"This handbook will familiarize you with the rules governing the operation of motor vehicles. Also included in this handbook is information about licensing, registration, inspection, and collision reporting."
Litterally, the kinds of novels they let people publish now a days... I was promised engaging characters, riveting plots, shocking mysteries and stakes of the century. The author really got caught up in the worldbuilding, this whole book felt like such an infodump. It was just pages and pages of describing the driving laws of the universe. Like where's the character development? Was I supposed to empathize with the ugly car models that were ever present? And where's the dynamics between characters? The closest thing to relationships was talking about yielding to oncoming traffic. The only stakes was just describing all the ways the main characters could die in adverse weather conditions. So boring. This is the downfall of litterature.
Would not recommend. Most boring YA novel of the year.
Nova Scotia Driver’s Handbook: Terrified to Take the Next Step
So I just finished reading the Driver’s Handbook and I can’t stall any longer – though I’d very much like to. I mean, I waited this long (I’m nearly 25) why not wait a little longer right? But no, I’m going to do it! Driving scares me. There are so many things to remember and pay attention to. I just hope I can remember all the road signs when I’m writing my test. The book was pretty helpful and straightforward though at times I felt it was a little repetitive. Hope that makes it easier to remember!
I’ve read this book a few times and still haven’t seen what was promised. This book gave me expectations it could not meet, and for that I’m disappointed.
