Thrilling, fascinating & very real tales of the first & best mountain rescue team based in Colorado. I really enjoyed the way the author used seasons to split up the stories. This is definitely a book you won't want to put down - fans of mountaineering & Everest memoirs will appreciate the detailed recounting of belays, clips & litter handling. I bought a copy to keep in my little cabin near Telluride for visitors.

Yes, it's been around a long time, and I should have read it long ago. I know both the mountaineers that wrote the forwards and have great respect for them. And it was published by the Colorado Mountain Club Press, and I am a long-time member of the Club. I learned so much about RMR and so appreciate all they do. A must read for mountaineers/hikers/skiers in the back country.

this book renewed my interest in doing more with my outdoor interests. My new goal is to get re-certified in first aid and cpr. Now with George, training him to aid in search and rescue could be fun. So I think I should take the pet first aid course first. Once certified then I can start the SAR training.

This book was very informative. I learned quite a bit about how search and rescue crews operate.

In looking at signing up for my local Search and rescue, this was a great book to read. It gave me an idea of what I might be asked to do and maybe some of the thing I would see and experience.

Interesting, if somewhat awkward writeups of some rescue stories by Rocky Mountain Rescue.
