Violet, the fourth book of the Silver Series, is about a teenage girl who awakens to the harsh reality of life as a werewolf. Protected by a wild werewolf with golden eyes, Colleen finds solace in his forest and control over her rapidly changing life. But Colleen’s control is put to the ultimate test when her loved ones are in danger, forcing her to choose between freedom or returning to the source of her nightmares.
Violet is a story of love amid loss and courage in the face of overwhelming odds. It is a story of finding a kernel of hope within a life torn apart by an accident and a cruel twist of fate.
Cheree Alsop is an award-winning, best-selling author and the mother of a beautiful, talented daughter and amazing twin sons who fill every day with joy and laughter. She is married to her best friend, Michael, the light of her life and her soulmate who shares her dreams and inspires her by reading the first drafts of each book. Cheree is a fulltime author and mother, which is much more fun than work! She enjoys reading, riding her motorcycle on warm nights, and playing with her twins while planning her next book. She is also a bass player for their rock band, Alien Landslide.
Cheree and Michael live in Utah where they rock out, enjoy the outdoors, plan great adventures, and never stop dreaming.
This is a truly great series. Each book so far brings with a new set of people/werewolves and problems. The tightly bonded friends and family help the newbies along with their problems. Excellent writing, characters with depth, likability and great development. On to book five.
Violet by Cheree Alsop is book 4 in the Silver series. This book follows Colleen, Kaynan’s younger sister, who was rescued at the end of book 3 (Crimson). She’s not like Kaynan, and her phases are violent and unpredictable. She’s afraid the rest of her life will be spent alternating between wolf and human multiple times a day while locked in a rehab center for wolves. That is until she risks her life to save “Feral Wolf 4” from his silver-barred cage in the middle of a building fire and they escape into the wild together.
Raf is one of those rare werewolves adopted by a real wolf pack when he was young. He takes Colleen out of the pressure-filled halls of human life and into the forest, where it doesn’t really matter how often she phases. Under his patient guidance, she learns to control her wolf. I love this part, because it’s a side of werewolves not usually seen in books. The wild wolf side is just as vital to who they are as the tamer human side. And his gentle love and patient acceptance goes farther toward her healing than all the white-washed therapy in the world.
Until he is attacked by a cougar and in risk of his life. She calls Kaynan for assistance and must re-enter human life. Things get complicated, because her past is has come calling. She and Kaynan must face the demons of their transformation and conquer them, or be hunted for the rest of their lives.
Violet is the fourth book in the Silver series and we find out more about Colleen, Kaynan's younger sister who died in the car crash with him. Just like him, her DNA has accepted the werewolf gene, but she is unable to control her shifts. When she is with Roger, who is trying to help her control them, she strikes up an unlikely friendship with a shifter who refuses to speak with anyone.
This is a brilliant read! You have the heartwarming love and faith in each other that Rafe and Colleen bring to the table, plus the horrifying depths that Kaynan goes to when trying to rescue some of the other 'experiments' and blow up the centre. Colleen and Rafe heal each other and the ending offers the hope of healing for others too.
Once again, this world continues to delight as you have very different stories for each of the books. The world-building is consistent and this book has new characters who show up that I am hoping will return - although I would prefer a different Christmas present!
This is a fantastic series and a brilliant book that I have no hesitation in recommending.

The fourth installment in the Silver Series follows a female perspective for the first time. That of Colleen, a normal girl turned werewolf after dying in a car accident. Colleen is now my second favorite character in the series, after Jet. Here we finally see a female character who isn't afraid to get in on the action and takes great risks to protect those she loves. She and Rafe heal each other through the power of love in a heart warming and touching romance which shows that sometimes people aren't who they seem to be.
As Colleen and her brother, Kaynen, try to rebuild their lives after being subjected to terrible experiments, they find themselves hounded at every turn for reasons beyond their control. The scientists who created them seek to make more such werewolves while the government seeks to stop that from happening at any cost.
Violet is an intense read which explores both the depths of human depravity and the heights of its virtue and nobility. Loyalty, love, and the willingness to commit acts of selflessness for the sake of others is a running theme throughout the Silver Series. If you enjoy YA paranormal that's intense and satisfying, you don't want to pass this one up.
Ms. Alsop has crafted another masterpiece. I love this series and how each book is unique. I understood how Colleen was feeling and seeing how she grew and learned throughout the story. Colleen's story is one that sticks with me. I simply had to finish once I started. I also liked seeing all the other characters from the previous books. I enjoyed seeing the bond grow between werewolves and how they take care of and welcome others into the pack. I can't seem to get enough of this series. I always want more! I can't tell you how excited I am to read book 5 Azure. These books are ones I will read again and have my kids read!
Just FYI~ This book does contain some violence. Does Not contain any swearing or sex
I really enjoyed reading from a female werewolf's point of view. It was interesting to see the different dynamics that revolve around being female. Rafe, a wild werewolf who saves Colleen's life, is a fully fleshed-out, unique character who gave insight into what life as a wild werewolf could be like. I thought the dynamics between the characters was great, and Colleen's growth was rewarding to read. These are characters that readers can truly come to care about, and watching them develop individually through the series is very enjoyable. Read this series. You won't regret it.
I can't get enough of these books. This werewolf series has exceeded my expectations with each new addition. I loved reading about life as a werewolf from a girl's point of view; it helped me appreciate the male werewolves even more, and I really enjoyed the wild element that played a key role in this book. Rafe may be one of my favorite secondary characters ever created. Read this book!
It took me four days to read all four of these books. I love how each new character is introduced to all the older ones. The way the author describes each of her characters and the way she gives details. She's in my top 5 of favorite authors! Very well written series!
Violet follows the story of Colleen, Kaynan’s sister who also died in the car crash that killed Kaynan but, like her brother awoke in the nightmare of having become a werewolf. But, unlike her brother, she cannot control her phase. After being rescued by Jaze and company, she remains in a kind of quarantine until she can gain control. There she meets the “wild” werewolf Rafe. He saves her life and provides a measure of calm to her out of control emotions.
I found some of the events in this story more difficult to accept than situations in the other novels in the series, but suspension of disbelief goes with the paranormal genre. My real problem was with the grammar, however. Subject pronouns are just that “subject” pronouns and should not be used in place of object pronouns. I know it sounds petty and won’t bother most readers, but it is a pet peeve of mine which I see far too often these days. Hence my three-star rather than four-star rating.
As with the prior books in the series, the budding romance here is well handled and kept clean which I totally appreciate. I recommend Violet (and the whole series) to anyone who enjoys a good paranormal story but is turned off by graphic violence and sex. I look forward to continuing this series.
Her biology was rewritten. Someone turned her into a monster.
Following the events of Crimson, Colleen tries her best to cope with her ever-changing world. Her ability to transform into a wolf has its problems. The phasing happens without warning making life difficult until she meets Rafe, a wild werewolf who teaches her what it means to be free. Her human side wants to be with her brother Kaynan but her wolf side longs to roam the forest she learns to call home. Government agents soon make their presence known and recruit Colleen and Kaynan to take down the last lab Dr. Tannin had facilitated with the risk of them not coming back alive.
I loved all the twists she had for this book. There were a few spelling errors and typos. Her description of the environment could use some work. Otherwise, it is wonderful. Her poetry in the book is amazing. If we could see more of that in the novels, it would draw the reader into the world she lovingly created. Her character descriptions are spot on! And her prose is stronger in this book than in previous novels. Her writing keeps evolving. I hope that after this series I will be able to read more of her books.
There were a lot of flaws to the plot for this story (at least for me there were), that didn't mesh as well together for this book. Those flaws pulled me out of the story a bit. Enough so, that I didn't read straight thru like I did for book 1-3. I actually did things, like grocery shopping, laundry & house cleaning, rather than continue reading (without anxiety about stopping in the book to do so). I did enjoy it, but not near as much as book 1-3. This book, so far in the series, is the one I wouldn't read again, at all. I also didn't feel so much connection to Colleen and Rafe as I did the characters in book 1-3. I really didn't like the ending on this either. I felt that the characters were throw away characters to a degree, that they would go back to the wild to never be heard from again in the series. I really wasn't as excited to continue on with the series after this book.
Recurring theme thru the series, horrible editing/proof-reading. I tried to look past that with the review, others might not be so generous.
Colleen was supposed to be dead. They had a funeral and her brother Kaynan has been morning her and living with the guilt of being drunk when the accident happened. But like Kaynan, she has brought back from death and is now living as an unstable werewolf. Jaze, his werewolves and hunters storm the lab and break Colleen and other unstable were's out. After being relocated to a rehab like facility, Colleen meets Rafe. Rafe is in a cell and does not communicate with anyone but Colleen. After the facility is attacked, Rafe and Colleen go to live with Rafe's actual wolf pack. Can Colleen stay in control? Can Rafe be civil after living most of his life in the forest with real wolves? Will the lab finally leave her and Kaynan alone? Another good story about Jaze's team and how they keep the weres and his family safe. I can wait to start "Azule", the next book. I really hope they keep the story with Jaze going.
I didn’t like this book as well as the other ones. The absurdity of Agent Sullivan’s actions was a bit much. Agent Sullivan’s men takes the smallest member of the pack and beats the mess outs of him to learn some info and they return him in a bag to the pack still alive, but barely. And he also takes the wolves in the forest killing the alpha, but Rafe doesn’t want to attack the ones involved?!?!?! The pack just forgives and forgets all this?!?!? Then he and his agents barge in on them during Christmas and scares all of them as a test and again, all is forgiven and no one really bats an eyelash. Not the way I would have done it, because surely one of the werewolves would have snapped and lost it with Agent Sullivan. Not my favorite.
Colleen is recused from the lab by her brother, Kaynan and his friends. Now she is at a Hunter's rehab so she control her phasing, a fire starts and she is saved by a wild werewolf, learns to control her phasing and save Rafe from a cougar, but is she and her friends safe from those who want to make werewolf clones?
This is Book Four of the Silver Series. Another character is added to the Pack: Colleen--a girl who was also part of the development center, befriends Rafe--a wild werewolf with golden eyes. She, herself, has violet eyes.
Violet is a story of loves, loss, and courage in the face of insurmountable odds.
After this read, I am taking a break from werewolves...
The second part of Kaynan and Colleen's story. Filling in Colleen's story and what happened after she died. I enjoyed it although it was horrible to think cloning was happening to make werewolves. I just love these books.
This series is wonderful. Need to get a teenager, girl especially, start them on this series. Could be the next Twilight, or Harry Potter, and create a life long reader.
The first in the series from a female characters point of view. Colleen is a little broken, but as per the previous books she also finds her true mate.
I have never met a book of Cheree's that I disliked. I adore this series and this group of characters. It was really nice for the female perspective...especially a non-alpha.
