/trust bond (mate) Sexual Level: 4/5 Romance: 4/5 Series: Book 3 POV: multiple Audio Narration: Female 3.5/5
Finally! Finally it is basically admitted that all of these relationships are mated relationships. It was obvious but never actually said so I didn’t know if this author just always makes their characters relationships that way? Also, Camdyn and Saffron and their love and bond was actually so much more believable than the rest have been. I actually felt moved during their intimate scenes and inner thoughts, it felt real. I really can’t say that for just about all the others. Hopefully this is means they rest will be portrayed more authentically as well from now on? Maybe?
Quick Review, I'm in a hurry to start reading the next Bk in this series, Sexy Immortal Warrior's, Druid's, Deadly action packed, page turning, well written and heart thumping paranormal romance that leave you wanting more. Camdyn and Saffron's story is a wonderful addition to "The Dark Warrior's" series and I'm looking forward to reading Bk4 "Midnight's Warrior" which I will be as soon as I've done this review. We'll done Ms Grant, I'm hooked. Highly recommended. 4.5 Star's.
Camdyn is a really good warrior but he's afraid of true love and happiness. Even though he had that in the past he thinks he's not worthy of deserves it and he's afraid of heartbreak. But fate will do what it wants whether a person wants or likes it or not. Thank God she was saved from that psycho both xs. But I wish a good person doesn't have things happen cause of being a twin. Even though she's a seer it's good that she can have a good future and gets away from that bitch that doesn't care 4 anything or anyone but money.
This is book three in the spinoff series "Dark Warriors" from Donna Grant. In typical fashion she blends magic, legend, and romance to give the reader a page turner.
Here we find Camdyn MacKenna and Saffron Fletcher finding that when you have loved and lost, one day you can find love again. So what if you have to fight off not one but two evils that wreck the world.
If you are a fan of the "Dark Swords" series you will love this series as well, as the warriors continue to band together now in a modern world with all the technology available.
Saffron has been held by Declan for three years. She is rescued by the Warriors and Camden carries her out of the dungeon. He is drawn to her, even though he fights it. She is a seer. She was being used by Declan. Camden goes to her when she has night mares, only his touch can soothe her. She is a strong Druid and her power and talents come in handy in the fight against Dedra. Camden can no longer fight his feelings for Saffron.
Camdyn is a Dark Warrior, Saffron is a Seer that Camdyn rescued. The druids are after the means to kill Dierdre. Camdyn spends the majority of the book fighting his attraction to Dierdre, not wanting to go through the pain of loving and losing a mortal woman. It's annoying but the Druids and Warriors working together to free Dierdre's twin in order to vanquish her was interesting.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The excitement continues. Saffron regains her vision. She falls in love with Camdyn but he is standoffish because of his past. Deidre interferes in the search but Laria's body is found. There is a big battle because Saffron is recaptured by Declan. Phelan, Charon and Malcom each play parts in this book. This series gets better and better.
I really like this series. Of course the setting in Scotland is awesome on my bucket list and what little girl doesn't want to visit a castle. A real page turner just because Camdyn really was a stubborn one. Glad he overcame and conquered.
me ha gustado mucho está historia, la continuación de la serie, sin embargo, igual que los anteriores, hay pedazos que si me los salto, pues son muy descriptivos en lo XX, pero realmente la historia es genial
The only reason I read this book- I want to finish the series. It gets cheesier with every subsequential book! A little more nuance, building the characters better and giving them a few more layers, (and not quoting the premise of the book multiple times) would have made for a far better read.
