I will be getting the rest of the series. Yeah, it's a Hentai manga, but there is some serious ish going on here and I actually want to know what in the world is going on. The MC is working on trying to get his life together after he made a really bad decision. The girl he's supposed to date is you're typical broken girl, but I can kinda relate. She has a dad that non extant and she's distant from the rest of her family. So she's pretty much alone and she's using the MC to try and fill a void. So you can see that there's SOMETHING there between them. I don't know if it's going to bloom in love, but the main female character is so tsundere as hell, but not in an annoying way, it's more so from being on guard from something. Then just as the first book finishes, it leaves you on a bit of cliff hanger. So yeah. I'm trying to see what happens next. Also, it's a hentai....so yeah...there's sex. So yeah.

Right so since I haven’t come across some decent mangas lately, why not just read a trashy one like this one for a change? Yes I said it...culture style by reading a “hentai with plot”...
Anyways we basically see a dimwit of a salaryman who won the lotto and put his company at 80 million in debt because he signed a contract without reading it of course (careless dummy seriously ). So the company suggested him on one condition that he was gonna hook up with a girl and the two kicked off. There is roughly about 80% of sex scenes but the ending was realistic enough. Although I do admit it was really abrupt. I mean I really wish this manga was more of a slow burner because my god, you just can’t keep up with the amount of sex stuff on here. If it was more of a deep story, I would have more high regards of it. I can’t knock the art though cause it is no doubt nice!

I'm not sure how I feel about this manga. I don't particularly care for either of the main characters. The basis of the plot seems a little ridiculous to me. There's too much sex, and the plot is kinda vague and slightly dark. It's different, but I can't figure out if it's good different or bad different.

This is borderline hentai, but the story is good enough for me to keep reading.
A working Japanese man found out he has an unpaid loan that will take him his whole life to repay but fortunately (or unfortunately), he has been given a way out of the debt—Just befriend (become a slave to) a rich lady.
She comes across as a spoilt brat, but of course, she just has "traumas". Seeing as this is a drama, I suppose the end goal is both of them falling in love.

Not for the Faint of Heart - Velvet Kiss Vol 1 Review
This Sunday marks an exciting (teehee) milestone for Not for the Faint of Heart, and that is the first straight (ecchi?) adult manga that I'm reviewing. Oddly (or perhaps I just find it odd) there aren't a whole lot of manga out there that have actual graphic scenes between a man and a woman (or a woman and a woman). Or perhaps that's not quite right either, because manga like Eden or The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service or MPD Psycho certainly do contain explicit scenes, but not really in the same way. This series, Velvet Kiss, centers fairly heavily on sex. It is basically your romantic comedy with sex. So yes, bottle of Merlot nearly empty (sharing it with my partner, for all those judging me) I proceed.
So I guess the major element that I notice when reading this manga is that, happily, there is no rape. For those that follow my series of reviews, it seems like every yaoi or BL title centers around a form of rape. Almost without exception. So to see the first ecchi manga to be rape free is rather nice. I suppose it's not entirely sex without some stipulations, or hesitations, as the story of this revolves around a man being somehow saddled (teehee) with a huge dept and basically having to satisfy the sexual and social whims of a pampered socialite in order to get out of paying. It's a sketchy premise, but I never got the feeling that the man was getting raped. I mean, he has mixed feelings about it, but there's nothing forced and there really isn't any hard (teehee) feelings other than he doesn't like being at the mercy of the debt owner.
There is also some interesting things going on here, with the girl in question being rather flaky, rather spoiled and prone to wanting attention for the sake of wanting attention. She has similar friends and sometimes they just have orgies, which I guess is Japanese for being privileged and not being responsible. But it is interesting to see the ways the main characters start to depend on each other, even though they first come together really because they want something else, the girl to tease and control the man and the man to try and get out of debt. So it is interesting to watch the relationship evolve, though how the man doesn't get fired from his job I don't know. There are a few confusing parts, like at the end there is some strange foreshadowing that I don't understand, but I guess I will have to read more.
And here I am happy to report that the sex scenes are all well done, rendered with care and consideration and rather graphic. Being from Japan this is still tame in ways, with the most private of parts not directly shown, but there is a lot of scenes in the volume, with some nice variety. And I was thoroughly impressed when the male character actually insisted on using protection, because in most of these stories I assume condoms are not a concern. But here it was, meriting a mention in the story, and from the guy no less. Well done, book.
Of course, good sex doesn't help that the relationship is a bit messed up, and while the volume is good, it doesn't really do much more than provide a glimpse of a strange relationship. Nothing else is really happening yet, and I guess I would like to see the couple have to deal with some plot beyond them not really being sure what they want. It is a solid manga, but not extraordinary. Like some of the yaoi, it is sexual and adult and interesting. But it is not really a healthy relationship, and more needs to happen before I can endorse it more than giving it a 6.75/10.

gw masukin kategori "H" meski setelah ngobrol sama temen kemungkinan ini masih "E" seperti genre tg tertera si ehehehe.. abisan banyak banget uhuk2nya, dan lumayan tergambarkan dgn detail jd gw masukin H, trs kenapa masih baca jg padahal manga gitu? karena jalan ceritanya bagus.. beneran deh, dari segi cerita 4 bintang mustinya eheheheh ^^
Nitta Shin, pekerja kantoran pada umumnya dan cenderung bermasa depan cerah kr rajin dan ga aneh2, sampai pada suatu hari dia mendapat kabar dari sebuah bank, bahkan die mempunyai utang sangat besar. Shin, kaget dong.. padahal die yakin hidupnya bakalan baik-baik saja. Akhirnya die sepakat ketemu sama petugas bank nya, toh die kaga ngerasa punya utang. Eh, pas nyamp2 dikasih liat deh tandatangan kontrak gt, dan die inget pacarnya pernah nyuruh dia ttd dan bakanya kaga dia baca2 dulu. Bingung, duit dari mana bayar utang sebanyak itu? si pegawai bank bilang kalau utang mu bisa di cancel asal die mau nemenin "certain woman". Yah, mau ga mau kan.. eh pas die keluar dan ketemu sama "certain woman" taunya die adalah gadir cantik dan cute banget Kano, anak si empunya perusahaan.
Mulai deh Shin jadi budaknya Kano, disuruh2, nemenin Kano belanja, makan, ambil pesenan dst dst. Si Kano ini tipikal anak orang kaya yg ga pernah susah, hobinya belanja dan amat sangat nyebelin bagi Shin. Dari hari pertama kerja, tiap mau pulang si Kano pasti ngajakin Shin uhuk2, dgn alasan die ga bisa tidur. Kadang siang2 jg di telp buat uhuk2 doang dgn alasan Kano lagi bosen. Shin sebel banget! kesel banget! tp Kanonya cantik banget, dan bagaimanapun die laki2 normal katanya, ga bisa menolak godaan.. meski abisnya sll bilang "gw ngelakuin ini cuma kr utang gw".
Sampai suatu hari, Ibu tirinya Kano nemuin Shin dan menceritakan sebermasalah apa si Kano ini. Ga pernah punya temen, ga bisa bergaul dgn orang normal dan ga pernah merasa diterima sebagai keluarga dimana2, dst dst. Shin, mulai deh care sama si Kano. Dan Shin jg mulai ngajakin Kano melakukan hal2 yg Kano ga pernah lakukan dlm hidup, kek nemenin die ngelatih anak2 kecil maen baseball dst dst. Ketika Kano mulai merasa nyaman sama Shin, bahkan sampai menolak ajakan Yuki (mbuh pacar mbuh sex buddy tp si Yuki ini anak orang kaya yg mau dijodoin ama Kano), eh si Shin ketemu sama cewe yg menarik hatinya dan dikira die jatuh hati.
Kano bertingkah seperti biasanya kan, ttp ngajakin Shin ketemuan bla bla meski ude dicuekin abis, sampe pada akhirnya si Shin lagi2 bilang "gw ngelakuin ini cuma karena utang gw" dan Kano pun mencairkan utangnya Shin dan balik lagi ke Yuki meski ngerasa empty (hallah). Apa sudah selesai? beluummm.... justu mulai deh konfliknya, ada apa sebenarnya dgn keluarga Kano? ada apa dgn keluarga Yuki? dan begitu Shin lepas dr cengkraman Kano die mengalami suatu hal dan saat dia hancur, Kano tetap berdiri di sebelahnya. Apa itu? baca deh kwkwkwkw

It's inhumanly difficult to feel anything for these bland, cold characters. Their behavior is as boring and flimsy as the plot. The sex scenes are as explicit as softcore manga permits and are simply overly-long eye candy you can easily find in a basic google search. It feels like the plot might fit confortably in a single volume. Having read just the first volume, I can't imagine why they needed 4.
After having everything go his way, Shin Nitta's workday ends with a bang. Or is it a flop? He learns that he unwittingly signed papers that put him in a monstruous debt he has no chance of paying in a single lifetime. The debt collector is quick to show up and offer a deal - he must befriend a girl to erase the debt. The girl is aware of the deal too and takes full advantage of it. The plot is so manga it's laughable. I'll just bet they fall in love by the end.

I give the whole series 3,5 stars. The beginning is really slow and there is hardly anything but sex to the story, but the second half felt like a real story and I actually enjoyed it.
The plot is about Nitta and Kanako. Nitta is a normal office worker, who makes a mistake when drunk. He signs some documents for a woman and barely remembers it, but it comes back to bite him in his ass. Because he now owes the Kikuchiya company money, they make a deal with him and he has no option but to accept. He is supposed to keep Kanako, the daughter of the company head, company and do what she tells him. Kanako leads a lazy life, sleeping around and doing nothing other than shopping and generally spending money. Nitta has to face lots of difficulties because of the debt and Kanako is influenced by Nitta.

2.8 I don't know what it is but I see animals/Pokémon in the faces and slightly unnatural poses in the beginning, even though this is very erotic, which just makes it funny despite the nice full-color spreads w/ cooly transparent text squares. A slight office perv hits a lucky streak, winning all sorts of cash prizes and promotions. Cute slim/skimpy yet comfy modern outfits. I don't get the jump from the biz dinner to landing his dream girls. Why wouldn't you want to build that up for tension?
Having to befriend the random long-haired one for a line of credit is just goofy. At first she seems to make fun of him, then wants him to sleep w/ her. Some of those hiragana sound effects look like blood streaks and she doesn't seem to be enjoying anything, so I don't see what the point is. We don't really see him during the scenes, which I get is for the male gaze, but then it's confusing what part they're at/what exactly is going on sometimes since it seems she's alone.

Is this the best piece of literature ever? No. Could some people just argue it's just mainly sex? ...Yeah. Did I still enjoy it? Yes. Am I a perv? Maybe.
The story definitely felt hurried, but their relationship is currently just sex based so it makes sense. Both characters also can have a tendency to be cold, but I know there will be character development later on.
There's some sexy parts and I like that Kanoko isn't just a docile girl letting him take control all the time (she voices her opinions+ ...control in the sense of in bed too). Some of the dialogue ...🥵

Wow, it was actually pretty good 👌🏻as you read, it becomes clear Kano is lonely and that all the errands she makes Shin do are just excuses to have someone near her 🥺 My heart broke a little when Shin wished her "good night" and she said she hadn't hear it in so long 😭🤲🏻💓💖
Reading the next one because I'm really curious about how Shin is going to paid the debt and that stepmother seemed suspicious at the end 🧐

Plenty of mystery; as a writer, I can see the seeds being planted, and I'm curious about what those seeds will grow into. I can honestly say that this manga is starting out differently than anything I've read before.

Der Inhalt ist irgendwie merkwürdig und am Ende hat man immer noch einige Fragezeichen über dem Kopf. Es geht hier um einen jungen Mann der irgendeinen Vertrag im Suff unterschrieben hat und nun erpresst wird. Nicht um Geld. Er wird gezwungen sich mit einer jungen Frau anzufreunden. Diese ist extrem reich und eine dieser verwöhnten Gören, die den Wert von Geld nicht kennt. Sie benutzt ihn als persönlichen Sklaven und schupst ihn ganz schön herum. Schnell landen die beiden auch im Bett, obwohl das eher merkwürdig wirkt, da er sich dabei als Opfer sieht und trotzdem ständig Gedanken hat wie sexy sie ist. Das wirkte teilweise eher verlogen und albern. es gibt mehrere Andeutungen, dass noch mehr hinter diesem Vertrag steckt, aber am Ende weiß man das nicht genau.
Wirklich beeindruckt hat mich der Zeichenstil. Der war wirklich sehr gut. Die Gesichter sind schön und die Mimik ist wirklich überzeugend. Es gibt jede Menge erotischer Szenen und die sind ebenfalls sehr gut und vor allem geschickt gezeichnet. Es hat ein P16 Empfehlung und daher sind hier keine ganz expliziten Sachen zu sehen. Alles wird wirklich geschickt geschnitten bzw. bedeckt. Wirklich beeindruckt hat mich der Zeichenstil. Der war wirklich sehr gut. Die Gesichter sind schön und die Mimik ist wirklich überzeugend. Es gibt jede Menge erotischer Szenen und die sind ebenfalls sehr gut und vor allem geschickt gezeichnet. Es hat ein P16 Empfehlung und daher sind hier keine ganz expliziten Sachen zu sehen. Alles wird wirklich geschickt geschnitten bzw. bedeckt. Das ist Soobie beim Lesen aus ihrer Komfortzone.
Erst habe ich die Scanlations flüchtig gelesen und die waren interessant. Dann habe ich das Buch gekauft. Auf Deutsch, weil ich nicht weiß, ob die Serie auf anderen Sprachen übersetzt wurde.
Ich kann nicht Scanlations lesen: Ich lenke mich leicht ab. Beim Lesen des Buches habe ich richtig gelesen und ja... es gibt eine Sorte Geschichte hinter dem Sex. Ja, Tonnen von Sex aber auch eine Geschichte. Ich bin darauf neugierig, was passieren wird.

E dopo sei anni sono riuscita finalmente a mettere le mani sull'edizione italiana di Velvet kiss, che avevo letto ancora nel 2016 in tedesco.
Mi sembra di aver letto una storia completamente diversa. Cose che non avevo capito durante la prima lettura hanno finalmente acquisito un senso. Quasi, quasi ci vorrebbe una lettura comparata per vedere le diverse traduzioni.
Per essere un manga hentai ha addirittura una specie di trama.
