This book is about a boy that lives in the old days and he and his dad trap for money and his mom was indian but she died long ago. so it is just him and his dad he and his dad love riding horses and his dad gets attacked by a one eyed grizzly and scrapper john has to live on his own.

The boy is scrapper john he has brown hear and brown eyes he is very tough because being rased by a dad like his you better be strong to survive.

I really liked this book because it is about a boy who survives with only his friend that he made named Seeks The Far Sky he is a indian that can understand a little english they have to find horses to ride but it is hard for scrapper john to leave his half dog half wolf.

I really liked this book and I think that other people should read it. It was one of my favorite books that I have ever read. and you should read it to.
