Submerged Structure is the fourth volume of poetry by American poetry Thomas L. Vaultonburg. It details his struggle with Schizoid Personality Disorder in a diverse array of poems about the journey to reclaim himself from the ravages of mental illness and communicate his experiences to others.
Thomas L. Vaultonburg is an American poet, haikuist, and publisher living in Rockford, Illinois.
His haiku have appeared in leading journals including Modern Haiku, The Heron's Nest, Acorn, Mayfly, Presence, Wales Haiku Journal, Haiku Commentary, and numerous other international publications.
He is the author of Vanished Roads, Small Songs for Weary Travelers, Tea With the Tigress, Flesh Wounds, Submerged Structure, and the novel Necromancers Don't Read Toe Tags.
Vaultonburg is the co-founder of Wolf Twin Books with artist and writer Tré, where the pair publish collaborative works that bring together haiku, visual art, and contemporary literature. He previously founded Zombie Logic Press, an independent publisher devoted to poetry, fiction, comics, and outsider literature.
His work often explores landscape, attention, grief, memory, and the quiet transformations of everyday life.
